Studying abroad and Exchange programmes

Many teenagers dream about studying abroad or exploring a foreign country.

High school and university is a great time to spread your wings and discover the
world.
Study abroad programmes offer ambitious and curious students an opportunity
to became global citizens as their complete their high school education.
Exchange students can choose to spend a summer, a semester or even a year
living and studying abroad.
Hundreds of programmes are available through organisations like CIEE, the
Rotary Club and Erasmus. CIEE (Council on International Educational Exchange)
offers programmes in Australia, Brazil, Chile, China, Costa Rica, France, German,
Ireland, Italy, Japan and Spain. Students get to live with a host family, attend a
local or private high school, and participate in community activities.
Rotary Youth Exchange offers both short and long-term programmes that allow
teenagers to live with host families abroad, go to school, take tours, attend an
international camp, or do an internship in more than 150 countries and
geographical areas. The Erasmus programme is an initiative run by the European
Union (EU). It provides opportunities for university students to study or gain work
experience in a different European country while completing a degree. These
organisations and lots more are online so try a Web search if you are interested.
Whether students spend a summer, a semester or a year living and studying in
another country, they are sure to have a meaningful and life-changing
experience.
There are many benefits, including the chance to learn another language, and
to experience life within a different culture. If students value growth, believe in the
