In broad terms, current thinking and literature on the spread of innovations in health care presents it as the study of two unconnected processes - diffusion across adopting organizations and implementation within adopting organizations. Evidence from the health care environment and beyond, however, shows the significance and systemic nature of postadoption challenges in sustainably implementing innovations at scale. There is often only partial diffusion of innovative practices, initial adoption that is followed by abandonment, incomplete or tokenistic implementation, and localized innovation modifications that do not provide feedback to inform global innovation designs. Critical Theoretical Analysis: Such important barriers to realizing the benefits of innovation question the validity of treating diffusion and implementation as unconnected spheres of activity. We argue that theorizing the spread of innovations should be refocused toward what we call embedding innovation-the question of how innovations are successfully implemented at scale. This involves making the experience of implementation a central concern for the system-level spread of innovations rather than a localized concern of adopting organizations. Insight/Advance: To contribute to this shift in theoretical focus, we outline three mechanisms that connect the experience of implementing innovations locally to their diffusion globally within a health care system: learning, adapting, and institutionalizing. These mechanisms support the distribution of the embedding work for innovation across time and space. Practical Implications: Applying this focus enables us to identify the self-limiting tensions within existing top-down and bottom-up approaches to spreading innovation. Furthermore, we outline new approaches to spreading innovation, which better exploit these embedding mechanisms.

Introduction: A medical equipment inventory system is a centralized index of all medical equipment in a health
care system. This medical equipment inventory system is composed of a unique identifier for each equipment
category that link to its locational data and clinical uses in relevant institution. A medical equipment inventory
system is essential to ensure the availability of functional and useful equipment identification for the ministry of
health. This project focused on developing medical equipment inventory system for General Hospital Kalutara
with the view to implementing and scaling up at national level.
Objectives:
General Objective: Develop web base medical equipment inventory module.
Specific Objectives: Identify the key requirement of medical inventory system.
Develop a searching criteria and unique medical equipment category identifier for medical
equipment for a health care institute.
Develop web base programme using Php and MySql.
Methods: This project consisted of 3 phases. Phase 1: requirement analysis using focus group discussions (FGD)
with medical equipment inventory handler’s and medical administrators. Phase 2: identification of the suitable
web-based dashboard for the user. Phase 3: development of the medical equipment inventory system.
Results: FGD were conducted in 3 healthcare institutes. There were 31 interviewers (Male -6, and female - 25).
They highlighted the key requirements for the medical equipment inventory system. Which were the different
searching criteria of medical equipment and how to categorize them. Using this information, the requirements
specification for medical equipment inventory system was developed. Using web-based programming
language(Php) and database language(Mysql) is used for the development. As searching criteria, the unique
medical equipment category identifier and health institution number(HIN) were used. This medical equipment
inventory system prototype is developed and piloted in General hospital Kalutara.
Conclusions: Development and implementation of medical equipment inventory system has facilitated the long
due need for medical equipment inventory information of health institutions in Sri Lanka.

Information and communication technologies (ICTs) play a key role in the Internet area and have substantially transformed many domains. Although there is a broad consensus that eHealth plays a key role in modern healthcare delivery, the domain of health care is considerably lagging behind in terms of adoption of modern ICT tools and infrastructure.

This paper mainly focuses on the prospects and problems of privatization of healthcare sector in India. Indian healthcare industry is at growing stage and is thereby not subjected to strict regulations by the government. There are very low levels of government funding for health care in India, with less than 4-5% of total government resources being allocated. Nearly 80 percent of the expenditure on healthcare is funded by the private individuals or institutions from their own pockets and the rest is funded by the government. There is a need to understand how the healthcare is performing in India. The government has put only a little stress on the importance of healthcare system and its requirements in India. Further the study emphasis on the vast scope for growth and development of healthcare sector in the future.

The communication, interoperability and analysis of Electronic Health Records (EHRs) is of growing global importance as the functionality and use of EHR systems increases. Longitudinal EHRs can improve the quality and safety of care to individuals, provide the knowledge needed to improve the efficiency of healthcare services and population health programmes, and accelerate clinical research.

Epidemic diseases patients need constant monitoring of their health, whether in the hospital or at home, and this requires great costs. The employment of information and communication technologies and artificial intelligence concepts helps reduce these costs. This paper introduces a real-time monitoring system for monitoring pneumonia patients that will allow doctors to monitor the health of their patients remotely through smartphones or internetconnected devices. To verify the proper functioning of this system, a real-time monitoring device was developed. A secure mechanism is designed to establish a wireless connection to the monitoring unit.

Background: Changing population demographics and technology developments have resulted in growing interest in the potential of consumer-facing digital health. In the United Kingdom, a £37 million (US $49 million) national digital health program delivering assisted living lifestyles at scale (dallas) aimed to deploy such technologies at scale. However, little is known about how consumers value such digital health opportunities.
