Layered, mixed media flower card with gelli background and stamps

Hello, this time I am up with a slimline mixed media flower card share over at the Rubber Dance blog. For this card I used a stenciled and gelli printed background paper that I created & used also on my previous projects (for example here). For the card I used the Loose Florals stamp set, as well as the Mix It Up 6 stamp set and the Round In Circles stamp set.

For the background gelli paper I used acrylic paints with Marks 2 stencil. You can find the video to that in the post linked above.

First I cut the gelli printed paper into right size to match my card base. Then I stamped with the Round In Circles stamp set stamp some circles on top of the gelli image with salvaged patina and spiced marmalade Distress Oxide Inks. After that I grabbed the Mix It Up 6 stamp set and black stamp ink and added some random stamping on top for additional interest and contrast.

After that I stamped some Loose Florals with black stamp ink onto white paper and colored them very loosely with watercolors and fussy cut them.

Finally I added some golden and silver ink droplets onto the fussy cut flowers as well as onto the background. Then I arrenged the flowers onto the card, added a chipboard sentiment and some half pearls for decor.

I had so much fun creating this card. It has quite a few layers again and happy, bold colors. I hope it makes it´s recipient happy and also inspired you to grab your stamp and stencil stash a play a little!!
Have fun! xxx, Sanna

Present tags with Sketchy Flowers #3 using embossing powders and watercolors

Hello everyone, it´s Sanna here with two present tags using the Sketchy Flowers #3 stamp set with embossing powders and watercolors. I wanted to create cute present tags with kraft cardstock and pastel tones for springtime.

I first stamped the big flower image from the Sketchy Flowers #3 stamp set onto one side of the tag with embossing ink and applied three tones of embossing ink onto the image (see the full video tutorial at the end of this post). I used light blue, yellow and white on the first tag and light pink, light blue and yellow on the second. To add more interest to the background, I took white watercolor and a wet paint brush to add splatters.

Next I fussy cut a piece of gelli printed paper (see my previous posts for the tutorial) as a border and combined it with a cute ribbon. After that I painted a piece of watercolor paper with similar colors like the previously used embossing powders. I added a heat embossed flower image onto the paper, fussy cut them and then assemblied the tags. For finishing touches I used sentiments from the said stamp set with grey stamp ink on the residue watercolor paper left over from the flowers and adhered them onto place. And here is the video step-by-step tutorial:

I hope I could inspire you to create some fun tags!! You don´t have to use them for presents, you could create a few in bulk and use them in art journals, on cards as a focal point or add them into a frame as wall art for example.

Happy crafting,

Mixed Media cutouts – kreativt_uttrykk

Hello everyone!! My design team colleague at Rubber Dance Art Stamps has designed some cool mixed media cutouts and I was able to play around with them a litte.

First of all, go to her INSTA PAGE for awesome inspiration and more details on her various social media sites. Also, you can buy her cutouts in various sets (in different colours) over HERE (her Etsy-page).

And now to what I made:

I did a clean and simple style card with a tag on it that features the blue-toned cutouts. I added some details with a red Posca pen and a leftover strip of red gelli printed paper to go with all the blues and blacks. The sentiment stamps are by Rubber Dance, by the way. I also wanted to see how te cutouts would look like against a darker background, so I used a black paper bag that I decorated with several images from the “kit”.

On the background of the paper bag I have used some white and rose gold watercolor splatters for additional interest as well as a tiny red detail on the tree added with a Posca pen. The sentiment is again by Rubber Dance.

I will be sharing more inspiration here in a few days time, so do come back for more projects created with Åshild Halvorsen´s mixed media cutouts :).
Happy crafting,

Clean and simple card with stenciling

Hello and happy Friday! Here is another card share – this time in clean and simple style with some stenciling on it.

The stenciling is done with a STAMPlorations stencil – from my line there and red Distress Ink. On top of that I have added a page from 2023 Artist Almanac and a hand drawn watercolor flower and two leaves. The sticker is by Simple Stories and the puff heart is from my older stash.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look! If you are interested in seeing more of my hand drawn embellishments/fodder, go to my YouTube channel. I am posting my #the100dayproject2024 there every day with something hand drawn.

Happy weekend and happy crafting,
xxx, Sanna
