Welcome to Wednesday Wait Loss (especially if you’ve been following my Flower Pot Blog Hop)! I’ve got a special announcement about the hop, but first let me introduce you to my weekly link up I call Wednesday Wait Loss.
WWL is a place where you can share photos of quilts you’re working on and get encouragement to finish them from our Wednesday Wait Loss group! As you can see, I’ve been doing this for years (we’re at almost 400 weeks!) and so our group is strong, loves to share, and is very welcoming.
Here’s how it works. Every week I start out by sharing what I’ve been working on. Then I share the projects from the previous week that most inspired me so that they will inspire you too! This is followed by the actual link up where you can share a photo of your current project. If you are new to linking up, I have a separate page that steps you through the whole process.
Big Announcement — Flower Pot Blog Hop!
I’m hosting a blog hop!
The hop began on Monday and features top designers and quilts made with my new Island Batik collection, Flower Pot. If you haven’t already, click here to enter to win a fat quarter collection from Flower Pot.
After the blog hop, the fun continues on Instagram where you’ll have second chance to win a Flower Pot fat quarter collection! Join me from October 7th to October 9th and participate in an Instagram loop (hopping from one designer to the next) for another chance to win a fat quarter collection from Flower Pot!
Just go to Instagram on October 7th, look for my post (I’m @inquiringquilter), and follow the instructions in the post to enter to win!
Now let me tell you what I've been up to
On Saturday I hosted my two hundred and thirty-sixth Saturday Sew-in. Come share what you’re working on while getting to know quilters from around the world at this weekly online sewing retreat. It’s an online quilt guild!
Join us this Saturday for Saturday Sew-in #237 - from 8 AM to 6 PM EST. Come sew with us and make some new quilty friends!
Also on Saturday, I quilted up another Ribbon of Hope quilt. I got the binding done too, so all that’s left is a label. I’ll be giving my quilts to my cancer team coordinator so she can donate it to someone in need.
On Sunday I prepped for my Flower Pot patterns sale, which started on Monday. I’m so excited about these new patterns and I hope you love them too.
Squared is fast and easy and made with precuts. Don’t you just love how it showcases the beauty of the Flower Pot collection? Squared comes in three sizes so you’ll be able to easily make Squared in the size you need.
Starcrossed Too is an update to my existing pattern. With this update, not only did I render it in the gorgeous fabrics from Flower Pot, but I also added more sizes! Yep, Starcrossed Too now comes in three sizes. And you can cut out Starcrossed Too using your Accuquilt cutter. Talk about fast!
Charlotte may be my favorite of the new patterns. Doesn’t it look gorgeous in the Flower Pot collection? Charlotte uses precuts or yardage—your choice! And, while you are making Charlotte, you are also making bonus HSTs that help you create it’s sister—Lydia!
If you’d like to make Charlotte and Lydia, join me for a quilt along! Sign up here to receive the special newsletter with my tips and tricks PLUS an extra discount on the pattern.
And that was my week!
Now let’s see who made this week’s feature
I’m recovering from my surgery a little every day, but of course other things lie ahead such as a course of radiation and hormone suppressors. I’m discovering the new me and one thing I figured out during this recent two week recovery after my surgery is that I need to reduce my work load a little bit. For me that means I’ll be featuring less quilt projects in my weekly recaps since the recaps take a lot of time to create. Instead, I’m going to encourage each one of you to visit the linked projects yourself so you can be as inspired by the amazing depth and breadth of the quilt projects as I am.
Let’s start with the finishes that caught my eye.
Up first is Rebecca @ Rebecca Grace Quilting who shared this lovely customer quilt. So vibrant and luscious!
Next, Preeti @ Sew Preeti Quilts shared her new Island Batik challenge quilt, Bloomtown. So modern and sweet and oh so purple! Yay!
And finally, Lisa on Flickr shared her new Farmtastic Friends quilt. I love how she framed her animals and the fun prints within Churn Dash blocks! What a great way to bring focus to her menagerie.
Now let’s take a look at the the the works in progress that turned my head. Please stop by each quilter’s blog to leave an encouraging comment so they can celebrate a finish soon!
Up first is Kat @ Scrapbox Quilts, who shared this lovely Star of Wonder top. Won’t this make a great table topper or tree skirt? I can’t wait to see the finish on this beauty.
Next, Viridian @ Viridian’s Blog shared her Over and Under top. Viridian wasn’t sure she’d picked the best jelly roll to make her quilt but I must say I simply love it! Isn’t this pretty?
And finally, Margo @ MY Quilts shared this bright and beautiful baby quilt top. Looks like it’s ready to be quilted and I can’t wait to see the final result!
