Look, this year has been really shitty, we all know that and it’s been so hard for me to be able to really enjoy reading in the last few months and I had so fun reading this that it makes it deserve a solid 5 stars for that reason alone.

First things first, i’ll admit that I was a bit lost as to who the characters are, but that is a pain I inflicted on myself because I started book one a couple times and I couldn’t get into it so I just gave up on reading it for now because i’m in a reading funk and if i’m not madly interested in a book, I just can’t read it. But when I read the blurb of this one, I was so damn interested. I love me a good ennemies to lovers and this one promised me rival assasins and knife play, which i’m really into. So I jumped on it. I feel like I understood most of the book still but I definitely was a bit lost as to who is who because I haven’t read the first book in this series. It didn’t change my enjoyment of the book though.

I had such a good time reading this book, it was so much fun and I loved following these two around while they commited their assasin things. It was such a fast passed book and it always kept me interested into reading more of it, I just wanted to know what would happen to these guys.

I adored how the book showed us how our two rivals assasins relationship changed and developed over time. I loved how they stayed rivals for a big part of the book. But you still could tell that they were developing feelings for each other. I loved how they developed a game and stole each other’s kills in order to have sex with each other. God that was so good. I really loved how these two’s relationship developed, it was just the best.

I loved Azrael and I loved Madigan and together they’re so damn fierce. I loved Azrael and how he still has a bit of humanity, even if he’s an assasin. I loved how it was shown that these two are cold bloded assasins, but they still have some soft spots to and fell in love with each other.

I also loved the power exchange. God I loved these two alpha assasins just submitting to the other at any given time and then switching it up. So damn good.

He loved that they were like this, loved that he could pin Azrael against a wall and hammer mercilessly into him, hold his hair and fuck his throat until his voice was raw, and then be bent over a counter and given the same rough treatment only to wake up to the uniquely tender pleasure of Az already thrusting inside him, taking what he wanted without apology. 

Also, a good example of how much fun I had while reading this: there was miscommucation, a lot, these two could barely talk to each other at first BUT I found myself not really caring because I was enjoying the book so damn much.

Special mention to the sex scenes, goddam were they hot. So damn hot. These two are on fire together and I loved their constant fights for power to see who would be on top and I loved the knife play, it made the sex scenes even better.
