Happy Holidays

We know there are lots of them so we wish you happy celebrations. No matter how or with whom you celebrate, please know we are sending you warm wishes.

We got an early present that included one of those famous catnip bananas. Daiquiri was pretty excited. Boba got a turn.

Then Buttons got her paws on.

In other news, the fountain is a success. No ad or anything, but it's an Elfin and we think we've seen it on sale.

Please take care of yourself this season and be safe.

Harness training

Mom would like to get Boba trained to wear a harness and go outside. Miss Emily at  Kitty Cat Go is a trained behaviorist and offered an online course.

Mom is put a harness on kittens before and also on Chanel. Boba though is a tough nut. She has lots of opinions and things need to be her idea. So to get some tips and trick and also support Miss Emily, she signed up.

That said, mom admits she hasn't been as on the ball with training as she should be. Thankfully Boba is food motivated.

After a few introduction steps, mom got the harness on:

After a few more tries, mom moved to a new plan and bought a different harness. The one above needs Boba to put her legs through and secures on top.

The new one sits on her back and velcros under her neck and stomach. She still needs more time to get used to it, but at least mom doesn't have to wrestle her to get it on.

Hapoy Birthday Boba

 The baby turns one today.

Hard to believe she used to be that little.

Boba is certainly one of a kind and keeps us all on our toes. She will snuggle with mom at night. Hates to have her nails trimmed. Taught herself to play fetch. Has figured out the food puzzle. And has opinions about EVERYTHING.

Happy birthday sweet girl.

Oranges and food puzzles

The oranges were all spayed and neutered on Friday. Next step adoptions. We did get a couple kittens wrong: Seville is a girl and Cara is a boy so now maybe CC).

Tangelo and CC

Mom broke out the food puzzle again and this time Boba figured out all the doors that were closed (2 of them).

Chanel was a little more confused by the puzzle. She can get treats out of the open doors then relies in Boba to open the other doors. Which isn't exactly how it's supposed to work but points for figuring it out in her own way.

Another week

The girls are looking better but still on meds and being lyme sulphur dipped. (For those not familiar, they are dipped in a dilution with water and allowed to dry. And they smell terrible until they dry - think rotten eggs times 100). Hopefully this will be the last week of dips. Meds  will be over shortly  too then just waiting for a negative test.

Mary

Sarah and Winifred

Getting pictures is hard since mom isn't spending a lot of time with them to avoid spreading the ringworm spores.

------------

There has been some cursing here. Mom switched cell phone carriers and had to get a new phone. The switch wasn't terrible but she is still getting used to the new phone.

--------------

Boba remains quite the ham. She can be a bit much at times...she is pretty smart and gives mom a run for her money.

For our US friends, have a nice holiday week.

Unexpected

Well it turns out the girls have ringworm. They are on meds and have been Lyme sulphur dipped twice (once more tomorrow). And they are obviously quarantined in the foster room since its contagious. They are displeased....haha. The bath was bad (and stinky) but they really hate being pulled twice a day.

Sarah

But they get run of the foster room which is better than a cage for 3 weeks minimum. Though mom does wish Sarah would learn to stop yelling during work meetings.

--------------

Speaking of work meetings, Boba has decided that is the best time to play her favorite game -fetch. She taught herself and mom is slowly working on targeting to get her to drop the ball in a better place than under the office chair. Despite given options, her favorite toy is a very beat up green foam soccer ball. Mom has thrown a couple of others, but that one is Boba's favorite (she will also chase a spring toy but that is down the hall not down the stairs). She starts the game 3-3 tines per day and will chase it several times.

The orange is strong

OK so we all hear the one about orange cats sharing one brain cell. Pretty sure Zep and Gelato have gotten out of line. Biscotti is pretty good but those other two....
