Amilcar Baiardi
Degree in agronomy from the Federal University of Bahia, postgraduate degree in Agrarian Reform and Rural Development from IICA-CIRA of the OAS, academic master's degree in Development, Agriculture and Society from the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro, doctorate in Human Sciences from the State University of Campinas, with a postdoctoral degree in the area of history of science and technology policy at IMSS, Firenze, Italy in 1994. He is currently a professor at the Catholic University of Salvador, joined as a full professor at the Federal University of Bahia and retired from the Federal University of the Recôncavo da Bahia. He is also a permanent professor in the postgraduate program in Teaching, Philosophy and History of Science, at the Federal University of Bahia and at the State University of Feira de Santana. He is or has been a member of various boards and boards of scientific societies. He was a CNPq Research Productivity Fellow from 1987 to 2013 and from 2004 to 2010 as researcher 1. He is a member of the evaluation advisory committee of stricto sensu graduate studies at CAPES, advisor professor at the Universitat de Barcelona and the Università di Bologna. He has been visiting professor at the University of Bologna in Italy, the University of Aarhus in Denmark and lecturer at the University of Palackeho, Omoluc, in the Czech Republic. Academic production in the various modalities (articles in periodicals, books, book chapters, complete works in events and other academic publications) exceeds 560 publications and 62 master's and doctoral courses. In 1997 he won the Jaboti Prize for best book in the field of science and technology. He is a founding member of the Bahia Academy of Sciences and a member of the Brazilian Academy of Agronomic Science. In the major areas of Applied Social Sciences and Human Sciences, its research and teaching axis is Science and Technology, in the political, historical, social, economic dimensions and the role of S & T in local and rural development.
