SGK1 is critically important for mineralocorticoid/salt-induced glomerular injury. SGK1 inactivates GSK3, which downregulates Snail, a DNA-binding molecule repressing the transcription of nephrin, a protein critically important for the integrity of the glomerular slit membrane. PKB/SGK-dependent GSK regulation is disrupted in mice carrying a mutation, in which the serine in the SGK/PKB-phosphorylation consensus sequence is replaced by alanine. The present study explored whether PKB/SGK-dependent GSK3 regulation influences glomerular proteinuria. Objective: The present work was aimed to study the effect of the ternary component on complexation efficiency of cyclodextrins towards telmisartan which is a poorly soluble anti-hypertensive agent. Methods: The elucidation of inclusion complexation of telmisartan (TEL) with hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin (HP-β-CD) in the presence and absence of tween 80 was done by investigating their interactions in solid and solution state. The solid state characterization was performed using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), powder X-ray diffraction studies (PXRD) fourier transform infra-red spectroscopy (FTIR) studies. The host guest stoichiometry was confirmed in solution state by proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1 HNMR) and solution calorimetry studies. The improvement in solubility was evaluated through dissolution studies, which was further confirmed by in vivo studies. Results: In solution state, the phase solubility studies indicated 1:1 stoichiometry between TEL and HP-β-CD both in presence and absence of tween 80. The NMR and molecular modelling studies indicated the insertion of N-methyl benzimidazole and biphenyl carboxylate regions of TEL into HP-β-CD cavity suggesting the coexistence of two 1:1 complexes in equilibrium with each other. The stability constants, K1 (imidazole region of TEL-CD) and K2 (biphenyl acetic acid region of TEL-CD), were enhanced in the presence of tween 80 as evident by the higher value of stability constants. Efficacy of ternary complex was established by a significant decrease in the systolic blood pressure of deoxycorticosterone acetate (DOCA) induced hypertensive rats. Conclusion: It can be concluded that solubility of TEL was increased by encapsulation with HP-β-CD. Tween 80 further increased the complexation efficiency and decreased the bulk of cyclodextrin.

Some studies that aim to analyze the political substance in the shows differentiate between the framing of politics as an issue and the framing of politics as a strategic game (e.g., Brewer & Marquart, 2007; Fox et al., 2007). This paper examines several aspects of the attempt at rehabilitating Aleppo and the data available about the city prior to the start of the Syrian conflict in 2011. It discusses documentation, rehabilitation and conservation practices in Aleppo, focusing on the operations between 1994 and 2011 that were coordinated by several institutions managed primarily by the Directorate of the Old City of Aleppo (DOCA) and the Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammen­arbeit (GTZ). The analysis considers not only the old city, which is inscribed on the World Heritage List, but also other historic and culturally significant areas in Aleppo. This research primarily uses notes from other scholarly resources, statements by various relevant experts, and the reports and documents produced by the DOCA, the GTZ, and UNESCO to argue that some of the practices during that period were in part responsible for overlooking important aspects and places of the city’s built heritage. During the last decade, synthesizing silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) by Liquid Phase-Pulsed Laser Ablation (LP-PLA) has attracted a lot of attention. Basically, this technique allows producing various metallic nanoparticles with controlled size, shape, composition or surroundings in several liquids (i.e.: water, ethanol, acetone, toluene,…). Recently, such processes have been studied in liquid organic monomer such as methyl methacrylate (MMA). However, the influence of the laser parameters on the materials synthesised in such reactive liquid and their features were not fully investigated so far. Here we investigate the LP-PLA of silver in two different but rather similar acrylate monomers: dodecylacrylate (DOCA) and 1H,1H,2H,2H perfluorodecylacrylate (PFDA). The influence of the fluence and the number of pulses on the production, size and morphology of the materials has been examined. First, a factorial design experiments have been achieved in order to determine the weight of the laser parameters in each precursor. This study shows two highly different behaviours in function of the monomer where the process took place. This has been explained by the plasma plume confinement and/or the "inter-pulses" self-absorption of the particles by the laser beam. The formation of graphite around the synthesized AgNPs has been highlighted by Raman spectroscopy at low number of pulses. Nevertheless, increasing the number of pulses could lead to three phenomenon depending on the fluence and the used monomer: degradation of the matrix, conservation of the matrix with changes in AgNPs size and distribution or sustainment of the matrix with any changes in the particles properties. So the surrounding, the size and stability could be triggered by adjusting these parameters. This paper does highlight that LP-PLA is a powerful technique to provide AgNPs in acrylate monomer with a good control of their features.

Arriba los que luchan está organizada en torno a la figura de Jorge Ricardo Masetti. Es insólito pensar que el tiempo que llevo la reconstrucción de la existencia de Masetti  y el que llevara exhibirla no es mucho menos que el período particularmente intenso (1954-1964) que narramos de sus días.  El documental no fue aún “estrenado comercialmente”, una meca hacia la cual caminamos también pero sin apuro.
