Holiday Clause from Kindred Stamps - 2 Cards for the New Release!

Friday, October 27, 2023

It's time for a new release from Kindred Stamps today! I am so excited to share the Holiday Clause stamp set with two fun cards. One is a spinner card and the other has my favorite North Pole duo. For my duo card, I started with ink blending my sky with blue inks and added my die cut tree line. I added some splatter to help give the background a little more interest. I wanted to make a workshop, so I used the Barn Dies to give that look behind my stamped duo. To finish off the card, I stamped my sentiment on a strip and added it above my stamped and fussy cut characters.

For my second card I die cut a circle out of my card base front and lined up my patterned paper and cut the circle so my card front would have some color. I stamped my sentiment towards the bottom and embossed it in white embossing powder. I die cut two smaller circles in white cardstock and stenciled on cookies (sorry, this is a retired stencil set! Kindred Stamps brought it back for this release!) with brown inks.

Using gold string, I added a strong from the top and bottom of the circle on my card base and adhered it in place. Then I adhered my patterned paper, lining up the circle opening. Finally, I glued my circles to sandwich the string in between. I adhered my characters - one on each side of the cookie circles. For just a few more touches, I added a garland die cut just under the circle and above the sentiment and added some Pops of Color in glitter colors for some shine!

I hope these bring you some inspriation and you have lots of fun shopping!

Magic Wheel Spinner Card with Whimsy Stamps

Friday, April 28, 2023

Today is the next Card Hoppin' Video Hop over on YouTube and our April theme is "Complementary Colors" and the technique is "Easel or Spinner Card." I made a background earlier this month with blue and orange that I was planning to use for this project and you can see that post and video here! I also decided to pick Spinner Card as my project as I had a die set called the Magic Wheel from Whimsy Stamps that was sitting in my crafty stash unused.

In my video I walk through how I die cut my stenciled design and created my background as well as how I assembled my Magic Wheel die cuts. As I discuss in my video today, I definitely had some trouble with this die set. I had watched an assembly video prior to using it myself, but I made two Magic Wheels and the first one just completely did not work. I was able to salvage my card and my second Magic Wheel was much better and I share that one in my video. But I think the embossing powder made the wheel a bit hard to use.

Have you used this die before? Let me know your tips and tricks! I definitely need to use it again in the future and maybe try something a little more simple to really give a good review. Be sure to watch the video over on YouTube so you can click the hop hashtag and see all of the inspiration from other crafters on this hop!

Spooky Bat Spinner Card with Scrapbook.com

Saturday, July 30, 2022

It's (almost) the last day of the month so I'm bringing you some Halloween inspiration! I'm participating in a hop tomorrow, so wanted to share it a day early because I think it's so cute. It's a bat spinner card! You twist the bat around and around with the string and close the card. Once the card receiver opens the card, the bat spins around! It's so fun!

I am using Scrapbook.com products for this card - lots of great paper, dies, stamps and alphabet stickers. I kept the color scheme to black, yellow and orange so match the new alphabet sticker pack (coming soon)! I hope you'll watch the video below to see how my card came together AND to see it in action.
