Rankine cycle 1: Steam Turbine

In a steam turbine cycle the turbine receives superheated steam of the following parameters:
t1 = 540 °C, p1 = 140 bar
The outlet pressure of the turbine is p2 = 0.1 bar
The isentropic efficiency of the turbine is ηT = 85%.
The mass flow rate of the steam is ṁ = 30.14 kg/s.
What are the specific enthalpy (h2) and the temperature (t2) of the outlet steam?
What is the power of the turbine (PT)?

Rankine cycle 2: Boiler

In a steam turbine cycle the economizer receives feed water of t4 = 50 °C.
The outlet stream of the superheater is steam of the following parameters:
t1 = 540 °C, p1 = 140 bar
The mass flow rate of the steam is ṁ = 30.14 kg/s.
What are the useful heat performances of the economizer, evaporator and superhater?
The pressure drops in the boiler and the water loss through boiler blowdown are neglected.
For missing data use the steam table!
Solution of Example 1
From steam table:
{ p1 , t1 }  h1 = 3434.20 kJ/kg; s1 = 6.53203 kJ/kg/K

From steam table:

{ p2 , s 1 }  h2iz = 2068.18 kJ/kg

h2 = h1 - (h1 – h2iz) * ηT = 3434.20 – (3434.20 – 2068.18) * 0.85 = 2273,08 kJ/kg

From steam table:

{ p2 , h2 }  t2 = 45.81 °C

PT = ṁ * (h1 – h2) = 30.14 * (3434.20 – 2273.08) = 34 996 kW = 35.00 MW

Solution of Example 2
p4 = p5 = p6 = p1 = 140 bar

From steam table:

{ p4 , t4 }  h4 = 221.37 kJ/kg

From steam table:

{ p5 , x5 = 0}  h5 = 1570.88 kJ/kg

From steam table:

{ p6 , x6 = 1}  h5 = 2638.09 kJ/kg

From steam table:

{ p1 , t1 }  h1 = 3434.20 kJ/kg

Q̇eco = ṁ ∗ (h5 − h4 ) = 30.14 ∗ (1570.88 − 221.37) = 40 674 kW = 40.67 MW

Q̇evap = ṁ ∗ (h6 − h5 ) = 30.14 ∗ (2638.09 − 1570.88) = 32 166 kW = 32.17 MW

Q̇sh = ṁ ∗ (h1 − h6 ) = 30.14 ∗ (3434.20 − 2638.09) = 23995 kW = 24.00 MW
