Feliz navidad! Happy Holidays!

Vieneel Mercado LMES. When we return from our Winter Break, it will be almost time
for our annual market! It will be held for all Spanish classes the week of January 27 31st. (Please remember that our strings students do not attend Spanish.) Very soon, a schedule and volunteer sign-up sheet will be posted on our web site and forwarded to our email contacts. In the meantime, clean out those toy chests and drawers (kids meal toys, trinkets, gently used toys) and bring stuff in for our market to make room for all the new stuff that your kids will be getting during the gift-giving season! Remember that again this year, we will be asking our Spanish students to use their pesos not only to buy something for themselves, but also to donate to a needy child through GOoDworks in memory of LMES dear friend, Sue Madden. Muchas gracias! Seoras Gonzlez & Fultz

Technology Showcase: Sneak Peek

Students are creating slide shows, videos, and collages on iPads about the content they are studying in class. Due in part to successful fundraising efforts last year, each grade level has an iPad cart to use with students. Teachers are choosing samples of the technology projects and posting them on our school web site. Some of the projects are already posted, and more projects will be completed for all grade levels in January. Take a sneak peek by following this link and then visit again in January! http://www.lexrich5.org/LakeMurray.cfm? subpage=90168&adminActivate=1

Lake Murray Elementary 2014 Career Fair Thursday, January 30 7:30 - 10:15 am

Wanted:
Working parents & volunteers willing to share three hours of their time to excite children about their futures.
What do you have to do? Bring pictures, tools, or information about your career to share at an exhibit with our 3rd through 5th graders. Students will come by your exhibit and ask questions about your career. Why a career fair in elementary school? In anything, goals are important. While a childs career goals will change numerous times throughout his/her life, having something that youre looking forward to in the future keeps you motivated in your present. Also, its important for students to learn about the many career opportunities an dhow you can turn something thats fun into a lifelong job! Interested? E-mail Mrs. Sitsch at [email protected]. Please ensure that you put Career Fair in the subject line. Or, call Mrs. Sitsch at 476-4605. Please contact her by January 16th.
