More Birthdays
Well, I'm dancing around making my brother-in-law's card, because I just don't do "masculine" very well. I really tried to tone down the glitz, frills, ribbons, bows, etc. on this card, but I still don't feel this is quite right for him. I guess I'm going to have to break out the Loads of Love stamp set and make a truck card for him. ;-)
This card was inspired by Yapha Mason's question on Stampin' Addicts about uses for the Stampin' Up! Shimmer Paint n ow that the holidays are over. I had suggested stamping an image in ink first, and then stamping with Frost White, slightly offset of the first image. Then I had to try it for myself. :-D
I stamped the dandelion hearts in Elegant Eggplant Classic ink on Lavender Lace cardstock, and then used the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to make sure the Frost White was ever-so-slightly offset. The faux stitching was done with the Piercing Tool, Mat Pack, and Elegant Eggplant Stampin' Write Marker.
I have no idea what SU set the sentiment came from. It's copyrighted from 2002. I thought it was perfect for the dandelion image. Didn't you used to make a wish before you blew the dandelion fluff when you were a child? I sure did! Now all I can think is "Eek! More darn weeds in the lawn!" Sucks to grow up, doesn't it?

I love it!
ReplyDeleteLove your card and I think you should give it to your brother, it will probably bring back the same memories. Yep we used to make a wish before we blew them too! Now we pay big bucks to have someone come in and kill them. LOL.
ReplyDeleteI love it, Cindy! I think you should give it to your BIL too.
ReplyDeleteI love the offset shimmer paint! I vote yes on BIL, too!
ReplyDeleteThis is a fantastic card, Cindy! This is a great use for the shimmer paint - it's like the shadow technique!
