A controlled clinical trial was conducted to assess the effectiveness of OscillococcinumR in the treatment of patients with influenza-like syndromes. 188 patients received the test drug and 184 patients were assigned to the placebo. Data were recorded by the participating physicians at the beginning of the treatment, after 48 hours and after 7–10 days. During the first few days, the patients recorded their rectal temperature twice a day (mornings and evenings), 9 symptoms on a rating scale (cough, catarrh, sore throat, muscle pain, etc.), and use of medication. Recovery was defined as follows: ‘rectal temperature < 37.5°C and no headache or muscle pain’. Effectiveness was defined as a statistically significant greater decrease in symptoms after 48 hours in the verum group or a shorter duration of symptoms in comparison to the placebo group. Towards the end of Louis Pasteur's life, he confessed that germs may not be the cause of disease after all, but may simply be another symptom of disease. He had come to realize that germs seem to lead to illness primarily when the person's immune and defense system (what biologists call "host resistance") is not strong enough to combat them. The "cause" of disease is not simply a bacteria but also the factors that compromise host resistance, including the person's hereditary endowment, his nutritional state, the stresses in his life, and his psychological state. In describing one of his experiments with silkworms, Pasteur asserted that the microorganisms present in such large numbers in the intestinal tract of the sick worms were "more an effect than a cause of disease. With these far-reaching insights Pasteur conceived an ecological understanding of infectious disease. Infectious disease does not simply have a single cause but is the result of a complex web of interactions within and outside the individual.

Endometrial ovarian cysts are one of the most common gynecological disorders found in women of reproductive age. They are frequently the cause of surgical interventions, undertaken not only by gynecologists but also by pelvic surgeons. Therefore, at least in this context, endometrial ovarian cysts should be considered an interdisciplinary problem. Here we present a case of 22 years old female having irregular menses, painful menstrual periods with heavy menstrual bleeding for the last 9 months, she had consulted with Gynaecologist and diagnosed with a left ovarian Endometriotic Cyst. She was treated with conventional medical therapies for the last 1year but no successful result. At this point, she took homoeopathic treatment (Pulsatilla followed by Medorrhinum) and showed normal USG findings within one year. This case shows the positive role of constitutional anti-miasmatic homoeopathic treatment in Endometriotic cyst.

Abstract
The current article of Uttar Pradesh (UP) is about the ASHAs who are the daughters-in-law of a family that resides in the same community that they serve as the grassroots health worker since 2005 when the NRHM was introduced in the Empowered Action Group (EAG) states. UP is one such Empowered Action Group (EAG) state. The current study explores the actual activities done by Recently Delivered Women (RDW) on three activities related to safe delivery practices. These are use of Disposable Delivery Kit (DDK), tool used to tie and cut the umbilical cord. From the catchment area of each ASHA, two RDWs were selected who had a child in the age group of 3 to 6 months during the survey. The action profiles of the RDWs on these aspects of safe delivery practices are reflected upon to give a picture that represents the entire state of UP.

The relevance of the study assumes significance as detailed data on the modalities of actual actions done by the RDWs separately for use of DDK and the tools regarding cord care for their last delivery to make the delivery safe are not available even in large scale surveys like National Family Health Survey 4 done in 2015-16. The current study gives an insight in to these three activities separately. The current study is basically regarding the summary of three actions on safe delivery practices done & replied by RDWs during their peri and post- natal stage.

When poor safe delivery practices are done by the RDWs and their family members, it shows up poorly in the Neonatal Mortality Rate (NMR) & there by impacting the Infant Mortality Rates (IMR) in India and especially in UP through the emergence of Maternal & Neonatal Tetanus (MNT). The current IMR in India is 33 where as it is 41 in UP which means 8 points higher per 1000 livebirths (SRS, May 2019). Similarly, the current NMR in India is 23 per 1000 livebirths (UNIGME,2018). As NMR data is not available separately for states, the national level data also hold good for the states and that’s how for the state of UP as well. These mortalities are the impact indicators and such indicators can be reduced through long drawn processes that includes effective and timely actions on newborn care by RDWs in their deliveries. This is the area of actions detailing that the current study throws out in relation to placental delivery.

A total of four districts of Uttar Pradesh were selected purposively for the study and the data collection was conducted in the villages of the respective districts with the help of a pre-tested structured interview schedule with both close-ended and open-ended questions. In addition, in-depth interviews were also conducted amongst the RDWs and a total 500 respondents had participated in the study.

The results showed that the ASHAs in all the four districts were not following up all the deliveries in their catchment area as there was poor use of DDKs by the RDWs. The tool used for cutting the cord was the next action of RDWs. Among the four districts, it was seen that in Gonda district, 1% of RDWs each replied that sickle and scissors were used to cut the umbilical cords of their last born while another 1% did not recall about the event.  In the most developed district in the study, it emerged that 12 percentage of RDWs had used boiled thread from home for delivery.

Homoeopathy is a therapeutic system founded by German physician Dr Samuel Hahnemann in the late 1700’s and has been used for 200 years around the world in acute and chronic disease conditions. Homoeopathy has also flourished during the times of epidemic diseases and the use of homoeopathic remedies as genus epidemicus and homoeoprophylaxis began with Hahnemann. Although the effectiveness of the homoeopathic remedies in epidemics has been scarcely proved by controlled studies, yet there is vast historical evidence which proves that homoeopathic remedies have been successfully used to prevent these conditions. The homoeopathic literature was searched to find out the historical evidences of the use of homoeopathic remedies during epidemics and pandemics. Homoeopathic treatment during epidemics is reviewed in Eight diseases and their results are found for epidemics of Scarlet fever, Typhus, Cholera, Dysentery, Spanish flu, Diphtheria, Measles, Whooping cough. Also the prophylactic effect of homoeopathic medicines is found in Fourteen epidemic diseases namely Scarlet fever, Smallpox, Poliomyelitis, Meningitis, Whooping cough, Dengue, Cholera, Japanese Encephalitis, Leptospirosis, Diphtheria, Influenza, Hepatitis, Malaria, Chikungunya. Many clinical trials have also been conducted during the epidemics of Chikungunya, Influenza like illness, Dengue, Acute Encephalitis Syndrome/Japanese Encephalitis. The current novel Coronavirus disease, COVID-19, has rapidly spread over the globe and has been declared as pandemic by World Health Organization. Till now, no specific treatment or vaccine has emerged to control this pandemic. However, many homoeopaths over different parts of the world have treated a wide range of COVID positive cases with different remedies. This review not only brings forward the success stories of homoeopathy during past epidemics but also presents its utility in the current pandemic.

2018 brought a novelty: work on the repertory not only by me but also by Dr. Rajesh Rajendran, also co-admin for the facebook group Complete Repertory, Clinical Cases and practicing homeopath in Chennai, India. This has helped us to include more contemporary material than I alone could tackle in the past years, which is good news for many colleagues.

Background: Nasal polyp is hypertrophied, pedunculated, loose, fibro-oedematous mucosa of nose and the para nasal air-sinuses. The surface is lined with pseudo-stratified ciliated columnar epithelium. Nasal problems represent a major health problem in developing countries and also a high risk to travellers who visit the cold rich countries. Conservative estimates place the global health problems reveal that 0.1% children and 1% adult population is affected by nasal polyp. Male are more affected by female & chance of developing is 1-20 in 1000, after the age of 60 and has no racial predilection. Nasal polyps are frequently dealt-with cases in day-today practice. Among its different varieties, simple mucus polyps are very common. It has two distinct varieties-ethmoidal and antro-choanal polyps. Almost always, an allergic or infectious aetiology is present. Nasal obstruction, rhinitis, headache, loss of smell, snoring, sleep apnoea etc. are some of the very disturbing complaints from which the patients suffer. Appropriate diagnosis, correct general measures and judicious homeopathic approach not only uproot the disease, can also prevent recurrence of Nasal polyps quite effectively and this treatment is more cost effectiveness to other conventional treatment. Material And Methods: Forty Nasal polypus patients were taken up for the study and treated according to symptoms similarity of homeopathic system of medicine with different medicines in different time-period from a non-government OPD homeopathic hospital and four private chambers and clinics. Results: By the end of this study showed, out of 40 cases 77.5% are almost improved, 5% are improving well, 10% cases are not responded well and rest of 7.5% gave up treatment. Conclusion: Almost all of the cases belong to either fundamentally sycosis or dominantly tubercular miasm. This observational study also showed Calcarea Carbonicum was most used as a symptomatic homeopathic intervention that extent to which the observed effects are due to the lifestyle regulation and placebo or context effects associated with the treatment needs clarification in future explanatory studies. Background: Vitiligo is a common hypopigmentation disorder with significant psychological impact. An evaluation of homeopathic treatment was performed in individuals with vitiligo in a hospital outpatient clinic in West Bengal, India. Methods: Thirty participants (median age 27 years old, 57% female) were recruited for a prospective open-label pilot study and treated with individualized homeopathic medicines for 6 months. Efficacy was assessed after 3 months and 6 months using Vitiligo Area Scoring Index (VASI) score, Vitiligo European Task Force (VETF) score, and Dermatological Life Quality Index (DLQI) score, which are validated outcome measures evaluating the area, intensity, spread of depigmentation of vitiligo lesions, and quality of life (QoL). Results: A total of 27 participants completed the trial; 3 dropped out. After 6 months of treatment, the median VASI total score improved significantly by 0.1 units (p=0.003), from 0.8 (0.5, 1.5) to 0.7 (0.3, 0.8) on a scale from 0 (no depigmentation) to 100 (completely depigmented). Similarly, the VETF median score improved by 2 units (p=0.0001) from 1 (0, 1) to -1 (-1, 0) and the staging score changed from 1 (1, 2) to 1 (0, 1), p=0.002. The total DLQI median score exhibited significant reduction from 21 (17, 22) to 13.6 (10, 17), change 7.4 (p=0.0001), as also did its components. Conclusions: Individualized homeopathic treatment associated with significant improvement of VASI, VETF and DLQI scores. The extent to which the observed effects were due to placebo needs clarification in future randomized double-blind clinical studies preceded by feasibility studies.

Background: Hypertension is the most common cardiovascular disorder posing a major public health challenge to the population. Homoeopathy, although widely used in hypertension, is assumed to have nothing but placebo effects and its specific clinical effects are frequently ascribed as implausible. Aims: To evaluate whether individualized homoeopathy can produce any significant effect different from placebo in essential hypertension by comparing the lowering of blood pressure between groups. Settings and Design: A prospective, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled, parallel-arm clinical trial was conducted at the Outpatient Clinic of the Mahesh Bhattacharyya Homoeopathy Medical College and Hospital, West Bengal. Material and Methods: Out of 233 hypertensives assessed for eligibility, 150 were enrolled and randomized (verum/homoeopathy 70, control/placebo 80). A total of 18 dropped out and 132 were regular (verum 64, control 68). The outcome measures were assessed after three months and six months. Statistical Analysis: The intention-to-treat population was subjected to statistical analysis. Group differences were tested using the χ 2 test and independent t test. Repeated measure (ANOVA) was performed to compare the data of two groups obtained longitudinally at baseline, three months and six months. Results: The baseline data were not significantly different between the groups. After six months, mean Systolic Blood Pressure (SBP) reduction was 26.6 mm Hg (95% CI 21.5, 31.7) in the homoeopathy group and SBP increased by 3.6 mm Hg (95% CI -8.7, 1.5) in the placebo group. Similarly, the mean Diastolic Blood Pressure (SBP) in the homoeopathy group reduced by 11.8 mm Hg (95% CI 9.2, 14.4) and increased by 1.6 mm Hg (95% CI -3.6, 0.4) in the placebo group. Repeated measures ANOVA also showed significant difference (P=0.0001) between the groups. Natrum muriaticum, Calcarea carbonica, Sulphur, Thuja occidentalis, Nitric acid and Medorrhinum were frequently prescribed. Conclusion: Individualized homoeopathy produced a significantly different hypotensive effect than placebo.

Background-
Osteoarthritis is a slow degenerative disorder of weight-bearing joints which leads to degeneration of hyaline cartilage with or without inflammation of synovial membrane and subchondral bone and may form osteophytes around the edge of the joint surface.
Homoeopathy considers Osteoarthritis as a chronic disorder of chronic miasmatic origin. Hence the treatment is to be given should remove the miasmatic block to cure the disease which is possible with the individualization after considering both mental and physical aspect of the patient.
Aim And Objectives-
This study was aimed to understand the efficacy of homoeopathic medicines in cases of Osteoarthritis using Constitutional Homoeopathic approach.
The present study was undertaken to fulfil the following objectives:
• To assess the clinical pattern of Osteoarthritis.
• To evaluate the significance of Miasmatic prescription in cases of Osteoarthritis.

Material And Method-
In this study, 30 diagnosed cases of Osteoarthritis were selected according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. Case taking was done by principles of Organon of medicine in the case taking proforma and importance was given to mental and physical generals and Miasm was considered as a sole prescription criterion. Symptom analysis and interpretation with reportorial interpretation were done as per kent’s evaluation of symptoms. The prescription was based on the totality of symptoms, reportorial totality and analysis and finally after referring to Materia Medica. Follow up was evaluated by changes in clinical presentation, changes in score of WOMAC Osteoarthritis index and VAS pain scale in every 15 days, and final statistical analysis of data was done.
Conclusion-
In this study, findings are suggesting that the constitutional approach in homoeopathic prescribing can play a significant role in the relief of pain and treatment of Osteoarthritis.

Background: Anaemia in young adults is a common phenomenon which leads to complications among adolescents affecting their daily activities. Objective: The objective was to evaluate the efficacy of Homoeopathic remedy, Vanadium metallicum 6c in increasing the haemoglobin concentration, mean corpuscular volume and serum ferritin in cases of iron deficiency anaemia. Materials and methods: Young adults between the ages of 18 to 25 with haemoglobin levels ≤12 g% and ≥8 g% were investigated for IDA by measuring serum ferritin and MCV levels. Vanadium metallicum 6c was prescribed for 4 weeks after which the investigations were repeated. Results: 25 females were identified to have low haemoglobin levels. Symptomatic improvement with mean haemoglobin levels increasing from 11.612g% to 11.944 g% and MCV from 80.71fL to 81.80fL was seen after treatment. Serum ferritin levels showed an average decrease from 41.054 ng/dl to 35.649ng/dl. Conclusion: Vanadium metallicum can be used to treat symptoms and increase Hb levels in IDA but should be used in caution when serum ferritin levels are below par

Abstract: The following is a case report of a patient suffering from sickle cell disease with ß Thalassemia. The patient has been under homeopathic treatment since 1984(30 years) during which she was followed up extensively and management of acute episodes of pains and infections was done with homeopathic approach along with the constitutional treatment. The pathogenesis of the clinical symptoms, the totality of the case, miasmatic aspect were all considered for finding out the indicated remedy at various phases of the illness. All the clinical details and investigations have been documented.

Dermatophytes, the most common causative agents, are assuming high significance in developing countries like India. These organisms metabolise keratin and cause a range of pathologic clinical presentations, including tinea pedis, tinea corporis, tinea cruris, etc. Although usually painless and superficial, these fungi can behave in an invasive manner, causing deeper and disseminated infection and should not be neglected. The lesions may become widespread and may have significant negative social, psychological, and occupational health effects, and can compromise the quality of life significantly. The recent prevalence of dermatophytosis in India ranges from 36.6-78.4%. Currently, dermatologists across India are inundated with cases of dermatophytosis presenting with unusual large lesions, ring within ring lesions, multiple site lesions (tinea cruris et corporis), and corticosteroid modified lesions, making diagnosis a difficult bet. 1 First line of therapy has always been a topical agent; while in resistance of the topical agents next preferred treatment are the oral therapies of antifungal agents (Ketoconazole, Terbinafine, Fluconazole and Itraconazole). However complementary and alternative therapy has also shown the significant results in control of growth of these dermatophytes. Homoeopathy has always been a safe and cost effective treatment in cases of dermatophyte infections. 2 The present case report of a 31 years old Muslim female, Sepia officinalis 1M and Sulphur (30C and 200C) have shown marked improvement in the reduction of the lesion.

2019 was an unusual year in that a lot of time was dedicated to making the working database-management program multi-user based. 2018 we started with this, but the main work was done the year after i.e. in 2019. In the future multiple editors can work on the data in Complete Repertory.

Other than this much work has again been done homeopathically.

Dr. Rajesh Rajendran continued with his work of adding more contemporary material into the Complete Repertory. The emphasis was most on those material that have had a known toxicological effect on interaction accidentally  by  poisoning or through exposure and contamination.  Next to adding more material from some sources that were already semi-added he worked on the new material below. Retinoblastoma (RB) is a rapidly developing cancer that develops from the immature cells of a retina, the light-detecting tissue of the eye and is the most common malignant tumor of the eye in children.(1) There are very few known risk factors for retinoblastoma, but the main gene changes inside cells that can lead to retinoblastoma are now fairly well known. Early in fetal development, well before birth, cells in the retina of the eye divide to make new cells to fill the retina. At a certain point, these cells normally stop dividing and become mature retinal cells. But sometimes something goes wrong with this process. Instead of maturing, some retinal cells continue to grow out of control, which can lead to retinoblastoma. The article aims in describing the role of homeopathy in managing RB. The use of homeopathic remedies is raising in the modern area especially in chronic disease as well as DNA mutations like RB and is proved effective in clinical practice. Managing cases of RB in homeopathy is an art. However, more scientific research studies are needed to be done to validate the effectiveness, and explain the safety profile of homeopathic remedies for their anti-retinoblastoma potential. Sweet syndrome aka acute febrile neutrophilic dermatosis is one of the serious dermatological
condition which goes undiagnosed due to several reasons. Unawareness of this condition may be one of
the primary factors for missing the diagnosis which may lead to inaccurate treatment which may only
lead to worsening the condition in a sick individual. Very few studies have been published in this area,
hence the present investigator felt the need of reviewing few literatures and creating a material which
will aid in early and accurate diagnosis of the condition. About 20 literature was reviewed based on the
history, presentation, diagnosis and its probable homoeopathic treatment accordingly. All the
information required for accurate diagnosis and its homeopathic approach was compiled into the
present paper.

Background: A 60 years-old man presented with an 8-day history of acute onset painless left upper eyelid ptosis covering the pupil entirely. Ptosis can affect unilateral or bilateral. He had no other symptoms; importantly pupils were equal and reactive and eye movements were full. There was no palpable mass or swelling. He had a headache but had no other focal neurological signs or symptoms of fatigue. MRI of brain and Orbits showed no remarkable abnormality detected in brain & orbits. Objectives: Assessment of the homeopathic symptomatic aspects of Gelsemium sempervirens on eyelid ptosis. Showed homeopathy has a major role in the treatment of ptosis. Materials and Methods. The case management was conducted for 3 weeks and only two follow follow-ups were was taken according to the law of homeopathy. Result: Administrating Gelsemium sempervirens 30°C of 5/7 pills orally thrice a day for a week; left eyelid ptosis was improved 60%. The ptosis resolved quickly and the patient remains symptom-free 100% at 3 weeks follow-up by next high potency Gelsemium sempervirens 200C with the same pattern. Conclusion: Acute ptosis may indicate serious pathology. A careful history and examination must be taken. The appropriate management requires recognition of the underlying cause of it. This case presentation highlights the various aspects of ptosis evaluation and management by homeopathy for future study.

METHODS: Various old literatures and previous journals about treatment of diseases and its philosophical background in relevance to Homoeopathy is reviewed and thus why Arsenic Album is selected as immune booster against Covid 19 is explained as per various authors in this article.
CONCLUSION: Helps the Homoeopath as well as common man to know the clearly about the role of Homoeopathy in treating Covid 19 and also answers the question why Arsenic Album is selected out of so many other remedies.

Interventions considered to be branches of Complementary & Alternative Medicine (CAM) for autism are on the rise. Many new treatments have emerged & traditional beliefs of Ayurveda, Yoga, Behavioral therapy, Speech therapy and Homoeopathy have gained popularity and advocacy among parents. It is imperative that data supporting new treatments should be scrutinized for scientific study design, clinical safety, and scientific validity, before embarking on them as modes of therapy. Practitioners take care in explaining the rationale behind the various approaches that they practice, it is important to indicate possible limitations too during the initial clinical examination and interactive session. Clinicians must remember that parents may have different beliefs regarding the effectiveness of treatment since their information is derived more from the 'hear-say' route when they compare benefits/effects of CAM therapies on other children and often underestimate differential tolerance for treatment risks. It is thus significant that practitioners do not assume a "don't ask, don't tell" posture. The scientific validation and support for many interventions is incomplete and very different from the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics Policy Statement. In this article, we discuss the various modes of CAM and their utilities and limitations in relation to autism.

Hypo-pigmentation of skin, although is not a life threatening disease, but is considered to be a social stigma, so invariably associated with significant psychological trauma and social isolation[1]. Pityriasis Alba  is  one  of  the  cause  of  secondary  hypo-pigmentation.  Others  include Pityriasis  Versicolour, Idiopathic  Guttate  Hypomelanosis, Phenylketonuria  etc.  It  is  a  type  of  eczema  presenting  as depigmented  areas  on  the  face,  particularly  in  children,  with  or without  scale[2]. Even  though  it  is commonly encountered in dermatological practice, there is paucity of Indian studies on the subject.3 A case presented in this paper of 23 years old female suffering from Pityriasis Alba of 3 months duration. The lesion started with a reddish popular lesion on lateral aspect both the elbow joint. In 3-4 days, it started  converting  into  pale  patches.  An  individualized homoeopathic  medicine,  Ignatia  Amara  was prescribed followed by Bacillinum  which showed complete resolution of the disease. This case report suggests homoeopathic treatment as a promising complementary or alternative therapy in such type of skin lesion.

In this modern civilization, the society receives a good number of experiences along with many new diseases and defects, which can harm the entire society. Among these, one of the common diseases is Diabetes mellitus. But it should be clear in our mind that, it is not merely a pathological condition localized to the material body, rather it is the resultant of the extremely unscientific lifestyle of this time i.e. stress and mental anxiety, lack of physical exercise, irregular diet, extreme level of artificially harbored food products, irregular food habit, variety of addictions and lack of sound sleep. On the basis of our Homoeopathic concept of disease we know that, disease is not only a physical entity rather it is the dynamic deviation from the health, predisposed by “ the ascertainable physical constitution of the patient, his moral and intellectual character, his occupation, mode of living and habits, his social and domestic relations, his age, sexual functions, and etc”(ORGANON OF MEDICINE, 6th edition by Dr.C.F.S.Hahnemann) even our mode of thinking also plays an important role in the formation of the disease.

Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 was declared as Pandemic by WHO on 11th March 2020. The Indian Government’s Ministry of AYUSH, which promotes alternative medicine systems in the country, released a health advisory on January 29, 2020 that advised the use of a Homeopathic preparation called Arsenicum album 30C as Prophylaxis. Looking into the current scenario, the numbers of COVID-19 Positive cases are increasing day by day putting extra load on all the hospitals. In such situation Homoeopathy can play a major role in not only preventing the disease but also by treating it as an Adjuvant therapy for better prognosis of patients. Also, Homoeopathy when given in initial stages of this disease can prevent the patient to enter into complications.

The clinical study on WRULD of 30 cases was undertaken to explore the miasmatic background [Psora, Sycosis, Syphilis and combinations thereof] based on susceptibility, predisposition and totality of symptoms, to find the efficacy of homoeopathic remedies and to arrive at a group of remedies commonly indicated in WRULD.

Manifested by symptoms like depressed mood, anxiety, poor appetite, loss of concentration and insomnia, the exact mechanism of its development remains unknown. Conventional treatment with antidepressants and hormones carries the risk of having side-effects. Homeopathy provides a safe and gentle remedial means for the treatment of postpartum depression. Individualization in remedy selection can help us bring significant cures and help women in their journey of motherhood.

The global pandemic Covid-19 made the human life a stand still across the world. Various treatment modalities are being tested in patients including malarial drugs, antiviral drugs and plasma therapy. As Homoeopathy is a popular alternative therapeutic method, I have got many requests from countries like UAE,UK, Qatar and Saudi Arabia for treatment .Many parts of these countries are in community spread or in the verge of it. Mild to moderate cases in those countries are in isolation for a stipulate period. Some of those patients contacted me through telephone for treatment of Covid-19. A few of these requests dropped due to lack of provision for counter sale of medicines in countries like Saudi Arabia. The cases I have received were analysed and prescribed as per symptomatology. Most of these cases shown good results in terms of relieving symptoms as well as attaining negative antigen tests. Covid 19 primarily is a respiratory infection. Homoeopathy is a known treatment for respiratory infections especially of viral type since long period. From the clinical experience of treating a group of Covid 19 cases abroad, it is clear that Homoeopathy is the best symptomatic treatment for such type of viral infections. This work includes specific arrangement of various information regarding the subject, collected from various sources, clubbed with my clinical observations and the methods found useful in management of Covid- 19 cases. Homoeopathy is a new system of treatment in the whole evolution of medical history when compared to conventional methods. But this system has played a significant role in primary health care worldwide. Homoeopathy is a “home remedy” in many parts of the world and in India it is an organized sector with many institutions and treatment centres. Homoeopathy became popular by its effectiveness in viral infections especially of the respiratory tract. Homoeopathy also played a crucial role in prophylaxis and treatment of many communicable diseases like Cholera the past. Currently Homoeopathic prophylactic programs are being conducted in many parts of India. From the experience of advising treatments for non-resident Indians we may get in to the conclusion that Homoeopathy may be included extensively in treatment of Covid-19 case both independently and as an interdisciplinary method. The well-known medicine “Bryonia Alba” in homoeopathy is found to be a key remedy in many cases of Covid-19 by its profound action. Homoeopathy may not emerge as a single global solution for the pandemic like invention of new vaccine, but can provide individual well being of covid-19 patients, which will help to reduce the disease burden. Moreover, the system has an enormous infrastructure and man power in India which may turn in to a valuable treasure in combating with the pandemic

Objective: The objective was to assess the usefulness of homoeopathic genus epidemicus (Bryonia alba 30C) for the prevention of chikungunya during its epidemic outbreak in the state of Kerala, India. Materials and Methods: A cluster-randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial was conducted in Kerala for prevention of chikungunya during the epidemic outbreak in August-September 2007 in three panchayats of two districts. Bryonia alba 30C/placebo was randomly administered to 167 clusters (Bryonia alba 30C = 84 clusters; placebo = 83 clusters) out of which data of 158 clusters was analyzed (Bryonia alba 30C = 82 clusters; placebo = 76 clusters). Healthy participants (absence of fever and arthralgia) were eligible for the study (Bryonia alba 30 C n = 19750; placebo n = 18479). Weekly follow-up was done for 35 days. Infection rate in the study groups was analysed and compared by use of cluster analysis. Results: The findings showed that 2525 out of 19750 persons of Bryonia alba 30 C group suffered from chikungunya, compared to 2919 out of 18479 in placebo group. Cluster analysis showed significant difference between the two groups [rate ratio = 0.76 (95% CI 0.14-5.57), P value = 0.03]. The result reflects a 19.76% relative risk reduction by Bryonia alba 30C as compared to placebo. Conclusion: Bryonia alba 30C as genus epidemicus was better than placebo in decreasing the incidence of chikungunya in Kerala. The efficacy of genus epidemicus needs to be replicated in different epidemic settings.

A controlled clinical trial was conducted to assess the effectiveness of Oscillococcinum R in the trealment of patients with influenza-like: syndromes. 188 patients received the test drug and 184 patients were assigned to the placebo. Data were recorded by the participating physicians at the beginning of the;: treatment, after 48 hours and after 7-10 days. During the first few days. the patients recorded their rectal temper.:l.ture twice: a day (mornings and t::venings). t} symptoms on a rating scale (cough, catarrh, sore throat, muscle pain. t:tc.), and use of medication. Recovery was defined as follows: 'rectal tempernturc < 37.5°C and no headache or muscle pain', Etfectivene.')s was defined:1.., ... a statistically significant greater decrease in symptoms after 48 hours in the verum group or a shorter duration of symptoms in comparison to the placebo group. After 48 hours the symptoms of the patients in the yerum h'TOl1P were significantly milder (p == 0.023) than in the placebo group. The num ber of patients with no symptoms was signi~c:mtly higher in the verum group from the second day onwards (verum: 17.4%. placebo: 6.0%) until the end of the patients' recording (day 5 in the evening: verum: 73. 7%, placeho: 67.7%). The biggest group difference was recorded for the time between the evening of the second day (10.6% more patienrs with no symptoms) and the morning of the fourth day (W.2% more patients with no symptoms). The clinica.l trial showed that treatment ur influenza-like syndromes with Oscillococcinwn R has ;]. positive effect on the decline of symptOms and on the duration of the disease.

Use of alcohol, tobacco and drugs is referred to as 'substance use'. There are wide variations in extent and prevalence of use across different states and between various substances. In adult populations around the world, alcohol, tobacco and cannabis are the most commonly used psychoactive substances. They are associated with a wide range of negative health consequences. Chewing betel nuts with leaves of betel plant and lime paste and smoking tobacco constitute the two most common traditional forms of substance use in almost all NE states of India. Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) like ischemic heart diseases, cancers, diabetes, chronic respiratory diseases are the leading causes of death globally and associated with tobacco use. This narrative review presents an overview of the magnitude of tobacco use, its health consequences and role Homoeopathy can play in addressing disorders related to tobacco use to help people to avoid or delay its addiction and to avert the development of the withdrawal symptoms in case of quitting.

COVID-19 pandemic has affected the entire world and the maximum affected are the people from medical fraternity. Even after taking the best possible measures these frontline workers are at high risk of suffering with the disease. This article hereby presents the add on homoeopathic management of a case of COVID 19 frontline worker. It describes how homoeopathic medicines can effectively manage the sequel of the disease. The case is evaluated using Modified Naranjo criteria.
