Dividing the site before the construction in different parts is called Pada vibhajana. The details of such
padas are mainly of 3 types. They are called Vastutraya Vibhaga.
Ekasiti Pada Vastu: Divide the selected site into 81 parts (i.e. 9*9=81). Leave nine places in the center for
Brahma. Six places to the left of Brahma are called Aryama. The 3 rd square from NE top is Jayanta. The 3
squares on the east are Indra, Ravi, Satya . Six squares to the south of Brahmasthana are Vivasvan. The 3
squares in the west are Gandantha, Yama and Gruha. Six squares to the west of Brahmasthana is Mitra.
The 3 square in the west are Asura, Varuna, Pushpadanta and the one in southwest is Sugriva. The six
squares to north of Brahmasthana are Prithvidhara. The 3 squares in the north are Bhallata, Soma and
Charaka. According to Samarangana Sutradhara Ekasiti pada vastu is shown as above.
This pada vinyasam is used for determining which direction the main door of the house should be.
South: Gruha and Ganda are good . Result: Mahatyam , development etc.,
West: Sugriva and Pushpadanta are good. . Result: Samsara labham and sadgunalu .
North: Bhallata and Soma are best. Result: Recognition for owner , yagna , karmadhana.
