About this audiobook
When Leah Stevens’ career implodes, a chance meeting with her old friend Emmy Grey offers her the perfect opportunity to start over. Emmy, just out of a bad relationship, convinces Leah to come live with her in rural Pennsylvania, where there are teaching positions available and no one knows Leah’s past.
Or Emmy’s.
When the town sees a spate of vicious crimes and Emmy Grey disappears, Leah begins to realize how very little she knows about her friend and roommate. Unable to find friends, family, a paper trail or a digital footprint, the police question whether Emmy Grey existed at all. And mark Leah as a prime suspect.
Fighting the doubts of the police and her own sanity, Leah must uncover the truth about Emmy Grey—and along the way, confront her old demons, find out who she can really trust, and clear her own name.
Megan Miranda delivers a deep, dark and twisty novel just as thrilling as her New York Times bestseller All the Missing Girls.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I really liked this! At first I was not sure I would because there are some similarities to Fight Club but I knew it would take getting to the end to see for sure if I loved it or was unimpressed. Very well written, all of the ends might not have tied up in the end but the author does it in such a way that it's believable and not a stretch. There were a few things that could have been fleshed out a bit more but she left them to the reader. I will definitely be reading/listening to more from this author.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Probably more like a very jaded 3.5 star.
I think had I read this right after something like Romanceathon I would have loved it. However a pretty good mystery after a few really great thrillers wasn’t to its benefit.
However, I loved the characters and the plot. I would recommend it and I will continue reading her writing. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Brilliant. Brilliant. Just brilliant........... Highly recommendable for the well-written plot
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great book but it felt like it went on and on
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5So many twists, multi-faceted, but classic thriller storyline. Well-written and interesting!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Don’t start this until you have time to finish! Tensions are high throughout and characters that keep you guessing. One of the better mysteries I’ve read in the year.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5lost interest 1/2 way through. made myself listen to the end
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Should have ended with the police knowing truth also. Didn't like ending.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This was pretty good. I was never sure where the story would go next.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The ending was very anticlimactic. Was kind of slow to get into as well but I was def disappointed in the ending

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5It was a great book, but she leaves I've question unanswered.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5This book to me just was boring overall boring. I felt like Leah did not have any back bone but she felt like she did. It was just confusing I couldn’t get into the writing or the audio.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5When you just want a fresh start and this may be worse. Her long long friend who gave her a place to live after losing everything. They decide to move to a place that's the opposite of Boston. Leaving journalism behind and now teaching. When a teacher she turned down the advances of is stalking her and her roommate is now missing. Her world feels upside down and is she a suspect in the woman found near death in her woods. What about the guy pulled out of the lake in her roommate's car. Can she have an affair with the detective, keep her life and do all this before she's the next body found. Miranda tells stories that get you immersed and woven into these people's lives you whit knuckle it til the end.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This book is so incredibly slow. It took me forever to really just want to listen. I usually finish a book within a day or two. Not this one. It took weeks. Not great.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Very hard to follow and im still not sure exactly what happened with all the story lines even after going back and trying to relisten.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I can’t say enough good things about Megan Miranda. I loved this one
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5So bad. Terrible narration and even worse writing. Save your time.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/53.5 stars. Maybe the storylines in Megan Miranda's books aren't very exciting or unique , but her storytelling keeps you sucked in until the very end .
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Drags on quite a bit. The main character rambles through and a lot of it seems like filler. I also got annoyed with how easily the police give her information about an open investigation and how her and Kyle had a ridiculous back and forth. It seemed like almost the same conversation every time they interacted. I love usually this author, but this is a definite pass for me.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I was very confused. The back and forth didn’t flow well.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Slow start to this one but kept my interest and turned out good!
