Fino a un passato non troppo remoto, affrontare argomenti “scomodi” come la morte ed il lutto era più facile, grazie ad una condivisione sociale e ad una comunicazione più genuina. Attualmente, i ritmi e l'atteggiamento culturale della società in cui viviamo ci impediscono di riflettere e migliorare il nostri rapporti interpersonali, soprattutto con le persone che invecchiano e che si avvicinano alla morte. Questo studio evidenzia la necessità di riflettere su questo tema, anche in ambienti considerati da molti non adeguati, come le Residenze Sanitarie per Anziani

Il contributo si propone di esaminare le complessità legate al rapporto tra clausura femminile e archivi attraverso il caso del monastero cappuccino della Sacra Famiglia di Palermo. La limitata accessibilità al complesso documentario prodotto dall’ente ha, di fatto, scoraggiato approfonditi studi sulle sue vicende. Attraverso il resoconto della ricognizione archivistica e bibliografica con-dotta, il presente saggio presenta alcuni punti chiave studiabili grazie alle fonti al presente dispo-nibili: i momenti fondativi (XVIII sec.), il cammino verso la clausura, la resistenza all’eversione dell’asse ecclesiastico, il patrimonio artistico e, infine, le catacombe di sole donne. This article examines the complex relationship between female monastic enclosure and ar-chives, focusing on the Capuchin monastery of the Holy Family in Palermo. Limited access to the institution’s documentary collection has largely discouraged in-depth studies of its history. Based on an archival and bibliographic survey, the paper highlights key aspects that can now be studied using the available sources: the monastery’s founding in the 18th century, its transition to enclosure, resistance to the suppression and secularization of ecclesiastical assets, its artistic heritage, and the unique presence of all-female catacombs.

This paper suggests that a significant proportion of questions in a doctoral viva can be predicted. Our evidence is based on 25 doctoral vivas where questions asked by examiners were collected and textually analyzed, identifying clusters of themes across vivas. Critical generic questions were drawn from each cluster of themes representing a template of questions as stepping stones against which prospective researchers can use to write, or defend, a doctoral thesis. Propositions are offered that reflect the consequences of candidates being able to predict questions in a doctoral viva.
