Question: How much water do mung daal seeds need each week?
Hypothesis: Mung daal needs water once a week.
Method:
First we soaked the seeds in water for 1 night.
Then we planted 20 seeds each in 4 tissues. Next we labeled each tissue with the amount of water it will get each week. 1st tissue was labeled no water 2nd tissue was labeled once a week. 3rd tissue was labeled thrice a week. 4th tissue was labeled every day.
Now we will see what happens. Will the hypothesis be proved right? Or will the mung daal seeds need more or less water than that?
We did 2 experiments at the same time with our Mung Daal. One was Saloni’s and one was Ritika’s, but it was still only one experiment. We did it at the same time and we did it the same thing just to confirm if the results are the same. We kept it for a week and a half, but in the end, Saloni’s died and Ritika’s didn’t start growing yet. So we decided that we wouldn’t continue the experiment. We think that this happened because of the amount of sunlight- Saloni’s had too much sunlight and Ritika’s had too little sunlight. The next time we conduct a Mung Daal experiment we will change it by putting the seeds in a wet sponge and wet it every-day. Maybe it will work because when we soaked it in the water it grew very well.
