HSEQ Topic of the Month

SAFETY IN THE HEAT

During the summer months, temperatures can reach highs of up to 45°c in this region,
it’s essential we take the necessary precautions at home and at work to prevent heat related
injuries / illnesses. We have provided some top tips below to help you beat the heat this summer:

EATING A NUTRITIOUS KEEP YOURSELF DRESS PLAN YOUR


BREAKFAST HYDRATED DOWN DAY
Eat a high fibre cereal like muesli, Drink plenty of water Wear suitable clothes, Avoid the
porridge or granola. before you leave i.e. lightweight clothing, mid-day sun
Avoid caffeine and sugary drinks your home and apply sun screen (11am to 3pm)

Mostly clear = hydrated, Eat light and stock up on Inform your family or colleagues, Aim to sleep
