woman to recognize and serve our Lord.
Also, at our November meeting we will decide on the best
ways to support the women of the Walter Hoving Home, a
faith-based rehabilitation center. A tour of the facility will
also be planned.
Women, you are all invited to join us. We will meet at

THE EMMAUS AWAKENING

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 15, ST. JOHNS UMC, KINGMAN, AZ
11:00am 2:00pm
You have become a beloved Child of God, and said yes to His Call. But what is that Call? You have a lot of other
stuff going on in your life. God thinks you are very special and sometimes you dont feel or act special at all. How can
you connect with Gods Plan for you? The Emmaus Community is all about making that connection. You are invited to
join new Emmaus members, legacy Emmaus people, and a group of people who, like yourself, dont know much
about Emmaus, but want to discover how they can live out Gods Purpose. This is not a discussion about what you
should be doing. God is more interested in what you could be doing as part of His Church. Dont grab your calendar looking for time to volunteer for something. Grab your Bible and spend some time listening to what God wants for
you, and for His Church of which you are a critical part. Worship, prayer, singing, engaging discussion, lunch, sharing,
listening, thinking, and quietly becoming someone you want to be. Its a revival without the tent and youll meet some
other people who are thinking like you, struggling like you, praying like you, hoping like you, and being loved, just like
you. For more information or carpooling and transportation support,
contact Beth Blackwood [email protected] or visit the web site: www.SNWE.org

FAMILY PROMISE
DSUMC SAFE PLACES
TO SLEEP CAMPAIGN
You can provide a Homeless Family with a comfortable
bed and help them in their transition to regular housing.
Desert Spring United Methodist Church will Host Family
Promise Guests for 4 weeks in 2015. Weve been blessed
in the past to borrow air beds from the Southern Nevada
Walk to Emmaus Community, and now its time that we
find our own resources to help in this effective ministry.
Our recommended donation of $65 to DSUMC/Family
Promise provides a bed for the 4 weeks of safe sleeping at
DSUMC for someone dedicated to changing their life .
Your donation allows that person to sleep safely with their
Mom, Son, Daughter or Dad; a huge benefit and quite a
change from the policy at local Homeless Shelters. Maybe
you are not able to spend $65.00 right now but still would
like to help. Its not critical to stick to the recommended
amount. With a donation of any amount, you can still be a
part of the success of Family Promise here at Desert Spring
UMC. For details, contact our Family Promise Coordinator Bob Lathrop 702-703-4776 [email protected].
Make your checks payable to Desert Spring UMC and be
sure to write Family Promise in the note line on your
check. Our Family Promise Guests Thank You For Living
Out Your Faith!

PLEASE HELP US PREPARE

A WELCOMING SPACE
FOR OUR WORSHIPERS
ON SUNDAY MORNINGS!
God sends hundreds of people to Desert
Spring Church every Sunday morning to
worship. Please help us welcome them by ensuring our
property is clean and beautiful! We are recruiting a
Sunday Morning Prep Team to help. Team members
will arrive Sundays at 7:00am and complete a few odd
jobs around the campus.
Here is a sample:
-Leaf blowing of the patios and walkways
-Placing of signs and patio furniture
-Trash pickup at the overflow parking area
-General final touches to the property
Most jobs will take place outdoors. Contact Ann Hardy at
(702)540-1644 or [email protected].
Thank you so much for your consideration in joining
this team.
