    The
    Thanksgiving
    Story
    We will continue
    a study on the
    Pilgrims and the
    First Thanksgiving this week.
    Students will learn about the
    Mayflower voyage and the first
    settlements in the New World.
    We will discuss how the Pilgrims
    and the Native Americans
    worked together and celebrated
    the first harvest together. We
    will make a bracelet with colored bead that will represent
    the sequence of
    events in the
    Thanksgiving
    Story.

    Reading
    We will not have a weekly story or
    spelling words this week due to the short
    week. We will continue with Unit 3 next
    Monday, Nov. 28th. We will work with
    text from our Social Studies unit on The
    First Thanksgiving to
    practice and improve the
    reading skills Main Idea
    and Key Details.

    Math News
    GO MATH Chapter 4
    Two Digit Addition
    We will continue with Chapter
    4 this week. Students will apply
    place value when using a breakapart strategy for 2-digit addition
    and model 2-digit addition with
    regrouping.
    NOTE: Chapter 4 HW packet
    due date is November 30th.
    *Math words: sum, added, tens,
    and hundreds.
    We will continue taking timed addition fluency tests on Tuesday of next
    week. The deadline for mastering
    addition facts is December 16th!!
