Wireline signatures were used to identify hydrocarbon bearing sands and evaluate Petrophysical parameters for hydrocarbon pore volume determination. Well to seismic tie revealed that these reservoirs tied direct hydrocarbon indicators-bright and dim spots-on the seismic sections. Three hydrocarbon reservoir were delineated. Estimation of the volume of hydrocarbon in place revealed that reservoir A contained 1675091.54 ± 102 feet of gas in place, while reservoir B contained 163661.83 barrels ± 80 barrels and reservoir C contained 1739170.41 ± 102 cubic feet of gas.

Tropical medicinal plant spices have remained underutilized in commercial food processing because of the inadequate chemical characterization of their terpene compositions. The activity of medicinal plants used in flavoring is due to their terpene contents. Terpene contents of Aframomum danielli seeds, Xylopia aethiopica fruits, Syzygium aromaticum leaves, Piper guineense seeds, and Monodora myristica seeds were determined using headspace solid-phase microextraction combined with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. P. guineense is rich in terpinene and terpinolene (2.5 g per 100 g), S. aromaticum has caryophyllene (0.68 g per 100 g); A. danielli is rich in ocimene (1.65 g per 100 g); X. aethiopica is rich in ocimene (2.94 g per 100 g); M. mystristica is rich in delta carene (0.49 g per 100 g). Combinations of the five medicinal plant spices are being applied as flavorings in packaged tropical food.

The successful implementation of an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system has been described as a challenging strategic initiative for many organizations in varied business settings and different organizational cultures. During the past two decades, there has been massive investment in adopting ERP system, in addition to a substantial increase in focusing on the importance of users' acceptance of utilizing such technological technique. Despite the many advantages of successful installing of ERP system demonstrated in literature but still the failure rate of ERP projects is remarkably high. Leaders of ERP implementation projects have the challenge of displaying effective leadership skills and traits to justify strategic and operational decisions taken during implementation of ERP system. To provide better understanding of what may positively influence a successful implementation of ERP system, this research study is an attempt to investigate whether leadership style especially transformational leadership has a significant impact on successful implementation of ERP systems. The theory of transformational and transactional leadership was the foundations for the researched leadership style in this study. A quantitative, non-experimental correlational empirical research strategy examined the degree of significance of the direct relationship between the independent variable of transformational leadership style and the dependent variable, perceived as ERP success. Projects' leaders, executives, information technology, business managers, and end users who involved in adopting and using ERP system within their Egyptian organizations representing various business settings, were the targeted population of this research. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was conducted to test the research hypotheses and analyze the findings and results. The results of the study supported the existence of a significant relationship between transformational leadership style and successful implementation of ERP system.

Ngwerere and Kanakatampa Streams are the main tributaries of the Chongwe River. The Ngwerere stream originates from the city of Lusaka and meanders through Lusaka City and Chongwe Town for an approximate distance of 41 km before joining into the upper part of Chongwe River. The Kanakatampa Stream is a tributary of the Chongwe River. It meanders from the Kanakatampa Area for approximately 52 km before discharging into the middle of the upper part of the Chongwe River. The Chongwe River Catchment which is a sub-catchment of the Zambezi Basin drew the attention of researchers and policymakers when the Chongwe River started drying up in the dry seasons causing a water crisis particularly in the downstream regions of the middle catchment. In 2019, Covid-19 has been declared as a global pandemic. Online remote teaching and learning is the most practical solution to continue teaching and learning particularly at tertiary institutions. There is a drastic change from face-to-face teaching and learning to a fully online teaching and learning environment. Tertiary institutions need to ensure that they consolidate the curriculum and adjust it in accordance with online teaching and learning. In accordance with the new normal in teaching and learning, educators must adapt to new and creative strategies to engage students during online remote teaching and learning. This paper is a literature review on 1) the challenges faced by tertiary institution educators in online remote teaching and learning and 2) strategies that they used to carry out their teaching during this Covid-19 outbreak in order to overcome those challenges.

Defect free yarn is a great demand for spinner, knitter, and weaver and also other textile personnel because numerous end products from knit apparels to woven fabrics, from towels to sheets and from carpets to industrial fabrics characteristics significantly depend on the physical properties of yarn. The qualities of rotor yarn are really directed by spinning parameters. The aim of this study is to observe the effect of spinning parameters such as rotor diameter and speed on thick, thin places and neps of yarn in rotor spinning process. 0.11 sliver hank of 100% cotton was used to produce 12 Ne yarn. 65% virgin cotton and 35% wastage cotton were mixed together. The positive impact of spinning parameters on yarn properties were accessed by thick places, thin places and neps. Results indicate that the yarn qualities were improved with increasing of rotor speed and rotor diameter. The rotor diameter was settled to 43 mm while rotor speed fluctuated from 35,000 to 45,000 rpm and rotor speed was fixed to 35,000 rpm while rotor diameter across contrasts from 43 mm to 66 mm.

Apivenenum magnus (Oak 1995) is a well-known anthophile native to the Kanto region of Japan. It is most notable for its large size, reaching one meter in length and weighing nearly thirty kilograms as a full-grown adult. Like many anthophiles, it lives in groups and will violently defend their nests from predators, but its large size makes it a public health concern. Here we report two confirmed sightings on the island of Maui in the Hawaiian Island chain, Hawaii, U.S.A. In the first, a young animal trainer walking through the jungle with his pet mouse was attacked by a group of A. magnus. He escaped along with his unconscious mouse, which suffered injuries that are only consistent with A. magnus attacks. In the second sighting, a pair of petty thieves was watching a pet show from a distance with their pet cat when they inadvertently stumbled across an A. magnus nest, all requiring hospitalization. It is currently unknown if A. magnus will be able to establish a permanent population on Maui, or how it arrived, with international shipping containers a possibility. Animal control authorities have been alerted to the danger and are currently searching for A. magnus nests.

Huge volume of structured and unstructured data which is called big data, nowadays, provides opportunities for companies especially those that use electronic commerce (e-commerce). The data is collected from customer's internal processes, vendors, markets and business environment. This paper presents a data mining (DM) process for e-commerce including the three common algorithms: association, clustering and prediction. It also highlights some of the benefits of DM to e-commerce companies in terms of merchandise planning, sale forecasting, basket analysis, customer relationship management and market segmentation which can be achieved with the three data mining algorithms. The main aim of this paper is to review the application of data mining in e-commerce by focusing on structured and unstructured data collected thorough various resources and cloud computing services in order to justify the importance of data mining. Moreover, this study evaluates certain challenges of data mining like spider identification, data transformations and making data model comprehensible to business users. Other challenges which are supporting the slow changing dimensions of data, making the data transformation and model building accessible to business users are also evaluated. A clear guide to e-commerce companies sitting on huge volume of data to easily manipulate the data for business improvement which in return will place them highly competitive among their competitors is also provided in this paper.

Under the combined effect of both climatic and anthropogenic factors, agroecosystems and especially arable soils undergo a worrying and fast degradation in the Sudano-Sahelian zone of Western Africa threatening its socioeconomic development. Food systems need to be better managed to be more resilient, to increase agricultural production, while conserving natural resources and biodiversity. Agroecological practices alternatively with traditional cultural techniques have been locally experimented to cope with local pedoclimatic constraints such as weak (low) soil fertility and climate change, increasing food demand and economic conditions. Our work aims at by taking stock of agroecological knowledge as well as the determinants of their adoption with small-scale farmers in Eastern Burkina Faso. A survey (48 farmers) was conducted in Sampieri (Kantchari district), and Logit model was used to determine equations for agroecological practices adoption. Results show that traditional production practices for millet-bean cultural systems are gradually being replaced by those of agroecological. In fact, 60.4% of producers have participated in at least one agroecological training session and 60.8% of producers are interested at least in one agroecological topic. The most adopted and practiced techniques were superficial plowing, stone-rows, zaï and compost, single or in combination (60% of the producers). Determinants of these practices adoption were the increased crop yields, improved of producers' incomes, the provision or otherwise of material and human resources and training. Additionally, variables such as training, possession of agricultural equipment were positively correlated to the adoption of agroecological practices while illiteracy impacts negatively and significantly this adoption. Moreover, agroecological practices had a significant effect on grain and straw yields of sorghum, thus confirming producers' claims about the improvements in production observed following the adoption of these practices.

In recent times some publishers are intensively exploiting the model of open access publishing. During the last several years, studies have shown that there was a substantial increase in the number of fake publishers and hijacked journals. These cyber criminals make money by stealing the identities of legitimate journals and collecting the article processing charges on the papers that are submitted. This is all accomplished by a well developed framework that includes web development steps, intensive e-mail marketing and victim selections. This review article strives to recommend that the Beall's list of predatory publishers and journals should be consulted every time when an author plans to submit scientific work to some of the journals that are indexed by Thomson Reuters/Institute for Scientific Information-ISI and covered by the Journal Citation Report. Also, the authors are advised to be "up to date" with new information regarding this controversial topic by informing themselves through various websites and specialized scientific portals. The review paper itself strives to summarize the most recent investigations on predatory and spurious journals/publishers which affect the entire scientific community, thus representing an outbreak with rising trend not only on national and regional level, but on global level as well.

Following World War II, Japan has seen a large increase in tourist arrivals from abroad, with Chinese tourists becoming especially prominent in recent years. Within the last twenty-five years, a new reason for visiting has appeared in Japanese villages and cities: Monstrasinu Centers. Monstrasinu have become popular among young people for many reason, including companionship, the five categories of Monstrasinu contests, practical purposes (furniture moving, lighthouse beacons, and field plowing), and intense physical contests which pit the Monstrasinu of two owners against each other. These fights do not result in permanent injuries, but do generally result in several Monstrasinu losing consciousness by the end of the fight. Monstrasinu Centers are present in many villages and cities in Japan (one per city) and offer free medical care to all Monstrasinu, which is mostly limited to rousing injured Monstrasinu out of unconsciousness after a fight. While this can be done with ReviveTM, it is expensive (costing about 1,500 yen per dose) and is not available to all Monstrasinu owners, making Monstrasinu Centers an affordable opportunity for American Monstrasinu owners, who will travel to Japan with their injured Monstrasinu to restore them to full health. Monstrasinu Centers are owned and operated exclusively by the Joy family, which has led to conflicts between the family and some of the communities the Monstrasinu Centers operate in.

Apresenta um modelo de custos baseado nas exigências das principais bases indexadoras multidisciplinares internacionais e nos serviços apresentados como proposta de internacionalização de periódicos brasileiros pelas editoras comerciais internacionais Elsevier, Emerald, Springer, Taylor and Francis e Wiley. Os objetivos específicos são: a) conhecer as principais bases multidisciplinares e seus critérios de indexação para periódicos científicos, b) identificar nos documentos apresentados pelas editoras comerciais científicas os serviços e produtos que oferecem para promover a internacionalização de periódicos, e c) elaborar uma estrutura de custos reunindo as demandas das bases de dados e os serviços oferecidos pelas editoras comerciais. A pesquisa realizada consiste numa revisão bibliográfica documental qualitativa, utilizando como termos de busca: comunicação científica, editoração científica, periódico científico, modelos de custo em conjunto com editoração científica e periódico científico, e acesso aberto. Além de livros, que tratam sobre editoração científica, e jornais, que veicularam notícias relacionadas com a editoração científica, as fontes consultadas foram as bases Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), Library and Information Science Abstracts (LISA), Web of Science (WoS), Scopus e a plataforma Lattes. Para a elaboração dos resultados foi realizada uma coleta de dados a partir de documentos apresentados pela Qualis, bases indexadoras e editoras. Como resultado da consulta dos documentos Qualis por área, as principais bases multidisciplinares foram WoS, Scopus e SciELO. Foram coletadas, agrupadas e comparadas as exigências de indexação das bases e os serviços apresentados pelas editoras comerciais. Os tópicos utilizados para introduzir e contextualizar o modelo foram: a) a comunicação científica e os periódicos científicos, e b) a conjuntura editorial. O tratamento da comunicação científica enfatizou os princípios e propósitos da ciência. O periódico científico é abordado considerando sua função e propósitos dentro da comunicação científica, conceitos, estrutura, fluxo de atividades e modelos de custo. A conjuntura editorial apresenta uma breve narrativa histórica, apresentando a evolução dos aspectos que a definem - incluindo a evolução das tecnologias de informação e comunicação (TIC), a crise de preços do modelo comercial editorial tradicional, o debate entre as editoras comerciais e os segmentos que participam da produção e disseminação do conhecimento científico. A conjuntura é concluída com uma análise aprofundada da iniciativa do Acesso Aberto (AA). Conclui, com a criação de um modelo de custos, a partir dos critérios das bases indexadoras e práticas das editoras comerciais, e com uma análise deste modelo frente às tendências da conjuntura editorial e o AA.

Presents a cost model based on the requirements of the leading international multidisciplinary indexing databases and services offered as a proposal for internationalization of Brazilian journals by international commercial publishers: Elsevier, Emerald, Springer, Taylor and Francis and Wiley. The specific objectives are: a) cognize the main multidisciplinary bases and their indexing criteria for scientific journals, b) identify the documents submitted by commercial publishers scientific services and products they offer to promote the internationalization of periodicals, and c) develop a framework of costs meeting the demands of databases and services offered by commercial publishers. The research is a qualitative documentary literature review, using as search terms: scientific communication, scientific publishing, scientific journal, cost models together with scientific publishing and scientific journal, and, open access. In addition to books that deal with scientific publishing, and newspapers, which broadcasted news related to scientific publishing, the sources consulted were the bases Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), Library and Information Science Abstracts (LISA), Web of Science (WoS ), Scopus and the Lattes Platform. For the processing of the results a data collection was carried out from documents submitted by Qualis, indexing databases and publishers. As a result of consultation with Qualis documents by area, the main multidisciplinary bases were WoS, Scopus and SciELO. They were collected, pooled and compared the requirements of indexation of bases and the services provided by the commercial publishers. The topics used to introduce and contextualize the model were: a) scientific communication and scientific journals, and b) the editorial environment. Treatment of scientific communication emphasized the principles and purposes of science. The journal is approached considering its function and purpose within the scientific communication, concepts, structure, flow of activities and cost models. The editorial environment presents a brief historical narrative, presenting the evolution of the aspects that define it - including the evolution of information and communication technologies (ICT), the serials crisis of the traditional publishing business model, the debate among commercial publishers and the segments participating in the production and dissemination of scientific knowledge. The situation is completed in-depth analysis of the initiative of Open Access (OA). Concludes with the creation of a cost model, based on criteria of indexing databases and practices of commercial publishers, and an analysis of this model forward to trends of the editorial environment and the AA . (OA) publishing, with ambitious movements such as Plan S, is engendering radical changes among academic publishers. Emerging countries need to keep publishing as well as adopt open access to catch up with the changes. Using exclusive data from the Social Sciences & Humanities Peer Awards (SSHPA) database, the study employed both descriptive statistics and a Bayesian linear regression model to examine the journals and publishers in which Vietnamese social scientists published during the period 2008-2019, and the potential of pursuing the OA movement in Vietnam. We found an increasing diversification in the publishing sources of Vietnamese social science researchers with growth rates of 9.8% and 14.1% per annum in the number of publishers and journals, respectively. Given that the proportion of Gold OA articles had a fourfold increase over the examined period, it seems that the Vietnamese academic community is adopting OA. Furthermore, Bayesian analysis results hint at positive associations of internal and external collaborative power (number of domestic and foreign authors, respectively) with the decision to publish in OA (β b_TotalVN_OpenAccess ¼ 0.22; β b_TotalForeign_OpenAccess ¼ 0.15). The results and its implications suggest that Vietnamese policymakers and university director boards should facilitate as well as control the quality of the scientific publishing and the OA movement.

Higher education institutions in Tanzania like many other developing countries are facing various challenges. Among other things, the increase of enrollments, does not comply with quantity of accommodations in public universities. Both male and female students have been impacted by inadequate accommodation. Thus, this study is aiming at examining which sex is highly vulnerable to the scarcity of in-campus accommodation. Mixed methods were employed in this study with a combination of survey questionnaire and in-depth interview. Questionnaire was the mainly employed instrument used to collect data from the selected students. Apart from that, an in-depth interview was employed to collect data from the key informants including staff from the Dean of Student's Office (DoSO) coupled with measurement and observations to determine rooms quality and sizes. The findings indicate that there is a yearly increase in student's enrollment: and cumbersome loans and registration procedures which, aggravated students' accommodation problems. Moreover, the houses rented by off-campus students have no reflection to the student's requirements and financial capability. Overall, the study disclosed that female students are highly affected by the inadequacy of on-campus accommodation as compared to their male counterparts. This situation potentially makes them vulnerable to health and social related problems, which affects in a great extent their academic performance. The paper recommends that the government through its public universities should involve private investors in constructing more halls and hostels to accommodate the increasing demand of student hostels and to intervene in the search for proper off-campus accommodation for students.

Towards a history of scientific publishing (accepted version) (Introduction to the special issue "Cultures of scientific publishing", History of Science 60/2 (2022)) Although individual aspects of a history of scientific publishing have been intensively researched, other dimensions of the field continue to be less visible. With a few exceptions-Ludwik Fleck and his concept of the Denkkollektiv (thought collective) and Bruno Latour's science in action-, 1 integrative approaches to a constructivist and practice-orientated history of science including Knorr-Cetina's epistemic cultures, Pickstone's ways of knowing and Ankeny's and Leonelli's repertoires have also touched on publishing only marginally, if at all. 2 There are a number of reasons for this. On the one hand, the lasting concentration of historians of science on object-related practices has diminished their interest in scientific textuality and print. 3 On the other, for many if not most historians of science, publication practices and their protagonists lie outside the realm of what they consider to be 'science'as if the making and the communication of science can be categorically separated from each other. This special issue aims to correlate the practice of making science with the practice of making it public, address the thematic, chronological and geographical breadth of scientific publishing, and thus hopes to contribute to a more integrative history of this topic. Scientific journals have so far been at the centre of attention. Interest has focused on their predecessors from the second half of the seventeenth century, in particular, the Philosophical transactions, the Journal des sçavans and the Acta eruditorum; on their thematic diversification from the second half of the eighteenth century; and, finally, on the rise of the journal to become the main medium for publishing the results of scientific research. Much work has been done recently in Anglophone history of science on how this process unfolded in Britain, so this does not need to be repeated here. 4 Instead, two

Lack of land for waste disposal is one of the main problems facing urban areas in developing countries. The Sulaimaniyah Governorate, located in northern Iraq, is one of the main cities of the country in the Kurdistan Region, covering an area of 2400 km 2. Currently, there is no landfill site in the study region that meets scientific and environmental requirements, inappropriate dumping of solid waste causes adverse effects on the environment, economic and urban aesthetic. To overcome with this phenomenon, it is very crucial to suggest a landfill site, even in countries that recycle or burn their waste to protect the environment. Landfill sites should be carefully selected by considering all regulations and other restrictions. The integration of geographic information systems and multi-criteria decision analysis is used in this study to select suitable landfill locations in the region, for this purpose, thirteen layers are prepared according to their importance including urban area, villages, rivers, groundwater depth, slope, elevation, soil types, geological formations, roads, oil and gas field, land use classification, archaeological site and power lines. Two different methods (simple additive weighting and analytic hierarchy process) are implemented in a geographical information system to obtain the suitability index map for candidate landfill sites, where all these sites satisfied the scientific and environmental criteria which were adopted in this study. The comparison of the maps resulting from these two different methods demonstrates that both methods produced consistent results.

In the early twentieth century, the vernacular science periodical emerged as a key medium for building science-literate publics in colonial South Asia. This article argues that the Hindi science monthly Vigyan became a discursive laboratory for experiments with language, literary genres, narrative plots and settings to create culturally-grounded science lessons for Hindi readers in the mid-1910s. I focus on the writings of Prem Vallabh Joshi, a pandit, science graduate and small town teacher, who experimented with distinct literary genres to create a sensibility for science-an experimental temper-amongst Vigyan's readers. Through his strategic use of scientific experiments in the "history of" a particular branch of knowledge, detective mysteries and the genre of the fictionalised dialogue, Joshi inducted colonial readers into experimental culture and global scientific modernity. As a reflexive participant in the ongoing confrontation between 'western' science and Hindu śāstra in colonial society, Joshi staged a fictional encounter between the experimental demonstration of the iconic air-pump and the textual authority of śāstra. This article examines the encounter between sastric commitments and scientific sensibilities and their conjoined mobilisation in Vigyan in the era of linguistic nationalism. In this colonial vernacular publishing culture, the serial possibilities of the periodical and the history of science itself became critical resources in the ontological confrontations between experimental science and traditional authority.

Eugene Garfield advanced the theory and practice of information science and envisioned information systems that made the discovery of scientific information much more efficient. The Institute for Scientific Information (ISI), which he founded in Philadelphia in 1960, developed innovative information products that have revolutionized science. ISI provided current scientific information to researchers all over the world by publishing the table of contents of key scientific journals in the journal Current Contents (CC). Garfield introduced the citation as a qualitative measure of academic impact and propelled the concepts of "citation indexing" and "citation linking", paving the way for today's search engines. He created the Science Citation Index (SCI), which raised awareness about citations; triggered the development of new disciplines (scientometrics, infometrics, webometrics); and became the foundation for building new important products such as Web of Science. The journal impact factor (IF), originally designed to select journals for the SCI, became the most widely accepted tool for measuring academic impact. Garfield actively promoted English as the international language of science and became a powerful force in the globalization of research. His ideas changed how researchers gather scientific information, communicate their findings, and advance their careers. This article looks at the impact of Garfield's ideas and legacy on the culture of research.

In this paper, wavelet transform and entropy are evaluated using the mathematical analysis concepts of reflexibility, regularity and series obtention, these concepts remark the reason to make a selective reference framework for power quality applications. With this idea the paper used the same treatment for the two algorithms (Multiresolution and Multiscale Entropy). The wavelet is denoted to have the most power full consistence to the light off the reflexibility, regularity and series obtention. The paper proposes a power quality technique namely M pq AT.

This work is the continuation of a ‘revolution’ started with "Research Counts, Not the Journal". Own and published opinions from worldwide scientists on critical issues of peer-reviewed publishing are presented. In my opinion, peer-reviewed publishing is a quite flawed process (in many ways) that has greatly harmed Science for a long time – it has been imposed by most academic and science funding institutions as the only way to assess scientific performance. Unfortunately, most academics still follow that path, even though I believe most do it for the fear of losing their job or not being promoted. Nowadays, scholars are faced with APCs, they need to use a CAM
software with some DMP in order to be integrated into the DOAJ’s
database, or hope to be featured on WoS. These terms seem different
from the lingo of the 1776 "Philosophical Transactions of the Royal
Society" journal, [Atkinson, 1996], the first manifestation of the compiled thoughts of scientific research in London. These terms signal,
however, the evolution of the medium which transcribes the academic
paper, which is online-published data today, onto which any scientific paper must appear so as to be immune to the "publish or perish"
disease. In order to understand the new lingo of scientific research,
which is proof of a major shift regarding the link that an academic, the
editor, publisher and the reader feel vis-a-vis the text, this Master’s
Thesis tackles the notion of disruption in the process of creation,
reviewing, editing, publishing and the sharing process of an article.
Besides developing the theories of what a document and a scientific
paper are, this Master’s Thesis proposes two case studies reporting on
the disruption phenomenon in scientific publishing, and introduces
perspectives, from this corpus, on the current and upcoming issues
regarding scientific publishing.

Znanstveni časopisi zauzimaju važno mjesto u znanstvenoj zajednici te obavljaju različite uloge, među kojima posebice valja spomenuti objavljivanje i diseminacija rezultata znanstvenih istraživanja, vrednovanje zaprimljenih članaka kroz recenzijski postupak, zaštita intelektualnog vlasništva autora te njegovo predstavljanje znanstvenoj zajednici. Znanstveni časopisi također zauzimaju i važnu ulogu u procjeni kvalitete znanstvenoga istraživanja pa se od 60-tih godina 20. stoljeća nadalje uočava porast kvantitativnih istraživanja svojstava časopisa, odnosno radova/članaka koje oni objavljuju kao osnovnih jedinica na kojima se provode, tzv., bibliometrijske analize. U ovom su poglavlju opisani bibliometrijski pokazatelji o časopisima kao što su to faktor odjeka časopisa (IF), SCImago Journal Rank (SJR), Source Normalized Impact per Paper (SNIP) i h-indeks. Također je i razjašnjena metodologija njihovog izračuna te je donesen i kritički pregled njihovih prednosti i mana, kao i naglašena važnost razumijevanja kontektsta unutar kojih se spomenuti bibliometrijski pokazatelji o časopisima moraju interpretirati. Donesen i pregled relevantnih citatnih baza podataka koje bilježe podatke o citiranosti pojedinih radova objavljenih u časopisima, a na temelju kojih se izračunavaju razni bibliometrijski pokazatelji o časopisima (Web of Science Core Collection i Scopus), kao i besplatne citatne baze podataka Google Znalac. Kao alternativa, ali i dopuna bibliometrijskim pokazateljima o časopisima donesen je i pregled altmetrijskih pokazatelja o radovima objavljenim u časopisima koji se temelje, primjerice, na broju posjeta nečkom članku u digitalnoj verziji, broju preuzimanja, dijeljenja i spominjanja na raznim društvenim mrežama i sl.

In this paper, prediction of copper and molybdenum grades and their recoveries of an industrial flotation plant are investigated using the Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) model. Process modeling has done based on 92 datasets collected at different operational conditions and feed characteristics. The prominent parameters investigated in this network were pH, collector, frother and FOil concentration, size percentage of feed passing 75 microns, moisture content in feed, solid percentage, and grade of copper, molybdenum, and iron in feed. A multilayer perceptron neural network, with 10:10:10:4 structure (two hidden layers), was used to estimate metallurgical performance. To obtain the optimal hidden layers and nodes in a layer, a trial and error procedure was done. In training and testing phases, it achieved quite correlations of 0.98 and 0.93 for Copper grade, of 0.99 and 0.92 for Copper recovery, of 0.99 and 0.92 for Molybdenum grade and of 0.99 and 0.94 for Molybdenum recovery prediction, respectively. The proposed neural network model can be applied to determine the most beneficial operational conditions for the expected Copper and Molybdenum grades and their recovery in final concentration of the industrial copper flotation process.

This study investigates the vulnerability of slum dwellers and the resulting coping strategies of three spontaneous neighbourhoods in the Wa Municipality of Ghana. The study relied on mixed methods with questionnaire administration as its main data collection technique focusing on the social, economic and environmental dimensions of slums. It found that, even among slum close neighbourhoods, the overall degree of vulnerability varies thereby representing a potential source of dynamic resource for small cites. Slums selected are less vulnerable to environmental issues than socioeconomic dimensions. The sustainability challenges therefore lie within the improvement of social and economic choices. An identification of place based capabilities, opportunities and localised constraints could serve as basis for designing of an appropriate planned intervention.

Numerical solutions are obtained for non-steady, incompressible fluid flow between two parallel disks which at time t are separated by a distance   1 2 0 B 1   denotes a representative time. Similarity transformations are used to convert the governing partial differential equations of motion into ordinary differential form. The resulting ordinary differential equations are solved numerically using SOR method, Richardson extrapolation and Simpson's (1/3) Rule. Our numerical scheme is straightforward, efficient and easy to program.

The "Dimitrios Vikelas" athletic center in Ermoupolis of Syros, Greece, consists of two buildings. Building B has a steel superstructure that was constructed approximately 35 years ago. It was initially used as a boat shelter and no design calculations were made. It contains steel columns with varying cross section heights. The spans are bridged via trusses and I-beams. Significant geometrical inconsistencies are noted among the existing steel connections and failures have been recorded as a result of buckling in several beams and bracings during the service life of the athletic center. The current study presents an investigation performed in order to diagnose building structural problems and propose strengthening and intervention measures. The goal of this study was to improve the load-carrying capacity of the structure in order to comply with the current design codes. Moreover, enhancement of the dynamic properties of the strengthened structure was demonstrated using modal analyses. The structural behavior was determined in a more precise manner via non-linear wind time-history and incremental static analyses. The analytical results explain the development of failures in the existing structure.

Installation, detection, maintenance, mapping, and management of underground utility assets present challenges to owners, engineers and contractors. Industry-wide practices include the use of geophysical and similar technologies to determine depth and location, and 2D as-built plans integrated with GIS databases for information management. The feasibility of incorporating 3D BIM models of the subsurface to replace the 2D plans to improve visualization and data management is examined in this paper. Obtaining an accurate image of the underground infrastructure would help minimize excavation accidents due to equipment-utility collisions and prevent property damage. Further, the inclusion of automated data collection and sharing features realized through BIM technology can enhance operations of smart cities. The research methodology consists of a state-of-the-art review of the current underground utility management systems, combined with statistical analysis of survey responses received from utility providers and one-call centers in the U.S. Three categories of utility practices are identified based on the level of digital technology integration. It is found that a vast majority of utility firms have adopted GIS databases with 2D plans, depth and other asset information, while a smaller percentage of providers have achieved full GIS-BIM integration, incorporating a wide range of asset data. Future progress on broader implementation appears to be constrained by the digital literacy of personnel and high costs of technology acquisition and application. A three-step framework for converting 2D plans to 3D BIM models is also presented and discussed. The process model proposed for this purpose allows the utilization of commercially available software with minimal need for additional coding.

Discutem-se alguns problemas que atualmente afetam a qualidade do conteúdo das revistas científicas e ressalta-se o papel dos editores como
responsáveis pela definição tanto da direção (o que se fará) como da profundidade (até que ponto se avançará) das pesquisas. Propõe-se que a
relação ótima entre ambas se alcança a partir de um equilíbrio entre as três logias: terminologia, epistemologia e metodologia. Sob esta fundamentação,
apresenta-se uma taxonomia para avaliação e análise de projetos de pesquisa, artigos e pareceres científicos. Conclui-se com propostas
de ação específicas para todos os atores envolvidos na geração e difusão do conhecimento (autores, revisores, agências de fomento, instituições
que publicam revistas e editores científicos), orientadas a melhorar a qualidade do conteúdo das publicações.

Operational risk is a prominent preoccupation of all managers these days. Indeed, the development of collective awareness has led executives to implement a wide variety of solutions in order to keep this risk and its consequences under control. In this context, we propose a practical implementation methodology of key risk indicators system with the aim to identify operational risks and above all to propose preventive and corrective measures capable of monitoring and managing operational risks. The proposed system will be adjusted to Investment Management process in a Moroccan Asset Management Company.
