The Mind Control of Media

By Dillon Lee
English 1st period
The media
influences us
by posting
things that
affect how their
audiences think
and behave.
INTRO TO
MEDIA
WHAT IS MEDI
Media is generally
the various means
of communication.
For example,
television, radio, and
the newspaper are
different types of
media.
Advertising
Advertising is a type of
communication that wants to
pursue the audience to take action
on products and services.
There are many ways of
advertising. Some examples are:
Television advertising
Radio advertising
Press advertising
Online advertising
In- Store advertising
repetition
• Repetition is the
act of repeating
• Repetition is the
whole key to
advertising
• Repetition is
what helps
things be more
memorable
The media controls
.
us by attacking us
at a young age
Children
represent great
targets for
advertisers and
marketers
across the
world.
BOLD COLORS
ADVERTISERS USE BRIGHT AND
Colors generally attract
attention and have a
strong affect on
everyone. It brings inner
thoughts, feelings, and
makes things more
memorable.

• Many companies
invest millions to find
out which colors go
well with their projects

• Academic researches
show that color is the
first characteristic
that children can
distinguish

• Research indicates
that children's eyes
may not be adapted to
see dull, dim colors
very well or at all.
One way the media controls us is
how they spoil us as children
 Advertisers
purposely post
images that
attract children
to their
products. This
makes them
pester their
parents until
they buy what
they want.
The television is a strong
influence to how kids act
 Children have become more
interested in cartoons over many
years
 It has become a primary action in
some lives
 Kids watch a lot of TV at a young
age where some shows are violent
and can teach the wrong things
 Kids who watch too much cartoons
on television are more likely to have
mental and emotional problems
 Since the television can be a big
part of some kids lives, they start to
imitate what they see on screen

The media emphasizes many things.

 Whether its people or food

the media always finds its
way on emphasizing
something.
 When you think about a model
you’ll probably picture he/she very
good looking because the media
tends to emphasizes the looks of
people
 Some photographers have
explained how they edit the pictures
of models to emphasize the body
parts and attract audiences.
$ELLING LIES FOR MONEY
When you see a McDonald's ad, you’ll
think the food is fresh, healthy , and
have good value, but in reality it
doesn’t.

When you watch an Axe body spray

commercial you might think that
spraying yourself with their product
will immediately get you a date with
beautiful models, but in reality it
probably won’t.

The media can control how we think

by giving us emphasized images of
how some things should look.

Rely on the news
 One of the strongest
ways we get our
information is from
the news. It tells us the
important things that
are going around us
and on the world.
Negative Results
 The problem of the
news is that it
usually reports
the negative things
that go around us.
This can control
your mind and
make you feel that
the world is bad.
STEREOTYPES
 Another problem
that the news could
bring is
stereotypes. For
example, you could
misjudge a race if
you see them
commit more
crimes than others.
