Hi friends, it’s Samantha! The current challenge is all about those sweet, cute and happy holiday critters, so this time, I decided to make a card with the adorable penguins!

I stamped and colored the images from Penguin Party and Toboggan Together and then colored them in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I thought it would be so fun to try something different and make the penguins bright and happy in yellow! So fun! I added some details with a white gel pen to finish them off!

I die cut out the frame from Peekaboo Backdrop in white and then popped it up with foam tape. I used Distress Oxide Inks in Pine Needles, Peacock Feathers and Salvaged Patina to add color to the square and rectangle windows for the winter sky. Then I splattered some white acrylic in on top to mimic snow!

I also used the Stitched Hillside Borders to die cut out some hills of snow for behind the frame. I added a very light blending of Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink to the tops so the hills would match the blue tint of the snowballs and snow cones.

I finished the card off by popping up some of the penguins and then sprinkling some silver sequins around the adorable winter scene!

Thank you, Samantha for putting the spotlight on these adorable penguins for the Holiday Critters challenge!

Hey friends, it’s Christy here with another card for our Holiday Critters Challenge! I don’t know if snowmen can technically be considered critters, but the snow dog and snow cat certainly are! I have been so excited to play with the adorable Frosty Family stamp set and the Frosty Family Add-on, I just had to ink it up.

I added in accessory images from Christmas Dreams, Ho-Ho-Holidays, and Baaah Humbug and stamped them in Jet Black Ink. Then I colored them with Copic markers and trimmed them out with their matching dies.

Next, I took a panel of Bristol Cardstock and blended on Distress Oxide Inks, starting in the upper center with Tumbled Glass, then Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch, and finally Black Soot. I did some splatter detail with water, Blueprint Sketch, and white acrylic paint, and set that aside to dry.

Then I cut the Spooky Forest Backdrop and a Simple Stitched Hillside Border out of white cardstock, and added a bit of frosty glow to them with Copic markers. I also die cut the Scripty Hugs from Barn Red Cardstock and white heat embossed the rest of my sentiment onto Black Licorice Cardstock and trimmed that out with an Everyday Sentiment Banner.

I layered my inked background onto the card base, added the snow drift, and then popped up the Spooky Forest Backdrop with foam tape. I added my images with foam tape and liquid glue, then added my sentiment, and finished off the card with some Stardust Stickles.

If you’d like to see the whole process of creating this card, you can check out the video tutorial on my YouTube channel, Christy Gets Crafty. I really hope you e enjoy it! And if you haven’t yet played along with our Holiday Critters Challenge, there’s still time! We can’t wait to see what you create!

Thank you so much, Christy, for sharing these cute and frosty holiday “critters”!

Catherine gets the Design Team inspiration started with the cutest critters reading some holiday classics! She combined Little Woodland Library with Stitched Christmas Tree Frame to make a totally delightful holiday card!

Catherine used the Stitched Rounded Rectangle Stackables sets to make a Candy Cane Lane layer and a Sunburst Backdrop layer with rounded corners. Next, she cut the Stitched Christmas Tree Frame and the shelves from Purrfectly Wicked to fashion a tree-shaped bookcase, so clever! Then she filled the shelves with books from Little Woodland Library, Den Sweet Den and Purrfectly Wicked.

She also added ornaments to the shelves in pink and red Candy Cane Lane patterns. For the ornaments, she combined the fancy ornaments from Build-A-Christmas Tree with the round ornaments from Stitched Christmas Tree Frames. Now there is a place to tie a thin gold bow to each one.

Catherine stamped the greeting that combines Henry’s Build-A-Sentiment: Winter with a phrase from Little Woodland Library in Lobster ink on Everyday Sentiment Banners. And then she added the stars of the show, the holiday critters!

This card is just too cute and so creative, Catherine! Thank you so much for sharing with us!
