I. Objectives: At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
1. Define and understand the Traditional Folk and Ethnic Dance.
2. Explain how traditional dance are important to the life of Filipino people.
3. Express ideas and perceptions about the classification of Philippine traditional Dance.
4. Perform different traditional dance based from their culture or practices.

II. Subject Matter: TRADITIONAL DANCE (FOLK AND ETHNIC)

III. Materials: Laptop, videos, TV

IV. Procedures:
a) Greetings.
b) Classroom cleanliness
c) Checking of Attendance
d) Motivation: Let the students analyze the images below for a minute, afterwards ask
them what they can say on the images.

e) Lesson Proper: The teacher discusses the following topic with the integration of
student’s idea and knowledge.

f) Activity: GROUP SHARING -Divide the students into two groups. Ask them to share the
traditional folk or ethnic dance they usually performed during community activities and
let them explain the relevance of the dance to their life.
V. GENERALIZATION: Folk Dance is a dance of a given country which evolved naturally and
spontaneously with everyday activities. Thus Folk and Ethnic Dances are very important in the
lives of every human since it reflect the culture, their beliefs and practices in that particular
country, place or community.

VI. Evaluation: Advice the students to answer the following questions below.

1. What is Traditional Dance?

2. Explain how traditional dance are important to the life of Filipino people.

VII. Assignment: Read in advance the Modern and Contemporary Dance for our next lesson.
