About this audiobook
That's what the last girl I slept with said when she got her first sober glimpse of me. She laughed, walked out of my penthouse—and I never saw her again. It doesn't matter that I'm a rich, professional athlete; what mattered was my face.
Beauty might only be skin deep for some—but I know better.
"Pay up."
That's what the last girl I spoke to said over the phone when I made her an offer she couldn't refuse. Desperate to sell a set of rare baseball cards, she's clever and entertaining. I'm instantly smitten, but nowhere ready to reveal myself. Thank god she has no idea who I am—or what I look like.
I'm a professional athlete—how hard can playing the love game be?
Contains mature themes.

What our readers think
Readers find this title to have a mix of positive and negative aspects. Some reviewers enjoyed the banter between the main characters and found it funny and sweet. However, others felt that the book dragged on and didn't focus enough on the romance. There were also mixed opinions about the narrators, with some liking the male reader but not being impressed with the female reader. Overall, the book was described as cute and had likable characters, but it may not be for everyone.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Eh. There wasn't really any romance. It felt more like a therapy session for the guy's low self esteem. He didn't seem all that interested in the heroine. I like the male reader, though. He did a good job. I wasn't nuts about the female reader. She lacked animation at times.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Omg this book was cute. Shy normal looking professional baseball player with low self esteem, beta male. Nice guy falls for an outspoken, talkative girl next door. Laugh out loud funny moments and really good plot. Likeable characters. Good narrators. ? highly recommended.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The first in the series. The banter between Noah and the "baseball cards girl" is truly laugh out loud funny and sweet. Narrated wonderfully along with the entire series.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I liked this book, it’s an original idea, but goes to far, drags too much, and avoids the actual romance. Randi is driven and passionate about her career path but oblivious to everything else, uncomfortably disinterested in men and anything not in her tunnel vision. Spoiler…
Who goes to a club owned by a football player, sees a group of large, buff guys and thinks gym rats doesn’t even crash land they would be athletes- even her friends who are into the club scene don’t appear to think athlete.
Noah’s a good guy, not hooked on fame, has serious self esteem issues over his looks. This is beat the death twice over. When has a star player ever been called out as ugly in press and by fans.
Once the shite hits the fan, they never address insecurities or get to know each other or face the critics. A whole lot of wasted opportunities, such a shame.
