Special School Luigj Gurakuqi

The first whole month that we went to the Luigj Gurakuqi School passed so quickly hmmm It happens like this when you like what are you doing because we have no words to explain how wonderful the kids are. At school there as a lot to do from playing simply board games, watching cartoons to drawing, but during this month mostly of the time we were focus on decoration school. Together with the lovely art teacher we hanged childrens pictures in the corridor and we became master of walls painting and nailing. But also we were so active in the physical education lesson. We were playing soccker, basketball or just were running with kids. We have enjoyed every moment with the kids and staff.

November.2012

Even the children of the L.G. have made their contribution to the celebrations in honor of 100 years of independence of Albania. Not with large statues or large parties, they did it with music. The children sang for us some of the most popular patriotic songs in Albania, it was wonderful to see with what joy they were happy to share this moment with us. Thank you for the most welcoming celebration.

Against Fascism/Anti-Semitism
International day against facism and antisemitism.
9.11.2012

After the Nazis came to power in Germany in 1933, Jews were subjected to increasingly discriminatory treatment accompanied by organised violence. On November 9th 1938, the Nazis started a pogrom against the Jews. Jewish shops had their windows smashed across the country, which gave rise to the name "Kristallnacht", which freely translated means the Night of Broken Glass. Many Jews were physically attacked too. The "Kristallnacht" pogrom is usually seen as the symbolic beginning of the Holocaust. The International Day against Fascism and AntiSemitism is an annual commemoration of the 'Kristallnacht' pogrom that occurred on the

November 9th, 1938. European volunteers of the organization have prepared a short film with film sequences with well-known films about Fascism. We are always used to think about fascism as a very far away age, with black and white pictures and strange men with elegant uniforms. Sometimes we forget that when we talk about the Second World War we also talk about families, men, women and children. The message inside the movie was about the wrong direction that the society can take even nowadays. What can we do for don't repeat it again?

After walking around the crowed city and getting squeezed in the big crowds of people we decided to have dinner in Beerhouse. After the dinner the plan was to go and enjoy Rita Ora singing but unfortunately it started to rain extremely hard so the show, at least for us, was not a good idea and we went home.
