Plastic waste which is increasing day by day becomes eyesore and in turn pollutes the environment, especially in high mountain villages where no garbage collection system exists. A large amount of plastic is being brought into the tourist trekking regions are discarded or burned which leads to the contamination of environment and air. Hence, these waste plastics are to be effectively utilized. Low-density polyethylene bags are cleaned and added with sand at particular percentages to obtain high strength bricks that possess thermal and sound insulation properties to control pollution and to reduce the overall cost of construction; this is one of the best ways to avoid the accumulation of plastic waste which is an on-degradable pollutant. This alternatively saves the quantity of sand/clay that has to be taken away from the precious river beds/mines. The plastic waste is naturally available in surplus quantity and hence the cost factor comes down. Also coloring agents can be added to the mixture to attain desired shades. Hence in this thesis, an attempt is made to study regard the properties of the brick which is manufactured using plastic wastes. The present work deals with the manufacturing and analysis of bricks made with waste plastic (LDPE) and fine aggregates. The bricks produced are light weight, have smooth surface and fine edges, do not have cracks and have high crushing strength and very low water absorption. The bricks are manufactured by heating waste plastic to temperature range of 120 to 150 degree centigrade and mixing sand to the molten plastic. I.

Plastic is very hazardous in today's world. This is the most dangerous problem that humanity faces nowadays. When it burned it releases toxic gases like furans, dioxins, and mercury. The plastic, which is lower than 75 m, causes serious issues for human beings as well as the ecosystem. This experiment was performed on the manufacturing of bricks using plastic waste. The brick is manufactured by the process of melting it with river sand at 110°-130°C. In this experiment, we have used different types of sand to plastic ratios. The different types of plastic percentages we used in this experiment were 30%, 35%, 40%, 45%, and 50%, respectively, with the river sand. The tests that were performed on these bricks were compression tests, absorption tests, and other tests that were performed on normal bricks. These bricks are light in weight and economical in budget as we are using plastic waste.

Nowadays due to development and urbanization, plastic becomes a part of our daily life. The only flaw is it is non-biodegradable and it takes thousands of years to breakdown or to decompose. This study elaborates the work done by the writer to use plastic as a construction material to replace the clay brick as well as to find a way to effectively utilize the waste plastic. Plastic waste has recyclable characteristics that may be used to recycle it and create a new product that has lesser environmental effect. One way to recycle plastic trash is to make plastic bricks by combining plastic with sand at a particular temperature and using them to replace regular clay bricks. Various authors conducted a comparison study with masonry bricks made of other materials using various testing methods such as scratch testing, water absorption test, porosity testing, soundness testing, scratch testing, efflorescence testing, and concluded that more research in this field could improve the durabili...

Plastics are key resources in circular economy and recycling after the end of useful life with economic value creation and minimal damage to environment is the key to their sustainable management. The project elucidates about the use of plastic in civil construction. The component used include everything from plastic screws and hanger to bigger plastic parts that are used in decoration, electric wiring, flooring, wall covering and waterproofing. There has been a considerable imbalance between the availability of conventional building materials and their demand in the recent past. On the other hand the laterite quarry waste is abundantly available and the disposal of waste plastics (PET, PP,etc.)is a biggest challenge, as repeated recycling of PET bottles pose a potential danger of being transformed to a carcinogenic material and only a small proportion of PET bottles are being recycled. The bricks manufactured possess the properties such as neat and even finishing, with negligible wat...

Plastic pollution can affect unfavorably water ways and oceans and lands. The composition of plastic is of major harmful and toxic pollutants. Potentially it may be very harmful to environment like air, water and land pollutions. It has been reported that each year 20 million tons of plastic end up in the ocean and other water bodies. 2-2.5 trillion plastic particles which is weighing about 270,000 tons are currently floating in the world water bodies. Moisture which penetrates to the building by its wall, roofs and floors from ground water table or by other sources like rain, sanitary leakages etc is called dampness. Only the building its self is not get effected by the dampness but it is also harmful for its inhabitants. It is therefore necessary to make the building damp proof and it can be made by using proper damp proof materials. Dampness can cause corrosion of metals, dry root to the wooden portion, paints to get blistered, peeling off or removal of plaster, floor up the buildings too remains ugly. To overcome the pollution, the waste plastic bottles should be utilized and to reduce dampness. Plastic clay brick should be manufactured. For this purpose, we manufactured plastic clay brick which fulfils the requirements we used melted plastic bottles with clay. The percentage of plastic was changed in different trials. We achieved the desired strength on 30% plastic and 70% clay. All tests were performed according to IS standard. The results obtained show high strength and less absorption.

The rapid increase in plastic and demolition wastes technology through municipal and commercial industries becomes large issue to advanced and growing countries. The replacement of conventional construction materials with reused materials is a feasible arrangement which mitigates landfilling concerns and decreases the requirement for virgin quarry materials. In these studies, an assessment of Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic waste and its blends, with demolition waste dust had been undertaken. The waste PET bottle is first shredded and soften in the container after which the demolition waste dust is different proportions. The experiments had been accomplished are compressive strength, water absorption and dimension tolerance check. The proportion of waste PET bottles is to be used are 20%, 30%, 40%, 50% by weight. The 30% waste PET bottles+ 70% demolition waste dust have higher compressive strength from the different mix samples. Water absorption is decreases with increases the percentage of PET bottle content in demolition waste dust.

Plastic waste is a non-biodegradable waste which takes thousands years to decompose and it becomes a global concern. If we throw plastic waste on the ground it causes soil pollution when its burn it causes air pollution and when we threw in the water bodies it causes water pollution, which effects the aquatic plants and animals. The percentage of the plastic waste is increasing rapidly. And the recycle of plastic waste percentage is so less, which in return it causes a major impact to the global warming. As a Civil Engineer we have to innovate something new which will not cause much harmful to our environment. So here we try to do something innovative a plastic bricks. It is most economical solution present in the construction industry and it also environment friendly solution of plastic waste. We observe that a characteristic of plastic bricks is far much better than normal bricks.

The plastic waste is the hazardous problem in today's world. This is most dangerous problem in front of humanity. The most hazardous type of wastes are HDPE and PTE and the plastic below 50micron is also causing a serious problem. These plastic mixed in the soil, it directly effects on fertility of the soil. Nowadays, the large amount of plastic is deposited into sea. This plastic wastes gives hazardous effect on the aquatic life and quality of seawater also polluted by this plastic. So, we try to finding efficient way to solve this problem of plastic waste. So, we added this plastic wastes into the bricks and create the bricks by using plastic wastes. It is most economical solution present in the construction industry and it is also economical and environment friendly solution of the plastic wastes.

Plastic brick is the form of brick manufactured from the combination of non-recyclable waste plastic with other constituents (sand, aggregate, cement, water, stone dust, fly ash, etc.) This study aimed to examine the research findings on transforming waste plastic into bricks that might be used to replace traditional bricks. Different journal articles were reviewed entitled the transformation of waste plastic into bricks to replace traditional clay bricks. Different open-access journal articles were searched to fit the topic of this study. The results indicate that the concrete blocks made with plastic bottles have 57% higher compressive strength and which was cited seventy-nine times by the other researchers (n = 79) "Use of recycled plastic water bottles in concrete blocks". The results further show that the compressive strength and other properties can be increased significantly when plastic is used as a binder with sand. But when it is used as filler, it produces competitive strength as ordinary bricks and can be used without any restrictions or hesitation. The main reflection of this review is to conduct primary research on a large scale to find an innovative model to transform waste plastic into environmentally friendly bricks. The implication of this study would be beneficial to students, future researchers, the Engineering Department of Oxford College of Engineering and Management, Gaindakot 2 in Nawalparasi district and young academicians.
Plastic is one of the most widely used material in the modern world because of its lightweight and durability. it is replacing other materials. Plastic is a non-biodegradable substance which creates land as well as water pollution to the environment. The quantity of plastic waste is expanding rapidly which is great threat for the environment. In this research work an attempt has made to utilize HDPE waste plastic in manufacturing plastic sand bricks by using 600µm and 4.75mm sand respectively. The plastic sand bricks have been carefully studied and compared with locally available conventional clay bricks. The compressive strength was found more for the plastic sand bricks for proportion of 1:4 and with 4.75mm sand. Plastic sand Bricks also gave good results in Impact test, Soundness test and Hardness test. Plastic sand bricks can be a good alternative to locally available conventional clay bricks to reduce the consumption of natural resources such as clay and for efficient and effective utilization of waste plastic for a healthy environment.
