My life was perfect. I had an amazing fiance, a business I love, parties and balls every week, everything was wonderful… until that night. The night where everything changed. My world is crashing down around me. Everything I knew is a lie and the men, the men in the masks, tell me that as they steal me away into the night.

I wake chained, scared, and alone with four criminals.

Criminals who tell me I'm theirs now, theirs to steal, theirs to kill.

But there is something they don’t know about me, my past shrouded in darkness. They thought they had got themselves a pretty jewel, but they are about to cut their teeth on this diamond. I am nobody’s to own and I’ll rebuild my world from the ground up with their hearts and souls held in my pretty clasp.

They will learn I am no one's Trophy.

Final Review (7/19/2022): Standalone RHs are a subgenre of romance that I adore. However, Stolen Trophy, feels like a simplistic regurgitation of K.A. Knight’s TikTok popular - Den of Vipers. (I’m not throwing shade at DoV, I really liked it & gave it 4 stars). K.A. is always very hit or miss for me with The Fallen Gods (book 1 is Pretty Painful) and Her Monsters (book 1 is Rage) series being my two favorites. I haven’t had the opportunity to read from Kendra Moreno before and I could see myself liking more of her books.

Into this specific story.

This large behemoth of a book wasn't easy to fly through and times the narrative dragged. It starts with an armed robbery of the heroine’s home by the “heroes” which tends into a kidnapping. Ohhh… shit someone came home early. I like dark romance but the number of kidnappings in Knight’s books is just getting out of hand.

Genevieve was all set to be my type of heroine. Tough, strong, independent but caring. But something about her character just fizzled into passivity and lack of strength. She even apologized for calling some for help, sweetie, these bastards kidnapped you own that you want out. She was a form street kid turned multi-millionaire and I do like how her streak of caring extends to kids in similar situations.

Into the dudes, all of which were pretty much reallocated the backgrounds and characteristics of Ryder, Diesel, Kenzo and Garret from DoV became Archer, Gage,Eric and Booker.

I’ll let you figure out where the personality was allocated to sans our beloved craziness of Diesel. I could have gotten over the similar characterization of our male leaders in other books except for the fact that this has the same kind of scene or trope? almost verbatim from DoV. One last difference is that Booker is an American former Marine who served in Iraq and somehow ended up in the UK for unexplained reasons.

If you want to read a subpar DoV rewrite at least chose the more original - Gangsters and Guns by K.A. Knight and Loxley Savage. There are different emotional issues and only three boys… are brothers.

2.75 stars rounded to 3.

Terrific standalone reverse harem romance!

Romance: 💙🤎💜❤️💖
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌎🌍
Character development: 😠☺️😋🥰😘
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Dual Narration

The heroine: Genevieve - she was brought up poor by her father and did whatever she could to make a better life for herself. She is far from that little girl now. She has a business she loves, a penthouse, a makeup artist, a stylist and a face and body that many would love to have. However, she doesn’t feel like herself. She is dating Chaz, who is a dapper aristocrat and a charmer who makes Genevieve weak in the knees even after 3 years together.

The Heroes: Archer, Gage, Booker and Eric - Booker is an American and ex-military who lifts weights a lot and acts as the muscle for the group. Gage is a weapons expert from the streets, he is a bit grumpy, but quiet and unassuming. Eric is the youngest, the panty-melting bad boy of the group and is tall and blonde. Archer is the leader of the group, and great with tech. They are burglars who rob the wealthy.

The Story: Genevieve has everything she ever wanted, but it feels hollow to her. One night when she goes off to a charity ball for her own children’s charity when her life begins to fall apart. She catches her fiancee cheating. Meanwhile, her penthouse is being robbed and Archer and the guys get curious about the owner when they are going through the apartment. They find a worn sofa; cheap costume jewelry and they find nothing worth stealing which surprises the lot of them.

When Genevieve returns to her penthouse early, the guys end up taking her hostage and they go to a cottage in the countryside with her. While trying to come up with a new plan, they slowly get to know her and she them. Genevieve finds herself attracted to each of the four guys and they find her sympathetic, especially after realizing she is more like them than they originally thought.

The story is interesting and reminds me a bit of Den of Vipers which I really enjoyed. Though it took a while to really understand the guys and why they were outlaws, why they were even burglarizing Genevieve’s apartment to begin with. I love that this was a standalone RH, so often the good ones are series and I get tired of reading or listening to entire series sometimes. I love that, like DoV, this one is a longer standalone (544 pages, 11 hours). I wish more authors would do that.

This story was told in multiple points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Rebecca Woods and Will Thorne. Rebecca has a great voice and a posh British accent; she does a great job and shows a lot of emotion through her voice. Will Thorne is good as well. He is good with doing different voices for the different male characters. It helps that they have different accents. I also loved the fact that each of the characters has a fully developed personality and the guys all have pasts, with former relationships that didn’t end well and they have their own pain and issues.

Hard to finish, a completely dissapointing read.

Usually I like KA Knight's books, since it comprises of truly strong heroines who think with both brain and heart, and know when to think logically and when emotionally and good heroes or anti heroes.
This book lacked that, atleast for me. I know I am in the minority but even after reading the reviews and reading it again, I can't bring myself to like this piece.

Birdie(since I forgot the spelling of her other name 🤫) started out as a Spitfire and strong character but then her personality just got buried, never to regrow again. She just withered away, apologizing for something that anyone in her place would do, feeling sorry for betraying the 'trust' of her captors by asking of her help.
(The audacity of the captive to betray her captors by asking for help... Offcourse she should feel sorry and should be treated like trash 😒😒).

The men were what anyone expects from a typical dark romance novel/book. The jockster, the alphahole leader, the softie who brainlessly follows and the dark douchebag who needs his head to be used as a football.

Had the fmc being actually strong and took these idiots down a notch, a resilient fmc who would not wither with the slightest abandonment from them and stood tall, I would have liked the book alot, but alas this book went down the drain for me. After completing the book, now all I feel is the desperate need to find a good series with an actual strong fmc and anti heroes to erase this book from my mind 😖😖

Rise your hand if you wanna be Genevieve...
Rise your hands if you too wanna be kidnapped by four modern Robin Hoods who are as gorgeous as they are lethal...😏🤩

Stolen Trophy is an amazing read.
K.A Knight and Kendra Moreno gave us a steamy yet emotional story.
They created a great world with these beautiful characters: they are broken but never give up.
They value family more than money.
Their bond is strong and deep, and I loved how everything started.

I just missed a bit of angst... some kind of struggle.
But at the end, as I said, it's a great read.

I didn’t expect to like it this much??
This was fun, sexy and entertaining.
I honestly expected another Den of Vipers but no it was so different.
The characters are very well written and there is a plot.
It’s me complimenting a book for the bare minimum.

The main character gets robbed and kidnapped by four sexy men because her fiance basically ordered it. He’s a dick but hey it turns out well for her.
All four of the thieves are so different yet compliment each other perfectly. We have a brainy control freak leader, a charming flirty romantic, a nice guy with ptsd and a grumpy mountain of a man.

I have to say some sex scenes made me rethink my whole life ngl. But nothing triggering, don’t worry.

Overall, it was a nice read and I’m on a hunt for more wholesome RH books.

DNF @30%

This might be a decent book overall, but I'm not sticking around to find out. I've reached the 30% mark and I'm bored out of my mind.

Nothing worthwhile has happened, with the exception of the FMC being kidnapped by the MMCs. I don't even know what the plot is supposed to be. Yeah, ok. They kidnapped her and this is a romance so they'll fall in love, but what else?

I'm also not feeling the chemistry between any of them. Like, at all. All the talk the FMC does about being attracted to them is just weird to me. You barely know them, miss ma'am. I don't mind insta-lust and I know that you can be attracted to someone you don't know well, but damn calm your coochie girl. It just seems so unnatural to me in this book, especially since she is/was engaged to another dude who she supposedly loves, but she found out he cheated on her right before she was kidnapped. The pace was just off.

And one thing I can't take in books however hard I try is inconsistencies.
There's a scene where one of the four guys - Gage - doesn't want to tell her his name, but decides to do so anyway. Then in the next chapter one of the other guys starts addressing him by his name and Gage tells his to stop because he doesn't want her knowing it. They even give him a nickname so the FMC can address him. I read that and I was like "did I just hallucinate the previous scene? Are my eyes playing tricks on me?"

Overall, I'm really disappointed this didn't work out for me. I had enjoyed Den of Vipers by K. A. Knight - it's not a great book by any means and it has its problems, but at the time it was what I wanted - and I thought Stolen Trophy would be equally entertaining. But I was wrong.

I love when Ka knight does RH books 😈😈😈

Genevieve was a street poor kid who hustled and earned her way at the top. Rich girl is what she is and she's having a good life. Good job, has a fiance and things are looking up until she sees her fiance cheating and it goes down hill from there, heading home she is greeted by 4 masked men robbing her home which she doesn't truly care because she has nothing. she holds her own against the guys and is punched and kidnapped by them.

The relationship between all 4 guys was excellent I love them there vibes how they steal from the rich and sale it. They thought they had a easy mission thanks to Genevieve fiance who told them she was loaded (asshole I tell ya) stealing turning into kidnapping which isn't in there plans. Gene isn't going down so easy she's going to use her charms and try to get out even if they haven't really done anything bad towards her. We learn more about everyone as time goes on trying to figure out what to do. Fights, betrayal, and sexual tension they slowly become a family with Gene they even give her the keys to leave it didn't work because she went back to them she found her lost family and making sure all the Rich ppls get what's coming to them.

“I don’t need to stand in the light, she can have it all. I’ll stand in the dark and watch her, protect her, love her.”

Wow. This book was so emotional and so well written I’m still thinking about it. I’m honestly struggling to write this review because it left me speechless. This author duo has officially written one of my top 2022 reads.

This book follows Genevieve and her delicious harem of men as they take the Robin Hood lifestyle to the extreme.

What happens though when the richest treasure you steal becomes your obsession? Your heart ? If you ask this group it means fierce protection, spice, group healing, and more.

Genevieve is such an amazing character and when her mask is stripped away she truly shines and I loved every second.

Gage, Archer, Eric, and booker are male harem perfection. Each one was so different but so similar that you sensed who each was while also rationalizing how they work as a unit…and when that unit involved some spicy times ..holy crap. Gage had me fanning myself a few times.

This book truly encompasses what it’s like to accept your role in life and honestly thrive…even if it’s a little on the darker side. This book shows accepting who you are even though you’re used to putting on a facade for those around you. This book also shows what I think we have all learned, that sometimes looks can be deceiving and sometimes the best people thrive in the dark.

If you like mud in inappropriate places, Robin Hood mentalities, spice, and self acceptance I can’t recommend this read enough.

“Sometimes, the people who look like the bad guys are, in fact, the good guys, and those who hide in pretty clothes and jewels, dressed like saviours, are actually the villains.”

That quote literally sums this book up for me!! 🙌🏼❤️ the tale of Robin Hood never gets old. And my god is this a new take on it… let’s start by saying I don’t remember Robin Hood ever being so HOTT!! 🥵😅 for real guys, it’s pure SPICE throughout. Get yourself an ice pack 🙌🏼😂🥵 I loved this book so much, it gave me some den of vipers vibes in ways… but for me that book is one of a kind… back to this book! It had me hooked throughout. I love every one of the guys and I’m surprised because I don’t have a favourite!!! They all bring something different. Genevieve is a wicked character.. I didn’t actually like her at first 😂😂 I was really worried at this point… but stick with her, she isn’t the typical “rich brat”. You’ll love her!! 😁 I can’t really say much more because of spoilers. But yeah, it’s good 🙌🏼👌🏽

This was not exactly what I was expecting.
I did like it though.
The growth that happened to each character was fun and satisfying to read and it helped each of them grow closer together.

This was softer than I expected, I think that’s what I was a tiny bit disappointed by.
If you go into this thinking it’ll be like a typical KA dark romance, you’re gonna be disappointed.
The other author that she co-wrote this with really softened some edges.
We still get criminals. We still get some hot sex and some filthy dirty talk. We get a bit of primal play, some DVP, some DP, some exhibitionism. But none of the rougher stuff that KA’s other books might have, like blood play.
Which was totally fine honestly.
It’s just that we were told one of the men was crazy at the beginning when we met them and I immediately thought of our favorite little psycho from Den of Vipers. Nope. Nope. Nothing like that.

Really all I’m saying is, manage your expectations.
This is not as dark as KAs books can be.
There’s still some triggering content, like past abuse and kidnapping that gets a bit rough, so definitely check those before going in.

It wasn’t exactly what I thought it would be, but if you’re thinking of reading it and you can handle some fighting and angst and rough sex, then I’d say go for it.
I did have a good time, and I think it’s a pretty good book. I’m glad I picked it up.

Google 19 year old collage student Patty Hearst's Stockholm Syndrome & you’ll have the basics in this story. Kidnapped young wealthy woman by a group of men. Men ask for ransom (feed the poor hello book’s “Robin Hood” aspect) but it’s later discovered woman is no longer acting as a victim but assisting the men who originally kidnapped her on bank heists. This happened during the 70’s and Stockholms Syndrome wasn’t as known as it is today. I’ll leave it there if you’re interested Google it. Anyway I’m not a fan at all. Nothing about this story is sexy. Lots of triggers. I found the story disturbing & it made me angry. I don’t recommend the book.

I love me a good standalone RH read and this cover was too good to pass up. This author tends to be hit or miss for me and I feel like this book falls in the middle of the two. I can't exactly pinpoint why, but this book really annoyed me almost the whole way through. While the book is long I really hoped my feelings towards all the characters would change but they never did. Right from the start the men are huge hypocrites and pissed me off by not fully researching the heroine. Ironically they apparently have all the pertinent information but don't think it's relevant to look into until after they break into her home and ultimately have to kidnap her. One even has the nerve to be pissed at her when she steals his phone, I mean what the fuck, she's kidnapped but then she feels bad??!?! At times it also felt like each guy was trying to fill in a certain RH mold such as the fearless non trusting leader, grumpy hateful brute, the hurt in the past playboy and honestly I can't even remember the last ones role. The heroine also wasn't my favorite, she goes through mood swings and for a street kid lacks the necessary skills half the time. They all just irked me on and off and it did not make for an overall enjoyable read. I'm still not sure of the guy's role in the bigger picture of the world when they claim to be the good guys ripping off the bad and then just give the goods away. It just felt and read a bit messy to me and I wish I got more character development for all of them. While I didn't hate the story, it just wasn't my favorite and was missing that something special.

I wasn't planning to review this story, but after getting to a certain part of the book I realized it was necessary to do so.

First, I didn't want to give an opinion of this book because it's written by K.A Knight, one of the few RH authors I find knows how to do a decent story and her books I generally really like (with the exception of Den of Vipers) and when I saw the cover and the author, I was immediately encouraged to read it thinking there wasn't going to be anything I wouldn't like.

But I was wrong.

Despite dealing with questionable characters (my favorites), a protagonist that read promising; feisty and strong, (also one of my favorites), the way both the plot and characters developed was not to my liking.

This book screams red flags all over the place. Imagine being kidnapped by 4 men the day you found out about your boyfriend's infidelity and aside from that they were robbing your house, and after a while you FEEL EMPATHY WITH THEM. I'm sorry, but this RH was a really awesome Stockholm syndrome.

In the beginning Genevive was a feisty protagonist and determined to get away, she wouldn't take shit from any of the guys and she really was strong. As someone who came from poverty and the danger of the streets, she was reasonable. But soon that went down the drain. There are a number of issues in this book that cause the protagonist to begin to change from the mindset of someone who has been kidnapped, to the mindset of someone who has deep Stockholm syndrome, which made the romance not cute to me but somewhat disturbing, because there is no "love" to begin with, but a mental disorder.

It's typical for them to try to give the kidnapper a backstory, so that even though they do bad and questionable things, the protagonist doesn't see them as bad and questionable because of the little "good" things they do. That happened here.

It is typical in this type of book to try to JUSTIFY a deportable act with the kidnapper's harsh and difficult past and make that act less bad because of it. There are very few authors who understand that it is one thing to EXPLAIN and quite another to justify.

From the moment she was punched in the face and kidnapped, there was already a big problem, but Genevive relatively quickly forgot this fact to the point where she calls her soon-to-be ex-fiancé to ask him to rescue her and they get ANGRY that their kidnapped tried to escape to then make her feel bad, make her question her completely RATIONAL actions IN A KIDNAPPING CASE and the stupid girl actually thinks she betrayed the trust of her FUCKING KIDNAPPERS. To make matters worse, they make her lose control of her emotions and one of them gets in her face that she has NO ONE to care about her, finally causing the asshole protagonist to think she's better off with them, the ones who KIDNAPPED, THREATENED TO KILL AND HIT HER IN THE FACE and decides not to run away. Do me a fucking favor.

This is mental and emotional manipulation, simple. This made me unable to fall in love with the main characters or buy into the romance because I know that she really isn't in love but deranged and with good psychological support her "love" for them would disappear.

Some people are going to say "in the synopsis they warned a little bit about this fact, why read it if you are not going to like it and criticize it". I would have liked it a lot more if they hadn't romanticized the kidnapping (because that's what they do). There are books where the characters are actually aware that their relationship is not healthy or normal and still decide to stay together because they like that kind of relationship, but here they sell it to you as cute.

I was deeply disappointed in this book and as a personal opinion, it's not a book I would recommend or worth reading for me.

Stolen Trophy by K.A. Knight and Kendra Moreno is one heck of a holy hotness romance filled with four cocky, muscled, smart as a whip, alpha hunks and one feisty, gorgeous and just as smart heroine. I loved every minute of their enemies to lovers relationship featuring many, many fights, arguments, bantering, bickering and finally steamy lovin’ 🔥❤️. The plot line is resembling somewhat of a Robin Hood(ish) story adapted to our day and age with much more saucy scenes and panty melting dialogue. I have been a fan of Knight since Den of Vipers; she is the one who hooked me on reverse harem trope, and boy am I glad?! Her new gem Stolen Trophy does not disappoint either. Definitely a must-read in my book😉

Real Rating: 3.5 / 5 Stars

Normally, I fangirl over almost every new RH romance K. A. Knight releases. Her book "Stepbrother's Darling" is probably my favorite standalone RH romance ever.

This book, however, isn't one I'd count as being at the top of my list. There's no doubt it was hot and enjoyable, but there was something about it that felt kind of empty and a bit derivative, both of Katie's other novels and of itself. Does that mean it's not worth reading? No, it doesn't. As usual, Knight's talent at writing violent bad boys,take-charge female main characters, and scorchingly spicy explicit scenes (with plenty of dirty words, yum) shines through. Does it have those same shades of Stockholm/Helsinki Syndrome that have both the FMC and the main male characters all questioning what's happening to them as happened in Knight's "Den of Vipers"? Yep, it does. But we see that in plenty of RH romances anyway.

What's kind of cool, in a way, is the way the FMC, Genevieve, acts as a cross between Patty Hearst (but without the old money aspect) and Alexandra Lourdes (a female entrepreneur in Las Vegas who started out with very little and opened a line of coffee shops (Cafe Lola) marketed directly at women (among other businesses) and is now very wealthy). It gave her character depth, dimension, and a directness I really enjoyed. Of course, it also made her very naive, which can happen sometimes to people who have new money. I was surprised no mention was made of a personal lawyer or financial advisor that might be missing her or no one wondering where her considerable assets (including her massively successful corporation and her NPOs) might go should she be presumed dead (then again, I don't know what the laws are like in the UK about such things).

Then again, maybe I shouldn't be, because there are a great many consistency issues in this book. I didn't bother to count them, and maybe they'll be fixed by the time this book is published, but in the copy I read there were plot holes, inconsistencies, and me asking a whole lot of questions the characters themselves should've obviously been asking for how smart and experienced they are at what they do.

All in all, don't stay for the loosely-woven plot or expect a riveting storyline. Stay for the characters and hot scenes.

Thanks to the authors and Courtney Dunham PA for providing me with early access to this title in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT I DEVOURED THIS SO QUICKLY. And I am slightly emotional that it’s done because as always, I need a sequel to any of Katie’s standalone & this definitely is in my top 7 books of Katie’s! Includes DOV, Diver’s Heart, Crown of Stars, Daddy's Angel, Stepbrothers' Darling & Blade of Iris.

Note: Katie & Kendra has made this amazing book one of my top reads of 2022 & that's saying something because I've already read 150 books this year LOL.

We meet our main girl named Genevieve & she is a self-made millionaire. She's engaged to this guy who comes from old money. I already don't like Chad from the get-go but we'll talk about that later.
Gen is heading towards a gala fundraiser/auction in honor of one of her projects that she's been promoting. Everyone in that auction just shmoozes old money. After Gen presented her speech, she was in search of her MIA fiance. Low & behold as she was searching for him, we find that Chad was cheating on her with another chick. Devastated, Genevieve immediately leaves the party ASAP.
Anyways, other ongoing things are we meet a group of devilish, rugged & handsome men who are planning & heading for a heist. Their target's location is actually Gen's penthouse since she's been booming in the media lately. Things head south real quickly b/c Gen finds these men at her house and did not expect her to arrive until hours later. So a kidnapping of Genevieve ensures which was not a part of these men's plans.

What happens when the richest treasure that these men are trying to steal ends up being their hearts instead?

Genevieve is such a strong/BA woman. I love how we really deep-dive into her character. That the hardships she endures while she's kind of stuck with these guys and past experiences when she grew up, really made me fall in love with her. We love a BA queen!!

These rugged, handsome activist men are Archer, Gage, Eric & Booker. Each of these men has very distinct & unique personalities that once they're all together, flow seamlessly. This is why their group dynamics are so well-meshed and are even better once you add in Genevieve. She was the missing link all along.
Gen & her men have stolen my heart.

I loved this book so much & I am so thankful that I was able to be a part of this journey by being able to arc-read for Katie & Kendra! Y'all really got me with this book that I need to reread again in a few months :)

Oh my life, this was incredible.
I loved EVERYTHING about this book.
Without even reading the blurb I knew I would love this book just from the cover and knowing it was written by Katie and Kendra.
Both of them did an incredible job with this story, it was phenomenal.
The storyline was gripping and filled with unexpected twists and it all flowed so well!
I love the relationship that Birdie has with each of the guys, and then their relationship all together is just beautiful. They’re one big family that would do anything and everything for each other.
The group activists were hot af!!!! Those boys have filthy mouths and know exactly how to please a woman. If they turned up at my house to kidnap me then I would hand myself over willingly 😅
I didn’t want to put this book down, it has everything you want and need in a reverse harem romance.

Plot Summary :
Life for Genevieve has never been easy. But she mad it out of the streets and now has a name for herself. Her life looks good with a dotting fiance and a successful future. Or so she thinks. Until one night her life implodes and to top it all, she gets kidnapped by four gorgeous men who apparently came to steal from her. She went from being a rich queen to a prisoner in one night but hell will freeze over before she gives the men what they want. She didn't rise up from the streets just to be kept and broken again. She has her own fight and these men are going to pay for taking her.

Overall Opinion :
If there is one thing that is perfect in this world, that is KA Knight's reverse harem reads. I am always the first in line to read her books with RH because they never ever let me down. They are perfect with the baddest bitch heroine and crazy psycho heroes who always make me swoon.

When I knew that she was writing a kidnapping, dark romance RH, I was all over it. And so amazing it was! This one was a standalone with all the heat and turns that you will love. The h is a queen whom I loved right from the first page and the men also had their own tales to tell which made it impossible for me to not love them!

Definitely recommending this one to all the dark RH romance loving people out there. This one has triggers, darkness, lots of kink and so much more!

Stolen Trophy is an RH that from the start is full of mystery tension secrets and steam. It has you guessing and keeps you on your toes. Genevieve, our main Heroine, went from rags to riches and I loved seeing the socialites in her eyes. Everything is a game and she has to play to win her spot in society. Unfortunately being rich attracts attention and not necessarily the good kind. She meets these four guys in the oddest of ways but it leaves such a mark that entire meet cute, I loved it.
Archer, Gage, Eric and Booker are each pretty different but just work. I loved getting to know each one and seeing this group operate. Definitely read this book for a steamy RH standalone full of mystery and a rags to riches vibe with twists

Stolen Trophy

This one had me contemplating 4 or 5 🌟. I decided 5 stars it is. There were some very funny, laugh out loud moments. There's a particular scene towards then end that made me decide to give this 5🌟. I enjoyed all of the characters. Oh! I just remembered there's another scene in this book that was pretty 🥵 as well, 😆 . I actually wouldn't mind a novella of this group.

@katieknightauthor @kendramorenoauthor wrote a dang good book here. KA is a old pro to me but Kendra was new to me. I will def be checking out her other works now.

This was grayish in the dark romance world. It was spicy and hot and I loved. I would of died for more group scenes but i’m greedy! That mud field scene was 🥵🥵

3⭐️-kinda — I wanted to give this a better rating, don’t get me wrong, because the plot build up and concept are a good a leaping off point to make a unique story… but it fell flat to me. The timing of events in the book are insane… (I don’t want to give spoilers, but they’re WAY too dramatic for reality TV if that says anything). Not to mention my thoughts throughout the rest of the book, especially when getting to know all of the characters, “these people need therapy” ringing in my brain too much to make me emotionally invest in an HEA. Everyone was too raw/damaged if they were even thinking of a 1:1 relationship let alone a RH scenario.

Beyond that, the plot timing was odd. We spent the first 1/3rd knowing nothing of the initial conflict, then the 2/3 mark we get as much as you can about the MC’s in the middle of sex and revenge as if you had ADD. Then the ADD got worse but somehow some resolved basic stuff but then…. 💩

The main conflict happened, ended (kinda), then when the FMC had her “closure” (which was dumb and obvious), the book literally ended…. It almost felt like the book ended mid sentence, like a cliffhanger… but I did research and made sure this wasn’t a series and is a stand-alone book.

I was going to give a better rating until I heard the last few minutes of this book and now I’m glad I didn’t.

Perhaps I’m giving a harsher review than normal because I didn’t look up spoilers for this book (for once) either. So my expectations weren’t level set per usual. 🤔 I’m trying to justify my rating versus to higher elective rating…

Drawing a blank. The MC’s seemed so pompous, all said and done, in a hypocritical kind of way… just the opposite of what I’d assume the author wanted. It made the epilogue seem even more “entitled”, which rubbed me the wrong way.

Y'all actually enjoyed that one?? I'm sorry I couldn't get into this book. I'm a big fan of reverse harems, dark romance, spicy books, etc. This one just didn't hit right. For one, Gage assaulted her by punching her in the face hard enough to knock out, then proceeded to suggest murdering her about 15 times. He never ended up apologizing for this. I just didn't buy into this groups love story. Along the way Birdie used someones phone to try to escape and they acted like she betrayed them. God forbid she try to escape her kidnappers. But noooo she "broke their trust" and "betrayed" them like ?????? They let this woman wither away, weren't really kind, and she willingly stayed with them? It's giving stockholm syndrome and not in the cute romance book way we all love and enjoy. I almost DNF'd but I'm not a quitter lolz. Multiple times during sex one of the guys "slammed his fingers" into her like idk I love a good spicy book but that does not sound pleasant lol. I guess this book just wasn't for me. Didn't like the men, didn't enjoy the plot, the love story was super lackluster. The spice was meh. 2/5 stars

DNF @45% I don’t think I’ve gotten this annoyed over a book in a while, Gen was set up to be this independent strong woman, but I didn’t see that anywhere in her actions apologizing for calling her fiancé after she was kidnapped why? The way they had her living was terrible, what human being would want to live in a cold & dirty room with one outfit that she wears everyday even after showering? The guys pissed me off they felt so betrayed she called her fiancé, but she didn’t even give him any info on the guys or attempt to call the police, she simply wanted to go home & they still treated her like shit, I couldn’t do it anymore, sorry.😩
