02.02 Water shall be used as general test fluid. In special case
as per line list air can be used as a test medium.
These cases generally relate to large bore pipe.
02.03 Clean water, with a chloride content of less than or
equal to 250pm shall be used to hydrostatic test
whilst water with a chloride content of less than or
equal to 30ppm shall be used for circuit or
individual lines of stainless steel before starting of
hydrostatic test water certificate will be submitted
to S. D. consequently, every months, supplied
water sample will be sent to approved laboratory
to confirm the chloride content, whenever
required by the client.
02.04 The minimum water temperature during the hydrostatic
testing shall be ambient temperature.
03.00
APPLICATION OR PRESSURE
03.01 NCC shall put the circuit or line to be tested under
pressure by venting, in case of a hydrostatic test.
Any air, which may still be present in the circuit by
using
vent valves if provide or by partly
disconnecting connections in the top part of the
circuit if there are vent valves.
03.02 It must be remembered that, the test pressure shall only
be reached by the pressure gauge in the lowest
part of the circuit. Pressurising of system shall be
done in increment of 25% or as designed by the
employer at the time of testing.
