Spectacular Skies with Just Dies!

Hi, it’s Nancy hoping to inspire you today! I have always wanted to make a card with just dies. I have come close, but I always wind up stamping the sentiment. So for our Spectacular Skies challenge I made a fun Foursquare Backrop: Portrait design with cute little sky vignettes!

I die cut almost all the pieces from Bristol Smooth cardstock and used Copic markers to add color. Just the palm tree trunk (from Tropical Backdrop) is die cut from Woodgrain cardstock and the cloud from white cardstock. The cloud, moon and sun are included in the Foursquare Backdrop: Portrait die set. The little rainbow is from Shadow Box Card Rainbow Add-on and the raindrops are the Rainy Backdrop!

I used a Clear Star Gelly Roll pen to add the “stars” to the moon vignette and I used silver glitter cardstock behind the raindrops. And I used Sending Hugs Line Border for the win as the die cut sentiment! Yay!

Our Spectacular Skies challenge will be open until Sunday May 3 at 11:59PM ET. The gallery is filling with the most wonderful creativity. We can’t wait to see what you will share!

Christy’s Dandy Little Scene

Hey friends, it’s Christy here with another card for our Spectacular Skies Challenge! Today I wanted to create a little sunrise scene, and I thought the sweet mice from Dandy Day would be the perfect accompaniment. I colored them all with Copics and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For my background I used the Cloudy Stencil with some Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide Ink, then splattered on a little Liquid Stardust to give it a touch of shimmer. I trimmed it down with the Stitched Party Banner die and cut down the top with the Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables to get it to the size I wanted.

I also cut down a piece of Noble Fir cardstock with the Stitched Party Banner and used the Grassy Border across the top. I stamped my sentiment across the bottom with Black Licorice Ink and added some dandelion fluff to the background while I was at it, and adhered the two pieces together with liquid glue. I added my images to complete the scene.

On my card base, I glued down a piece of yellow dandelion patterned paper from the Dandy Day 6×6 pad, and also a pretty plaid from the Perfectly Plaid Spring 6×6 pad, both trimmed down with the Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables. I added double-sided foam tape to the back of the focal panel and popped that up for a little dimension. As a finishing touch, I dabbed a little Stardust Stickles on the heads of the dandelion seeds.
