Objective
Coordinate 8 Womens workshop themes in the first quarter which will contribute to the fol-
lowing SDGs - Gender Equality, Good Health and Wellbeing, Reduced Inequalities, Partner-
ships for the Goals and Decent Work and Economic Growth.

Summary
It is well known that empowering women is a must to reduce poverty and achieve gender
equality; activities which have ripple effects seen through reduced mortality rates, increased
emphasis on education, higher household incomes and much more. This is where the stu-
dents from Endicott Collage and our Womens Empowerment volunteers have put their ef-
forts in January and contributed by facilitating workshops in first-aid, general health and hy-
giene, CV-writing, interview skills and budgeting.

Report
January has been an action filled month and great ac-
complishments have been achieved at our Womens Em-
powerment Project in the Gordons Bay Hub. During this
month, our students from Endicott Collage, followed by
our Womens Empowerment volunteers, have devel-
oped four workshop themes which has been delivered
through 12 separate workshops. By placing focus on first-
aid training, general health and hygiene, CV-writing and
interview skills and budgeting we are empowering the
women to take control in emergencies, ensure health
and well-being for themselves and their families whilst
increasing their employability. What is easy to forget is
the social network and confidence these women develop
whilst participating in our workshop and how these sup-
port group makes our initiatives sustainable.

To begin some of our workshops, our volunteers encourage the women to stand in front of
the group and introduce themselves, to break the ice and better get to know one another.
This has been an amazing element and fascinating to witness the womens growth from being
nervous and hesitant when saying their name to confidently be able to speak in front of the
group and talking about their strengths. The women are also taking more active roles in facil-
itating discussions and sharing their personal experiences when it comes to applying for jobs,
being interviewed, and managing their household budget which creates inspiring collabora-
tion between all participants.

What makes this project so unique is the great variety of topics which has been requested by
the community and later discussed with the women who engage with our program. These
diverse topics relates to many of the UNs Sustainable Development Goals including gender
