About this audiobook

“An Agatha Christie vibe make[s] this whodunit an excellent beach read”(Library Journal). Discover secrets, scandal, and a suspected killer—all on one street in this gripping suspense from New York Times bestselling author and “master of misdirection and sudden plot twists,” (Booklist) Megan Miranda.

Welcome to Hollow’s Edge, where you can find secrets, scandal, and a suspected killer—all on one street.

Hollow’s Edge use to be a quiet place. A private and idyllic neighborhood where neighbors dropped in on neighbors, celebrated graduation and holiday parties together, and looked out for one another. But then came the murder of Brandon and Fiona Truett. A year and a half later, Hollow’s Edge is simmering. The residents are trapped, unable to sell their homes, confronted daily by the empty Truett house, and suffocated by their trial testimonies that implicated one of their own. Ruby Fletcher. And now, Ruby’s back.

With her conviction overturned, Ruby waltzes right back to Hollow’s Edge, and into the home she shared with Harper Nash. Harper, five years older, has always treated Ruby like a wayward younger sister. But now she’s terrified. What possible good could come of Ruby returning to the scene of the crime? And how can she possibly turn her away, when she knows Ruby has nowhere to go?

Within days, suspicion spreads like a virus across Hollow’s Edge. It’s increasingly clear that not everyone told the truth about the night of the Truetts’ murders. And when Harper begins receiving threatening notes, she realizes she has to uncover the truth before someone else becomes the killer’s next victim.

Pulsating with suspense and with Megan Miranda’s trademark shocking twists, Such a Quiet Place is Megan Miranda’s best novel yet—a “powerful, paranoid thriller” (Booklist, starred review) that will keep you turning the pages late into the night.

I usually love all of what Megan Miranda writes, but this book is so so incredibly slow. It took the whole book to try and get into it, and yet still couldn’t.

This novel is nothing unlike other novels in its genre with an obscene amount of repetition. I get that it should be a certain length, but to pad it with 200 words to describe something that can take 20 or 30 is quite annoying. The narrator has a sharpness to her voice that is barely tolerable. Story line is thin. Not that enjoyable of a book.

To echo other reviews, the ending was just not worth the read. It was fine, but I personally was hoping for better than fine. Interesting concept but it became repetitive with phrases and the many “aha” moments for the neighbors as they were all fairly similar.

I got to chapter six and was bored out of my mind, too many books and not enough time. Sorry maybe someone else will like it better than I did.

I really liked Megan Miranda’s first book “All The Missing Girls”, but all of her books since that one have been “meh”. I keep reading them hoping she will write another good one. I have been disappointed every time. The characters are poorly developed and most of the time are pretty awful people that I could care less about. There is no “shocking” twist that the reader can’t figure out. I made myself finish this book just to see if the end would redeem the story. Guess what? It didn’t! No more Megan Miranda books for me :(

This story had the potential to be good. It was a fairly decent plot however the narrators voice was extremely agitating to me. I found the narrators voice to be nasal and whiny. It made the entire book sound as if she was complaining about how unfair it was she didn’t get to go to prom or something. Very teenage angst-y.
And then the book just seemed to go on and on. There was a lot of internal monologuing by the main character that grew annoying and distracted from the book. It also made the story longer than it needed to be.
In the end it was unsatisfying to me because there was too much left up in the air and the main character still seemed so conflicted and tortured about the events.
    I wouldn’t recommend.

Just OK compared with other thrillers I've read. I found it to be a bit disjointed and difficult to follow.

I love a good gated community who done it. Even though it wasn't really a gated community. One close enough to keep secrets about something that never happened. To keep quiet. To pretend it never happened. Did it really happen?

I’ve liked her other books, but this one never really took off. I didn’t particularly care for any of the characters and thought their interactions were lightweight. I did follow through till the end, and the last few chapters wrapped it up nicely. I liked The Last house Guest better!

This was a good book lots of twists and turns. I struggle very much with this narrator. I believe she narrates most of Megan Miranda’s books. So I give a four-star for the book and a three star for the book with the narrator for the audiobook.

I only finished because of hatred with EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER. I wanted karma to get them all. Vapid. I hope to never encounter people in real life like these characters.

It was just okay. Basically, just a bunch of paranoid people playing Big Brother… more concerned with everyone else than themselves.
Miranda has written better books. I wish I hadn’t wasted my time with this one, but you never know until you try it.

It has its peaks but in the end the payoff just isn't there. The third quarter of the book had me trying to guess who the bad neighbor really was too just fizzle at the end.

What a let down and what a disappointing reveal of the "mystery". Unlikable characters and very underwhelming story.

Great mystery by Megan Miranda from the savvy female perspective brought to life by the narrator, Rebekah Ross. This is the 5th book by Miranda that we’ve listening to when heading for bed. It will keep you engaged whilst allowing for sleep. Not terrifying but slightly creepy. Brilliant.

I thought it was great. This is the second book by this author I have listened too in just the last week. It had suspense, drama and a bit of a twist there’s towards the end. All in all. Great “read”

The book made me second guess myself many times but it was such a slow burn. It took me the entire book to stay interested.
