Senior High Schools

The main aim of the study was to find out the significant difference between institutional development of high schools. Survey method was adopted for this study. The sample consists of 150 high schools in Thoothukudi and Tirunelveli districts. Simple Random Sampling Technique was used. Questionnaire for Assessment of Institutional Development (2017) was developed by the investigator used to collect the data. The statistical technique used was mean, standard deviation and ‘t’ test. The findings of the study were: i) There is significant difference among below 5 years, 5 to 10 years and above 10 years establishment of high schools in their resource development, social development and institutional development. ii) There is significant difference among government, government aided and private high schools in their faculty development, financial development and institutional development. The educational implications and suggestions for further study are also given as per the findings of the study.

Character education reinforcement in secondary school is one of the educational programs aimed to expect the tendency of moral perversion because of moral decadence. Various forms of moral deviations result in students being alienated from normal life. This article aims to discuss character values reinforcement and the principal's transformational leadership strategy to shape student characters in a descriptive-critical way. The aims of this study are school strategies in optimizing to carry out character education reinforcement. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study design. Data analysis used a modified analytic analysis method. Meanwhile, the data validity measurement was based on the level of credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. The results emphasize the importance of shaping student character as an anticipatory step to decrease moral distortions among high school students and the effectiveness of the principal's transformational leadership role in optimizing implementing character education strengthening programs in schools.

This study was conducted to improve the employability skills of the SHS students in the seven categories which are Communication, Problem- solving, Planning and Organizing, Creativity/ Innovation, Independent Study, ICT, and Numeracy Skills.
Specifically, this study sought answers to the following questions: (1) What is the level of competence of students in the different employability skills before the conduct of the SICAD? (2) What is the level of competence of the students in the different employability skills after the conduct of the SICAD? (3) Is there a significant difference on the level of competence in the employability skills of the students before and after the conduct of the SICAD?
The subjects of the study were the 20 Grade 12 students in Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) course.
The study was consisted of one group, the experimental group. The experimental group was the participant in the implementation of the Strategic Initiatives for Career Awareness and Development [SICAD] which were Preference Inventory Survey; Aptitude Survey; Lectures and Insights from Experts; Mentorships; Job shadowing; and Work Immersion. These activities were assumed to improve the competence on employability skills of the students.
The research instruments utilized was the Nna Oriji’s Student Employability Skills Questionnaire (SESQ) which was modified for HUMSS Students by Queenie Palafox, et.al of De La Salle University.
Two- tailed t-test for dependent samples was used in determining the significant difference between the weighted mean in the pre- survey and post- survey of the experimental group. This is to test the effectivity of the SICAD program in improving the employability skills of the students.
The analysis of the gathered data resulted in the following findings: (1) Before the conduct of the SICAD program, the students assessed themselves to be highly competent in Independent Study skill and least competent in all other skills. Their employability skill was in low competence level with a weighted mean of 2.27. (2) After the SICAD program was conducted, the result showed that there was an improvement in the employability skills of the students. Having a weighted mean of 2.64 which has a descriptive rating of high competence. The students perceived that they are highly competent in Communication, Planning and Organizing, Independent Study, Creativity/Innovation, ICT, and Numeracy Skill but still low in Problem- solving skill. (3) The study revealed that conducting initiatives for career awareness and development brought significant difference in the employability skills of the students.
Based on the findings of the study, it can be affirmed the SICAD program have improved that the employability skills of the students from low to high level. Moreover, the interview and survey conducted to the work immersion supervisors suggest that the respondents have the skills needed for employment and that they can be considered as employment- ready.
Therefore, SICAD program must be adopted in the school. Also, the conduct of career awareness and development programs must be intensified for it can help students in right career placement.

This study employed a descriptive-correlational approach to assessing the students’ needs, grammatical challenges, and teachers’ preferred teaching strategies. Correlational analysis was utilized to treat data concerning the teachers’ preferences regarding needs analysis and teaching strategies. An independent sample T-test was used to identify the difference in the teachers’ responses on determining the respondents’ perception about the needs assessment used for Junior and Senior High school students and the relationships between the perceived grammatical skills of English teachers.
Findings revealed that the teachers’ grammar needs analysis on speaking skill was classified as the most critical assessment, while the least essential was the viewing skill. English teachers agreed that the usual English grammar challenge is when they expect the teachers to present grammar points explicitly. However, they disagree that they do not find grammatical terminologies useful. Reading was the regularly used teaching approach in grammar, whereas the less-used was the speaking strategy. Moreover, a significant difference occurred between the grammar skills and needs analysis used when grouped according to grade levels. Senior high school teachers had greater assessments on teaching grammar through vocabulary, speaking, and writing.
Furthermore, senior high school teachers considered grammar needs on speaking and writing as more important. There was no significant relationship between teaching strategies, and grammar needs to the students’ English grammatical challenges. Therefore, a strategy enhancement program for both the Junior and Senior high school levels has been proposed.

This study focused on determining the significant influence of study habits and mathematics
anxiety to the mathematics achievement of the senior high school students. Universal sampling
was employed to 403 students enrolled to grade 12 senior high school at the Davao Oriental
State College of Science and Technology taking accountancy, business and management (ABM)
strand, humanities and social sciences (HUMSS) strand, science, technology, engineering and
mathematics (STEM) strand, and technical-vocational-livelihood (TVL) strand. Results showed
that the students’ study habit and mathematics anxiety do not significantly differ across their
field of specialization. It further revealed that mathematics achievement of the senior high school
students was significantly correlated to and influenced by the level of their study habits, and
mathematics anxiety. It was then recommended that activity designs in the classrooms should be
made in such that way that it fosters positive ambiance to lessen the anxiety of the students
towards the subject and boost their study habits.

Teaching materials is a generic term used to describe the resources teachers utilize to deliver instruction with ease and greater effectiveness. Regardless of their variation, these materials support learning content, allow students to engage in the concepts application and provide an opportunity for evaluation. With the coming of R.A. 10533, the Enhanced Basic Education Curriculum or popularly known as K-12 Curriculum the needs for the instructional materials doubled as the learners stay in the public schools for two (2) additional years. On its initial years, Senior High Schools greatly experienced scantiness of instructional materials in teaching different subjects. Thus, this paper aimed to aid the scantiness of instructional materials in Bauan Technical High School. With this, problems encountered regarding the supply, usability and accessibility of instructional materials by so called facilitators of learning were explicitly manifested through questionnaire guided interviews and Focus Group Discussion. By Content Analysis, momentous inputs were coded, interpreted and validated. Significantly, the study found out that the most outstanding experience of the respondents in the teaching learning process was the accumulation of instructional material tailored fit to the needs of the learners and would suffice the yields of the Department of Education curriculum guides. More than time consuming, instructional materials' supply, usability and accessibility were constraints for the facilitators. In the midst of this, teachers maximized the use of online sources which eased this scantiness. This led to the proposed offline digital instructional archive, Libro ni Bonsai, a Google Play Store free mobile application, oasis of tailor fit curriculum guide based instructional materials that would aid present dilemma.

The study aimed to assess the extent of manifestation of science competencies of first year BSEd Sciences major students of College of Teacher Education, who are non-STEM graduates, in biology, chemistry and physics, with the end view of proposing remedial activities. interpersonal and social empathy toward openness to diversity of
Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) students.
Furthermore, it delves what factor of interpersonal and social
empathy significantly influences the openness to diversity of
HUMSS students. Primary data were collected directly from the
respondents through two adapted scales. The descriptivecorrelation method of research was used to attain the study’s
objectives. The respondents of this study were the 123 grade 12
HUMSS students of Sto. Tomas National High School from
school year 2019 - 2020. The findings of the study revealed that
the level of interpersonal and social empathy and openness to
diversity of senior high school students are both high. It was also
revealed that there is a positive, high and significant relationship
between interpersonal and social empathy and openness to
diversity. Moreover, it was found out that the macro-perspective
taking and self-other awareness are the domains that significantly
influence openness to diversity. This means that if the students
show consideration and sensible with other’s way of living there
is a great possibility that they are open with diversity.

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) issued CMO No. 20, s. 2013 prescribing the new general education curriculum (GEC) for higher education institutions. Hence, this study aimed to prepare the Sorsogon State College (SSC) new GEC framework. The mixed-methods of research which involve the use of both quantitative and qualitative methods in a single study were used. Data gathering was conducted through survey and document analysis purposively selected and the results were examined through content analysis. The paper concluded that there is no uniform GEC for the undergraduate courses offered by SSC. The total number of units of the curriculum ranges from 44 to 85 units that require two to five years to be completed. The Philippines recently adopted the K to 12 program in basic education. Under this program, students can choose their track and strand relative to their interests or career choices when they reach senior high school. However, issues surfaced when the K to 12 graduates were admitted to the college courses not aligned with the strand they have completed. It is widely accepted that intelligent individuals are more likely to succeed compared to academically challenged individuals. Knowledge is, without a doubt, a powerful tool. But interestingly, for long-term goals, it should be sealed with perseverance and passion, which is termed as grit, a non-cognitive trait. This study assessed the academic performance, grit and academic self-efficacy of 303 senior high school students in North District Carmen, Cebu using standardized scales. For data analysis, Pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis were utilized as statistical tools. The results revealed that students' academic performance is rated as proficient with m = 86.86, SD = 3.31. Students' grit score has a m = 3.40, SD = 0.29, which indicates an above-average level of grit. In terms of academic self-efficacy, students have a mean of 4.00, SD = 0.46, indicating an above-average level of academic self-efficacy. Furthermore, a significant positive correlation among students' academic performance, grit, and academic self-efficacy was found with statistical significance at the level .01. It is concluded that an increase in grit and academic selfefficacy scores leads to an increase in academic performance. Finally, multiple regression analysis shows that students' grit and academic self-efficacy are statistically significant predictors of academic success, accounting for 12.3% of the variance in academic performance.

The study aimed to determine the importance of curriculum competencies in the electronics sector to the industry needs of work immersion partners at Tanza National Trade School. The researchers utilized the purposive sampling method to select the target participants of the study. Practitioners in electronic industry partners such as the Industry Supervisor, Production Manager, and Line Leader were target participants of the research and the Grade 12 students who undergo work immersion. Accredited and competent trainers of TESDA validated the researcher-made questionnaire. The study revealed that Mechatronics was not crucial at Radix Telecom Company regarding technical and non-technical skills. At the same time, EPAS (Electronic Products Assembly and Servicing) was a vital competency skill. However, both Mechatronics and EPAS at Ophardt Hygiene Company were essential competencies in technical and non-technical skills. The work immersion partners, Radix Telecom Company and Ophardt Hygiene Company, at Tanza National Trade School, had no significant relationship to the abovementioned skills. In addition, Grade 12 students and practitioners of work immersion had no significant difference in their responses. Thus, researchers developed Instructional Development Plan (IDP) to anchor industry needs to the instruction of TVL teachers teaching electronics and work immersion of Grade 12 students.

Most high school graduates in the Philippines immediately enrolled in college after summer vacation. On the other hand, not everyone is cut out for the collegiate life following high school. For some, the school has become a chore or a source of frustration. Others haven't found it to their liking. A sabbatical before going back to school full-time may be an option for those who have completed their degree. Because of financial constraints, some high school graduates opt to work rather than complete their education. This study aims to ascertain the extent to which manifestations affect senior high school graduates' perceived skills and employability. The study sought to find out whether Junior High School teachers in the Sissala East Municipality of Ghana follow the basic prescribed principles in the construction, administration and scoring of classroom achievement tests. A descriptive survey design was adopted for the study. The study employed multistage sampling techniques (purposive, stratified, and simple random sampling procedures) to select a sample of 248 teachers from the Sissala East Municipality. A questionnaire was used for the data collection and its reliability was 0.8. Data were analysed using frequencies, means, and standard deviation. The results showed that generally, Junior High Schools teachers in the Sissala East Municipality adhere to most principles of test construction and test administration but had little knowledge of the principles in the scoring test. The Department of Education in the Philippines implemented the Enhanced Basic Education Curriculum in 2013 which led to the creation of Senior High School Program. Studies showed the importance of the support of stakeholders to the success of an educational reform. Thus, it is significant to consider the acceptance of the new curriculum. This descriptive-correlational study sought to determine the acceptability of the Senior High School STEM program and correlate it to the difficulty level of problems along its implementation. Findings showed that there was low acceptability of the new curriculum among stakeholders. It also revealed that the major problems along the implementation of the curriculum were on the areas of Facility and Instructional Materials, and that the difficulty level of the problems was high. Finally, it was found out that there was significant inverse correlation between the curriculum's acceptability level and the problems' difficulty level. Thus, the study concludes that the acceptability level of curriculum is significantly related to the difficulty level of the problems encountered by the school along its implementation. The researcher recommends that a series of information-dissemination programs be conducted to raise awareness on the significance of the STEM Curriculum among the stakeholders of the school. A significant relationship among the variables was taken as a whole and grouped according to strand. Students should learn to engage in scientific argumentation to develop their scientific reasoning and critical thinking skills. Also, the teachers should build up certain students' skills to better their performance in Science and other subjects. The school administration should also look for more sustainable programs and workshops for the teachers and students to improve their studies and lives.

There’s a lot of students who were suffering and complaining in their school works. Many teachers are giving to much activities or any requirements. Sometimes, the activities given by them are in a same deadline that’s why students became stress and feel very uncomfortable with the situation that he or she has to overcome.

Base on the researcher’s observation, Senior high students are faced with a tremendous amount of stress that comes from too much homework, long tests, and performance tasks. The workload is not actually the problem; rather it is the limited amount of time for these requirements. Another study conducted in 2000 on the effects of stress on health habits, health status, and self-esteem states that working hours and workloads are dominant sources of stress. According to studies, stress is a major factor to how a child performs academically.

A research done in 2000 on learning theories states that stress can enhance learning ability, but too much of it can cause physical and mental health problems and the academic achievement of a child is put to risk. A person can easily adapt; children are known to adapt better than adults. However, the adaptive abilities are greatly affected when the demands become too overwhelming. This then affects the students’ academic performance.

This study aimed to find out the effectiveness of using differentiated teaching of the English language in developing skills of listening comprehension and creative thinking among students of the secondary third grade students in the city of Taif, at the levels of listening comprehension and creative thinking separately and collectively compared to the usual methods used in teaching English. In order to achieve this goal, the researcher used the quasi-experimental approach with two groups control and experimental. Two tests were used, one to measure listening comprehension skills and the other to measure creative thinking skills, and after ascertainingthe validity and reliability of the two tests it had been applied previously to study sample which consisted of (55) students from the secondary third grade in Taif in the first semester of 1434 A Hijri, by (28) students in the experimental group and (27) in the control group. After the end of the experiment that lasted for one month, was then applied to the sample. By usingAverages, standard deviations and analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) the following results were reached: presence of statistically significant differences between the two groups of the study in the listening comprehension skill test separately and collectively, as well as the presence of statistically significant differences between the two groups in creative thinking skill test separately and collectively and the differences were in favor of the group experimental. In the light of these results, the study recommended encouraging English teachers to use differentiated teaching strategy in teaching, training teachers and educational supervisors on using it during their service and introduce them to its advantages, benefits and ways by which education differentiation work, include differentiated teaching in the theoretical and practical academic courses in colleges of education, training students to these modern educational strategy.

This study made use of the descriptive-correlational research design to determine the relationship of MSEMSAT Senior High School TVL Department Students' proficiency and their readiness for employment. This study focused on identifying if the SHS-TVL students' proficiency is related to their preparedness to be employed. From the data gathered, it was found out that the perception of the respondents in the SHSTVL proficiency related variables is not significantly related to the employment readiness of graduates which was partially supported in this study. Meaning, even if the graduates' proficiency is high, they do not automatically perceive that they are ready for employment. To achieve greater congruence between basic education and the nation's development targets, Work Immersion, a required subject for Senior High of K to 12 Basic Education Program, has been incorporated into the curriculum (DepEd No. 30, s. 2017)). This research was conducted to explore the lived experiences on Work Immersion of pioneer graduates of Senior High: Grade 12 Humanities and Social Sciences Students in Tagaytay City Science National High School, SY 2017-2018. One representative of each work immersion venue was invited to be interviewed for data collection, with a total of ten (10) participants sampled using random purposive sampling method. Data collected from the interviews confirm the success of the Work Immersion execution, with all of the participants declaring that their experiences has met all the objectives of the subject. To this effect, participants requested longer work immersion hours. Thus, it is recommended that the Department of Education shall review its guidelines for the improvement of work immersion hours.  Borrowing the actual words of a student, Work Immersion helped “to put our hearts on what we are doing and to have passion on everything you’re assigned to work on.”

This study made use of the descriptive-correlational research design to determine the relationship of MSEMSAT Senior High School TVL Department Students' proficiency and their readiness for employment. This study focused on identifying if the SHS-TVL students' proficiency is related to their preparedness to be employed. From the data gathered, it was found out that the perception of the respondents in the SHSTVL proficiency related variables is not significantly related to the employment readiness of graduates which was partially supported in this study. Meaning, even if the graduates' proficiency is high, they do not automatically perceive that they are ready for employment. The Philippines recently adopted the K to 12 program in basic education. Under this program, students can choose their track and strand relative to their interests or career choices when they reach senior high school. However, issues surfaced when the K to 12 graduates were admitted to the college courses not aligned with the strand they have completed. This cross-sectional study was conducted to determine the difference in the academic self-regulated learning and performance of the STEM (Science and Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and non-STEM graduates in senior high school among freshmen nursing students in a city-subsidized college in the Philippines. In this paper, the researchers aimed to assess the awareness level and attitude of senior high school students in one academic institution in the Philippines towards climate change. This descriptive research surveyed 276 Grade 12 students, aged 16-19 years old, from different track and strands. Majority of the respondents were 18-19 years old (n=175) with almost equal male to female ratio. Results of the study revealed moderate to high level of awareness on issues concerning climate change. Senior high school students moderately to strongly agree on their role in addressing problems about climate change. Students became aware of climate change through several sources like television, internet, and from school. Majority of them look for further information about climate change by searching through the internet, watching television and from reading books. The high awareness level and strong positive attitude of senior high school students towards issues and concerns about climate change is a good indication that they are more likely to express willingness to act on this global problem. Raising awareness and promoting positive attitude about climate change should be one of the basic courses during early childhood education. The research findings provide an assessment on students' awareness and attitude towards climate change that could help curriculum designers integrate environmental education in the K to 12 curriculums.

This study aimed to find out the effectiveness of using differentiated teaching of the English language in developing skills of listening comprehension and creative thinking among students of the secondary third grade students in the city of Taif, at the levels of listening comprehension and creative thinking separately and collectively compared to the usual methods used in teaching English. In order to achieve this goal, the researcher used the quasi-experimental approach with two groups control and experimental. Two tests were used, one to measure listening comprehension skills and the other to measure creative thinking skills, and after ascertainingthe validity and reliability of the two tests it had been applied previously to study sample which consisted of (55) students from the secondary third grade in Taif in the first semester of 1434 A Hijri, by (28) students in the experimental group and (27) in the control group. After the end of the experiment that lasted for one month, was then applied to the sample. By usingAverages, standard deviations and analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) the following results were reached: presence of statistically significant differences between the two groups of the study in the listening comprehension skill test separately and collectively, as well as the presence of statistically significant differences between the two groups in creative thinking skill test separately and collectively and the differences were in favor of the group experimental. In the light of these results, the study recommended encouraging English teachers to use differentiated teaching strategy in teaching, training teachers and educational supervisors on using it during their service and introduce them to its advantages, benefits and ways by which education differentiation work, include differentiated teaching in the theoretical and practical academic courses in colleges of education, training students to these modern educational strategy.

Most high school graduates in the Philippines immediately enrolled in college after summer vacation. On the other hand, not everyone is cut out for the collegiate life following high school. This study aims to ascertain the extent to which manifestations affect senior high school graduates' perceived skills and employability. This descriptive comparative study focuses on the spending habits of senior high school and college students during the pandemic using the maturity and consumer theory. These theories helped this study guide the researchers to find out who's the mature one is when it comes to managing their money, how senior high school and college students spend their money, and how often they spend money. 70 respondents permitted their answers in the online survey to contribute to the goal of this study. This study aims to show the comparison between senior high school and college students in terms of spending habits and the possible significant differences. As interpreted from the answers of the respondents, the senior high school students are the one who’s likely to spend more money during the pandemic, and the college students are the one who’s more likely to spend less and save money. The results revealed that there is a significant difference between the spending habits of senior high school and college students during the pandemic. The findings of this study may help students to be aware of their spending habits, and to be wise when it comes to spending their money.

A huge number of high school and college graduates lack the important knowledge and skills to be effective members of the workforce. This study aimed to describe the socio-demographic profile of TVL (Technicalvocational and livelihood) Senior High School students in a private school in the Philippines-their competency level, work immersion performance, and expectations of employers in terms of the competencies set by regulators. A descriptive correlational method of research was used to get the responses of 18 employers and 84 TVL students. Results suggest that there is no significant difference between the students' competency level and their employers' expected competencies in terms of collaboration, critical thinking, entrepreneurship, environmental literacy, information technology, learning and innovation, lifelong learning, and occupational health. In contrast, a significant difference exists between the two groups in terms of communication and occupational health. No significant difference was found in their work immersion performance when grouped according to sex and socioeconomic classification, but a significant difference was found when grouped according to strand and specialization. The result of this study provides valuable insights for educational institutions, policymakers, and business owners in the Philippines on bridging the gap between the vocational training offered in schools and the needed competencies in the industry.

This study sought to explore the transition experiences encountered by the senior high school graduates of the senior high model schools in region IV-A CALABARZON from the start of their senior high school, during Grade 11, 12, and immersion, and after their graduation. The respondents were composed of eighty graduates of the senior high school program of San Pedro Relocation Center National High School, Cavite National High School, and Tanza National Trade School that took the Technical-Vocational (TechVoc) track which specializes in Information and Communications Technology, Home Economics, and Industrial Arts. The investigation utilized the qualitative type of research using the interpretative phenomenological approach (IPA). The interview questionnaire was the main data-gathering instrument. Thematic content analysis was utilized to analyze the content of the transcript. The salient findings of this study are the following: A synthesis of the specific statements of students’ lived experience of transition into senior high school resulted in five essential themes namely: Perception of various people affects the outlook of students; School support transition through programs and activities; Challenges and adjustments in senior high school; Choosing a career path after graduation; and, Preparing oneself and choosing the right track enhances transition. It is suggested that the schools must perform career guidance orientation and/or any information dissemination for both Grade 10 students and their parents/ guardians; Continue offering extra-curricular activities that promote the use of multi-intelligences; Recognize output, especially efforts done by the students to boost confidence. Further, promote the rewards and recognition program for the students and institutionalize the graduate tracer study program for the school.

In the implementation of Republic Act No. 10533, the Enhanced Basic Education Curriculum of 2013 or the K to 12 program problems such as lack of learning materials has become a burden not only to students but teachers. Due to this problem, students' low achievement and performance in science have been documented for years. Thus, this study was conducted to develop a learning module in biology for senior high school students. Biology is essential to students' holistic education, improving student performance in this subject is important. As such, the study assesses students' performance in areas such as biological molecules, energy transformation, genetics, and evolutionary relationships. The research also assesses how teachers use learning activities to meet performance standards in each area. It also evaluated the school heads/science coordinators and teachers on the effectiveness of the learning activities and discovered significant differences between the two groups. Descriptive method of research was adopted to collect data using a researcher-made questionnaire, interviews, and documentary analysis. Based on the findings, the students performed very satisfactory in energy transformation, while satisfactory in biological molecules, genetics, and evolutionary relationships. The results also showed that teachers utilized video presentations, brainstorming, and illustrations to help students meet the performance standards in various areas of biology. Thus, school heads and teachers considered video presentations and brainstorming as effective learning activities in biology classes. Moreover, the research also found a significant difference in the effectiveness of the learning activities between school heads and teachers. Furthermore, learning module consisting of learning competencies, objectives, varying learning activities, pre-test and post-test was designed to enhance students' performance in biology.

This comparative study is focused on learning the difference of social media usage between senior high school students and college students. With the help of the conservation of resources theory, the researchers were guided to understand how students manage their social media usage in order to sustain their resources at hand. There were both 30 participants from the senior high school level and the college level. The three questions used to guide the study were the following: 1) What is the level of valuing social media of senior high school students? 2) What is the level of valuing social media of college students? 3) Is there a significant difference in the social media usage of those belonging to senior high school and those belonging to college?

As interpreted from the answers of the respondents, senior high school students use social media more for nonserious matters compared to college students who utilize social media for serious purposes. The findings of this study may help students, parents, and schools to come up with plans that would help in balancing their social media usage between serious and nonserious purposes.

The aim of this study is to make disquisition toward the use of Facebook as one of the well-known social media sites and or application to the Higher- education students; the relatedness in their self-confidence and the way how Facebook helps to improve and develop it. Also, how it affects and enhance their academic performance which is essential. This study was conducted on the selected Senior High School at one of the IETI Institution. The number of participants of this study was 201 students who were taken random by track or strand. We heeded that this generation are using Facebook for different purposes. The result of the study unveiled or revealed that the Facebook site and or application are useful tool for students.
