At the beginning of the Renaissance Lithuanians understood that to join the civilization of Western Europe, it was necessary to have an appropriate (it means: very long) tradition. Like other countries, they had to create their own myth of origin. The most prestigious tradition was Greek-Roman antiquity, so the country's origin story was invented, claiming its people descended directly from Rome. According to subsequent chronicles, the founder of the new state was Palemon (Publius Libon, initially Vilia). Using the theory of cultural memory of Jan and Aleida Assmann, the article presents how and why the Lithuanian myth of origin was transformed from 15th to the end of the 18th century. Particular attention was paid to the current needs of the state and the powerful noble families of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, which also found their origins in the state myth. During the early modern period, the changes in the story were made (including the date of Palemon's arrival in the Lithuanian lands). Nonetheless, the myth was not questioned for a long time. Even once it had already been established that it was no more than a fairy tale, the story was revived again, performing other functions in the 19th century.

Dalam kriptografi, Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) merupakan standar enkripsi dengan kunci-simetris yang diadopsi oleh pemerintah Amerika Serikat. Standar ini terdiri atas 3 blok cipher, yaitu AES-128, AES-192 and AES-256. Masing-masing cipher memiliki ukuran 128-bit, dengan ukuran kunci masing-masing 128, 192, dan 256 bit. AES telah dianalisis secara luas dan sekarang digunakan di seluruh dunia, seperti halnya dengan pendahulunya, Data Encryption Standard (DES). National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), sebagai agensi Departemen Perdagangan AS mengusulkan kepada Pemerintah Federal AS untuk sebuah standard kriptografi kriptografi yang baru. NIST mengadakan sayembara terbuka untuk membuat standard algoritma kriptografi yang baru sebagai pengganti DES.

This article finds its inspiration in the new interpretations of Gadamer’s hermeneutics, which underline the turn in his later period, and which focus on the conception of aesthetic experience as an experience of transcendence. The main thesis is that the understanding of artworks, as Gadamer describes them in contrast to the Kantian subjectification of aesthetics, can be paralleled with the way Orthodox biblical theology struggles to approach Holy Scripture in the context of Church and Tradition. The aim of this article is to bring new material to the growing reception of Gadamer among Orthodox scholars, and to initiate further discussion on the topic by showing the parallels and areas where this reception could continue.

Resumen: En su ensayo de 1784, "Acerca de la pregunta: ¿Qué significa ilustrar?", Moses Mendelssohn utiliza el término "felicidad nacional" (Nationalglükseligkeit) con un claro sentido negativo. Sin embargo, durante el propio curso de la obra reflexiva de Mendelssohn, la noción de felicidad juega un rol positivo y es bien ponderada en consonancia con muchas otras perspectivas filosóficas de la Ilustración. Este ensayo pretende acercar algunas ideas acerca de los matices que adquiere la idea de felicidad en la obra de Mendelssohn.

Recent neuroimaging studies state that meditation increases regional cerebral blood flow (rCBF) in the prefrontal cortex (PFC). The present study employed functional near infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) to evaluate the relative hemodynamic changes in PFC during a cognitive task. Twenty-two healthy male volunteers with ages between 18 and 30 years (group mean age ± SD; 22.9 ± 4.6 years) performed a color-word stroop task before and after 20 min of meditation and random thinking. Repeated measures ANOVA was performed followed by a post hoc analysis with Bonferroni adjustment for multiple comparisons between the mean values of "During" and "Post" with "Pre" state. During meditation there was an increased in oxy-hemoglobin ( HbO) and total hemoglobin ( THC) concentration with reduced deoxy-hemoglobin ( HbR) concentration over the right prefrontal cortex (rPFC), whereas in random thinking there was increased HbR with reduced total hemoglobin concentration on the rPFC. The mean reaction time (RT) was shorter during stroop color word task with concomitant reduction in THC after meditation, suggestive of improved performance and efficiency in task related to attention. Our findings demonstrated that meditation increased cerebral oxygenation and enhanced performance, which was associated with activation of the PFC.
