Holiday Hugs Christmas Card with Crafty Meraki

Saturday, December 14, 2024

Hi Friends! I'm sharing a holiday card over on the Crafty Meraki YouTube Channel today! They're counting down to Christmas with lots of amazing videos of card ideas and I'm so excited to be a part of the countdown. I was gifted this adorable stamp set and coordinating die as well as some lovely embellishments. I used the colors of the embellishments to inspire my color choices.

While I did color and die cut my images before recording my video (otherwise my video might have been an hour long), I'll walk you through how I created my background, added in my images and lots of fun embellishments. I think this card turned out so cute and I just love these adorable images! Let me know if you'd like to see another card with the rest of the images from the stamp set in a future video on my own channel.

Woodland Critters Birthday Card with Simon Hurley create.

Friday, November 22, 2024

I'm so excited with how cute this birthday card turned out! I have a quick video down below featured on the Ranger Ink Instagram, but I am only showing mostly how my background came together. I started with hot foiling my sentiment and used the coordinating die to cut it out. Next I stamped my images and colored them in with alcohol markers, then cut them out with their coordinating dies.

I started with an A2 white cardstock panel and ink blended green and brown inks. Then I stamped my background images and I used some A2 nesting dies to cut out a smaller panel. I adhered the smaller panel to a die cut panel of brown cardstock. I glued the frame created from the background onto the card base and adhered the panel to other card. Then I glued down my images and sentiment down. I just love how sweet this card turned out - make sure to go comment on Ranger's Instagram so they keep having me make videos!

For the Swifties! Three Cards with Spellbinders

Saturday, November 2, 2024

Happy Fandom Friday on a Saturday! I ended up making THREE cards for my video today, so it took me a little longer than normal so I need the extra time to get this edited and up this weekend. I am making Taylor Swift inspired cards - three different albums inspired my projects and I'm using stamps, dies, press plates and hot foil plates from new Spellbinders Collections: Beads of Friendship and Shine Bright.

The three albums that inspired my cards are Lover, Reputation and Speak Now - definitely leaned into the color schemes for these albums and you can watch my video down below to see the process for each card. For Lover, I just absolutely love the heart hands and foiling on shimmery paper. I think the design looks so fun and is the perfect bestie card. Reputation has silver, black, white and grey with a pop of red from the bracelets. I used one of the songs from the album to add a sentiment to the bracelets.

Speak Now is my favorite of the three cards! I love all the purple and white on white background. I used an embossing folder to give the panel some dimension and did a mix of foiling, ink and Astro Paste for the disco balls. I also used a song title to add a word to the bracelets. I hope these cards bring a smile to your face today! Let me know which one is your favorite in the comments.

Background Ideas with the Spellbinders October 2024 Clubs

Tuesday, October 29, 2024

I finally got some projects made with my Spellbinders October 2024 Clubs. I'm embarrassed it took me this long to get some cards made, but like I talked about in my previous video... Life has been CRAZY busy. I had a major accomplishment today at work, so I finally feel like I'm cresting the difficult mountain I've been on and things will start falling more into a rhythm soon.

But anyway, back to my video! I'm sharing how I used a few of the October 2024 Spellbinders Clubs to create 5 different backgrounds. I use the 3D Embossing Folder, Stencils, BetterPress and Glimmer Hot Foil but brought in all of the Clubs in some way over all of the five, final cards. You can see in my video down below how I created beach of my backgrounds.

For the pink bunny slippers card: I added a foiled sentiment (from BetterPress), die cut slippers and legs (from Large Die) and added texture to the pajamas (with Embossing Folder). My Christmas lights card: I colored in the foiled lights with alcohol makers and added a foiled sentiment (from BetterPress) as well as a Wax Seal. The polar bear card: I used the large foiled sentiment (from Glimmer) with my adorable bear (Die).

My pink critters card: I stamped my images and cut them out with the coordinating die (Clear Stamp + Die) after I colored them in with alcohol markers. My Christas tree card: this background worked well with adding in the amazing die cut images (Stitching) with the stitched details and my foiled sentiment (from BetterPress). I hope you like my backgrounds and get some ideas for those Club Kits! See you earlier in November for the next set up Clubs.

Birthday Wishes with Pinkfresh Studio - A Collaboration Hop!

Tuesday, October 8, 2024

It's my birthday! YAY! It's also my crafty friend Ciara from Ciara T Designs birthday! To celebrate, we're doing a little collaboration hop with our channels where we made each other a birthday card that using each other's favorite color. If you know Ciara, you know she loves purple! So I went all in with the purple, I attempted some mixed media which she is just pro at, and finally some beautiful florals that remind me of her cards.

You can watch my process video down below where I show my hot foiled flowers, colored them in with their coordinating stencils, created my Distressed background and adding the final touches of an embossed sentiment and gems. I cannot wait to watch Ciara's video - there's a link to her video in my video description, so head over to watch it on YouTube!

A Big Card of Hello Animals with The Sassy Club

Sunday, September 29, 2024

I have a simple card today, but mostly because I jam packed the front of this 6x6" card with lots and lots of cute, Japanese characters! I have a quick short down below to just show how I layered the critters on the card, but it's really a very basic card. It's also what I am submitting for Craft Roulette this week - which is why it's a 6x6" card that I normally do not tend to make. My card base is actually folded so it's 5" on the front of the card and 6" in the back since I didn't have a large enough piece of cardstock to make the base.

On the front of the card, I layered on pink cardstock, then black cardstock and finally a hot foiled pink bows on white cardstock. My images were stamped and colored with Olo Markers and I used my Scan N Cut to cut them out. I added foam adhesive to the back of the critters, then added them one by one! I know it's a busy card, but that's why I kept the background and card base so simple, so I could add all these adorable images that I had fun coloring!

Spellbinders September 2024 Club Cards

Friday, September 27, 2024

Two videos in one day?! And they're both over a half hour long?! Well, I've been sitting on this Spellbinders video for a bit because I made four cards and had over 3 hours of footage I needed to edit and put into a single video. I ended up making five cards with the Spellbinders Clubs and did a lot of mixing and matching with the different kits. You can see the stitching and stencil clubs in my post here from the YouTube Livestream earlier this month.

At the end of the Livestream, I started watercoloring the clear stamp - I embossed the images and used Distress Watercolor Pencils. In my video today, I finished the watercoloring and hot foiled the sentiment. I also used the embossing folder to give my background more interest. The next card I used the beautiful sunflower dies from the large die of the month and put them on a 3D embossed panel. I also heat embossed my stamped sentiment and added a wax seal.

Next I jumped into using the BetterPress plates and even foiled one of the BetterPress sentiments. I used the scarecrow from the small die of the month to create the cutest scarecrow you ever did see! For my last card, I used more of the small die of the month and brought in the caboodle die set and I seriously just love that frog. I added in a wax seal ghost and a fun die cut panel layout.

I know it's towards the end of the month - I really meant to get this video out much earlier than now, but even if you can't get the the club kits, some of them may go on sale soon or you can reference this video if you are already a club subscriber!

Christmas Wreath Card - New Release from Papertrey Ink

Thursday, September 26, 2024

A couple months ago, Papertrey Ink reached out and asked if I would like t one a guest designer for an upcoming release and I felt so honored! I received some of their September release filled with Christmas and holiday goodies, including some really great nested dies. I used a few of the new products to create a Christmas wreath card using non-traditional colors to share in celebration of the new release. I'm also hopping along with the design team over on Instagram, so make sure you check that out, too!

I started with creating my wreath by stamping the different branches and flower buds from All Around Christmas using my Sizzix Stamp and Spin and different colored inks. Next I hot foiled the Christmas Laurel Hot Foil Plate in the center with gold foil and die cut it with the largest of the North Pole Mail: Postage Stamp Frame Post Card Dies. My sentiment is also from All Around Christmas Stamps which I embossed in gold on brown cardstock and used the coordinating die to cut it out.

Next I die a lot of die cutting using the Into the Blooms: Swag Dies - pink pine leaves, teal leaves and a bronze gold bow. I added some Distress Ink to the leaves and layered them onto the wreath. When my card was assembled, I added a few Pops of Color just to add in a little more interest to the card. I'm so excited to create a few more projects with this new release over the next month and I hope you are too!

Fairytale Cards with Spellbinders for Fandom Friday

Friday, September 6, 2024

I am excited to share that I am starting a new YouTube series called Fandom Friday! I currently have Christmas on the 25th, Halloween on the Last Day and now these weekly videos to hopefully bring you some inspiration to use your stash in a pop culture way. Of course you'll see my favorite fandom companies like The Sassy Club, PopsicleSticks, Kindred Stamps, and more... But I'm planning to add non fandom companies in the mix to share ideas to make them into a pop culture reference!

For my first video in the series, we're traveling to Cinderella's Castle in her pumpkin carriage and Tinker Bell speeding her fairy dust across a card! I was gifted these die sets and press plates from Spellbinders to create with and I hope you like my inspiration to create these two fairytale cards. Let me know what fandom cards you'd like to see in the future!
