SUMMER TRAINING REPORT & VIVA VOCE

Course Code: 15MBA-1ST21D Credits: 04

Course Objective
The objective of the industrial training of the students is to make them aware of the work culture of an
enterprise along with understanding of the resources available, processes and other modes of
operations. Providing industrial training vis-à-vis hands-on experience is a must to mould an MBA
student to a full-fledged professional. The ultimate objective of the summer training and report writing
is to allow students to demonstrate their ability to specific situation using integrated approach.

Learning Outcomes
After the successful completion of the summer training and submission of the project report, students
should be able to:
 To apply multi-disciplinary concepts, tools and techniques to solve organizational problems during
summer training.
 Acquaint themselves with the actual work environment and to get them exposed to the latest
technological developments / advancements related to their work.
 Understand the importance of time, teamwork and discipline.
 Inculcate a sense of responsibility among them.
 Familiarize themselves with resources, processes etc and develop a favorable and positive attitude
towards work
 Seek hands-on experience.
 Understand the social, economic and administrative aspects that affect the working of an
organization.
 Explore and show case the talent acquired through summer training for future jobs.

Course Contents
All MBA students are required to submit a Project Report as a part of fulfillment of this course.

Pedagogy
Students are required to follow the below mentioned pattern in preparing the project:
Type of Project
The project may be from any of the following types, preferably from the area of specialization
 Comprehensive case study (covering single organization/multifunctional area problem,
formulation, analysis and recommendations).
 Inter-organizational study aimed at inter-organizational comparison/validation of theory/survey
of management practices.
 Field study (empirical study).
Format of the Report
The format that the students should follow while submitting the project report as follows:
 Title Page
 University certificate
 Supervisor/Guide certificate
 Organization’s / Company Certificate, from where the student did project
 Acknowledgment
 Index of contents with page numbers
Chapter Plan
Chapter 1. Introduction & Rationale for the Study
Chapter 2. Objectives, Scope & Limitations of the Study
Chapter 3. Profile of the Company
Chapter 4. Theoretical Perspective / Conceptual Framework
Chapter 5. Research Methodology
 Research Design
 Data collection methods/sources
 Sampling plan, which should include sampling unit, sampling size and sampling methods, viz
questionnaire methods interview methods observation etc.
Chapter 6. Data Analysis and Interpretations (using various charts and graphs)
Chapter 7. Findings and Conclusions
Chapter 8.Expected Contribution from the study and Future Scope.

Copies of questionnaire\ Copies of form(s) if any from the company

i) Project should be in Black cover Hard-Bound
ii) The total Number of pages of the entire project should be around 80-100
Font style – Times New Roman
Font Size for running matter – 12
Font size for Heading – 18
Font Size for Sub-heading – 16
Line Spacing – 1.5
iii) Students are guided to report to their respective guide at the earliest.
iv) Separate sheets should be used in between the Chapters containing Title and Chapter no.

Examination Scheme
The parameters to evaluate the project are:
a) Theme Selection b) Objectives of the study, c) Research Methodology, d) Data Collection and
Interpretation, e) Conclusion and Suggestions f) Viva/ Presentation, g) Written Presentation and h)
Industrial Learning.
