ALIGNMENT, SLEEVE SEATING AND TORQUE WRENCH USE

ARE CRITICAL TO COUPLING OPERATION

1. Position flanges and element on shafts. 3. Check angular alignment using caliper
Sleeve should be seated against both around circumference against backside
flanges but not compressed; G1 can be flange faces just inboard of OD radius;
used for reference. Lightly tighten set do not rotate coupling. Subtract
screws. If applicable, leave metal ring minimum measurement from maximum;
hanging at side. this should not exceed the figure under
“Angular” in Table 1. Recheck parallel
2. Check parallel alignment around alignment after any adjustment.
circumference using a straightedge and
feeler gauges; do not rotate coupling. 4. Using a torque wrench, tighten set
Maximum offset must not exceed the screws to values in Table 2.
figure under “Parallel” in Table 1.

5. For two-piece EPDM/Neoprene sleeve, 6. Install coupling guard per OSHA, ANSI
install ring using blunt tool. If necessary, and local standards.
soapy water can be used to ease ring
into place.

WARNING: Coupling must be guarded to OSHA, ANSI and local standards
