In the present scenario of world, the engineers having the challenges to find the different ways drive efficient by using the alternative energy sources which are the eco-friendly to environment. The compressed air is used as a source for various operations in the industry and also having the ennivormental friendly. So, the engineers are focused on the compressed air as non-polluting fuel for the vehicles which is termed as pneumatic cars. This paper describes the brief introduction to latest development of pneumatic cars, the efficiency and properties of the compressed air with respect to enthalpy, internal energy, density of the compressed air. The working of the pneumatic car, with the use of the pneumatic actuators that creates useful work by expanding the compressed air, electronic component with simple mechanism. Hence, the pneumatic cars are affordable, safe and future of the automobile industry.
The pneumatically operated vehicle is used to save the non-renewable sources of energy and stop the environmental pollution, which is harmful for human beings. Now a days battery operated vehicles used in all manufacturing industries has disadvantages like high weight, takes more time to charge the battery, critical connection of switches and relays. It requires more maintenance. These problems are solves in pneumatically operated vehicle which has low weight, easy circuits, takes less time for refuelling and requires less maintenance. The Compressed Air Powered Vehicle works on the principle of the compressed Air Technology (CAT). This energy can be utilized for useful purposes. Present scenario of the world describes, the crisis of fuel and pollution problem, along with it, conventional sources are about to deplete in near years. So, the search on alternative fuels is on progress and in demand too. Today there are several solutions to meet demand for better economy in fuel and one of them is the concept of pneumatic-hybrids. The project focuses on a hybrid-vehicle driven by air as alternate source to fuel and a battery driven too, to reduce the dependency on conventional sources. In this, compressed air is stored in storage tank/ compressor& pneumatic motor is used for conversion of pressure to mechanical energy. This pneumatic-hybrid vehicle is not only eco-friendly, pollution free but also very economical. An Experimental Analysis to develop a Hybrid Pneumatic Vehicle that works on compressed air. The vehicle is powered by a compressed-air engine and can be later switched to batteries. The vehicle uses a non-renewable and pollution free fuel. A Pneumatic Vehicle is a pneumatic actuator that creates useful work by expanding compressed air. When this compressed air expands, the energy is released to do work. So this energy in compressed air can also be utilized to displace a piston.

It is hard to believe that compressed air can be used to drive vehicles. However that is true, and the "compressed air operated car", as it is popularly known, has caught the attention of researchers worldwide. It has zero emissions and is ideal for city driving conditions. MDI is one company that holds the international patents for the compressed air operated car. Although it seems to be an environmentally-friendly solution, one must consider its well to wheel efficiency. The electricity requirement for compressing air has to be considered while computing overall efficiency. Nevertheless, the compressed air vehicle will contribute to reducing urban air pollution in the long run.

Urgency of the research. The issue of a pneumatic car-air car developing is very important nowadays, as the environment is threatened by a variety of emissions from cars. The decision has to be made. There are various alternatives to internal combustion engines, and one of them is compressed air engines. Target setting. The main goal is to develop a car that runs on compressed air and create a frame that matches the dimensions specified for the competition. Actual scientific researches and issues analysis. In recent years, Aventics has organized competitions and races on pneumatic vehicles. These races have been running by Emerson for thirteen years. The pneumatic cars had to take part in all categories of competitions. We have been dealing with this issue in Slovakia for the third year, and this pneumatic car is our third model. Uninvestigated parts of general matters defining. This article describes a car that runs on compressed air, as well as describes in more detail the frame used and its design features. The research objective. The purpose of this study is to analyze the pneumatic vehicle, its parts and to give a detailed description of the manufactured frame and its properties. The corresponding frame was made on the basis of the conditions determined by Emerson's competitions. The statement of basic materials. The analysis was conducted on the basis of the terms of the competition. These conditions are determined by the maximum and minimum dimensions of the car. Based on these conditions, a frame was developed, it was previously analyzed by FEA-MKP. The description of the frame is given below. Conclusions. This article describes the design of a pneumatic car for competitions. The competition focus is cars powered by compressed air. The pneumatic cars were developed by bachelors and technical school. The design of this car has passed the initial inspection and has been approved by the organizers of the competition.

This paper work deals with the Compressed-air vehicle as a pneumatic actuator that converts one form of energy into another. The Air Driven Vehicle is an eco-friendly vehicle which operates with compressed air. This Vehicle uses the expansion of compressed air to drive the pistons of the vehicle. An Air Driven Vehicle is a pneumatic actuator that creates useful work by expanding compressed air. There is no mixing of fuel with air as there is no combustion. An Air Driven Vehicle makes use of Compressed Air Technology for its operation The Compressed Air Technology is quite simple. If we compress normal air into a cylinder the air would hold some energy within it. This energy can be utilized for useful purposes. When this compressed air expands, the energy is released to do work. So this energy in compressed air can also be utilized to displace a piston. Compressed air propulsion may also be incorporated in hybrid systems, e.g., battery electric propulsion and fuel tanks to recharge the batteries. This kind of system is called hybrid-pneumatic electric propulsion. Additionally, regenerative braking can also be used in conjunction with this system.

Compressed air as a source of energy in different uses in general and as a non-polluting fuel in compressed air vehicles has attracted scientists and engineers for centuries. Efforts are being made by many developers and manufacturers to master the compressed air vehicle technology in all respects for its earliest use by the mankind. Nowadays, almost every industry is trying to develop light and efficient vehicles. Today, all the the vehicles running on conventional & non-conventional fuels are known for producing a large amount of harmful gases like CO 2 , SO 2 , NO 2 , etc. which acts increases global warming. The motto of our project is to design & fabricate vehicle running on air pressure for material handling in industries and reduce power consumption. It is rear wheel drive. We develop the concept of pneumatic vehicle from pedal operated tricycle. The vehicle looks like three wheeler in which manual operation is replaced by compressed air pressure. The following report gives a brief description of how a compressed air vehicle using this technology was made. While developing of this vehicle, control of compressed air parameters like temperature, energy density, requirement of input power, energy release and emission control have to be mastered for the development of a safe, light and cost effective compressed air vehicle in near future.

The environmental pollution in the metropolitan cities is increasing rapidly mostly because of the increased number of fossil fuel powered vehicles. Many alternative options are now being studied throughout the world. One of the alternative solutions can be a compressed air powered vehicle. Main advantage of this engine is that no hydrocarbon fuel is required which means no combustion process is taking place. In this project, an SI engine is converted into a compressed air engine. A four stroke single cylinder SI engine is converted to two stroke engine which operates using compressed air because of its design simplicity. As we converted the already existing conventional engine into an air powered one, this new technology is easy to adapt. Another benefit is that it uses air as fuel which is available abundantly in atmosphere.

This research aims to examine the performance of a car which takes air as the working medium. Air car is a car currently being developed which is still in the R&D stage all over the world. Review on the availability and the impact of the fossil fuels in the present and future generations led us to design a vehicle which runs by renewable energy sources. As the world is hard pressed with the energy and fuel crisis, compounded by pollution of all kinds, any technology that brings out the solution to this problem is considered as a bounty. In one of such new technologies, is the development of a new vehicle called as “Compressed Air Car”, which does not require any of the known fuels like petrol, diesel, CNG, LPG, hydrogen etc., this works on compressed air. This replaces all types of till date known fuels and also permanently solves the problem of pollution, since its exhaust is clean and cool air. Though some of the renewable energy sources like solar energy, bio fuels are currently in practice, we focused on pneumatic technology. Since pneumatic applications are wide all over the world, basic components and other equipment are easily available and the fabrication is not so tough. The basic principle involved in this concept is that compressed air is capable enough to provide sufficient thrust which in turn can propel the car. This report is a detailed description of the fabrication, working and testing of the compressed air car.
