At age fifteen, I had an encounter with the paranormal, when I attended the funeral of a deceased relative.

I stood over her body lying in the coffin and dared myself to do the unthinkable.

She had not liked me in life but this had not dissuaded me from an attempt at a spiritual connection in death. I gave her the opportunity to prove me wrong.

Too scared to glance at her eyes, I focused on her forehead and asked her to become my 'guardian', omitting the word, 'angel'.

The night of the funeral plunged me into terror-filled nightmares, which kicked off bizarre and frightening occurrences for the weeks and months that followed.

A dark shadow pressed its presence on my back and haunted me from the corners of my eyes during my waking hours, culminating in horror-filled nightmares, whenever I failed in my desperate fight to stay awake.

Fear of ridicule caused me to bottle up my outer-worldly experiences. Each attempt to cast her off invited severe reprisals. She became bolder and more vicious in her anger.

At the edge of sanity a few months later, I rode my bicycle to her grave and confronted her with threats of damnation to hell from the church, if she did not leave me alone.

I rode away from the cemetery with a sense of escape from her malevolent clutches.

I slept for twenty-four hours and awoke with a renewed sense of wellbeing.

She has never bothered me again.

I write in various genres:

I'm editing 'The Order of the Mirror', the second book of 'The Appointed Collection' {Paranormal Occult / Fantasy / Thriller} for submission.

Concurrent to this project, is the creation of a novel in the drama genre, called 'The Beggar's Tale', the saga inspired by the poem, 'The Beggar', in Profound Vers-A-Tales.

I continue to write poetry and philosophical thoughts through my website and shared on social media. Depending on their relevance, they appear on my web pages called, 'Dawn's Spawns' or 'Pearls Among Gems'.

Once a month, I write 'Myths, Legends & Folklore of the Caribbean' for the Toronto based newspaper called, 'The Indo Caribbean World'.

I submit quotes and offer book giveaways on Goodreads, using unique captions to attract readers.

Writer's block works to my advantage, creating a tinge of excitement whenever I flip to an alternate project.

GOODREADS REVIEW

Strong/lead female characters appear in 'The Order of the Mirror' and 'Gateway to the Dark Side', second and third novels of the series.

My over all rating would be a 3.5 on this book. But it's not because the book wasn't interesting, it just wasn't my cup of tea. Kamil has a very sophisticated way of writing and when I was reading this book I was like yep, definitely get the vibe of men in this b Read more of this blog post »

Cause and Effect

Criticizing the next generation reflects on us. We hold the power to carve out good citizens who will take over the planet and wrest control from us. Step up with your hammer and chisel to create a defined character. Give up your cowardly position as friend and brave the battle of good parenting.

“The Kalambo River and Waterfall exemplify life and afterlife: From birth at its source, the river twists and turns to overcome hurdles on its way to enhance the life of others before falling off the edge in death to flow quietly into Lake Tanganyika, while it's mist rises to heaven, freed from the burden of the body of water that held it.”
