I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards
The learner demonstrates understanding on how world literature and other text types seve
as ways of expressing and resolving personal conflicts and also how to use strategies in linking
textual information, repairing, enhancing communication public speaking, emphasis markers
in persuasive texts, different forms of modals, reflexive and intensive pronouns.
B. Performance Standards
The learner writes a plan of action on how he/she would transform his/her weaknesses into
strengths and how he/she would further improve his/her strengths.
C. Learning Competencies/Objectives
At the end of the lesson, 80% of the class should be able to:
1. React/respond intelligently and creatively to given situations, and
2. Write a plan of action on how one would transform his/her weaknesses into strengths
and how he/she would further improve hi/her strengths.
II. CONTENT

IV. PROCEDURES
Using direct question and response, the teacher asks the students this question:
“To what extent would you use your strengths to save the person you love?”
After addressing students’ answers, tell the class that today’s text has something to do with
one’s strengths and weaknesses.
C. Presenting examples/ instances of the new lesson
Through ICT- assisted instruction, the students are instructed to watch the narration of
Orpheus and Eurydice.
(Note: The students were told to have an advanced reading of the selection at home. Thus,
the video clip is supplemental to help them concretize their understanding of the text.)
Using active learning, check students’ understanding of the material through the following
comprehension questions:
To reinforce learning, the class is divided into three groups and is engaged to Small Group
Differentiated Work.
For Group 1: Think of a song depicting any among the themes embedded in the story.
For Group 2: Name and explain some of the themes of the story.
For Group 3: Write an alternative ending for the story.
F. Developing Mastery
Through collaborative learning, the members of the group are challenged both socially and
emotionally as they listen to different perspectives and are required to articulate and defend
their ideas in preparation for the final activity.
None of us is created perfect. All of us are endowed with strengths. At the same time, we
also have weaknesses. Beig positive allows us to be better persons as we capitalize on our
strengths and as we address our weanesses to improve ourselves.
H. Evaluating learning
Using a Graphic Organizer, write a plan of action on how you would transform your
weaknesses into strengths and how you would further improve your strengths.
