Course Description:
The course is wellness oriented and emphasizes responsible decision-making for a
healthy lifestyle. The purpose of this course is to provide students with the knowledge,
skills, and values they need to become healthy and physically active for a life time. The
course addresses both the health and skill-related components of physical fitness which
are critical for student success. The course is designed to produce health literate students
that make sound decisions and take positive actions for healthy and effective living.

Classroom Materials: Notebook, pen, pencil, paper, highlighters, colored pencils.


Dressed Out Materials: School purchased uniform, socks preferred, athletic sneakers for
running.
Locker Materials: Store bought Combination Lock, Deodorant, towel, soap, School
P.E. uniforms, socks, sneakers.
Student Expectations:
*Students are expected to dress out AND actively participate in order to receive full
points for the day.
*Students are expected to complete all assignments on time.
*Students are expected to arrive to class on time. Tardy students will not receive the full
amount of Points for the day. Absences may have the opportunity to make up
work as per school policy. Grading is on a point system.

Evaluation:

There will be a Midterm exam (1st. semester) and Final exam 2nd semester) for this
course.

Common Core State Standards

The Syllabuss timeline can be altered due to unforeseen changes during the school
year.

This is your first grade for the term. It is worth 30 points. Have it turned in by
Friday 8/29/16. After that, you will not receive full credit.
