With the advent of the modern nation-state, the scientific discourse of the gentry took the place of the religious
discourse, and science became the main source of legitimacy of secular government. In this process of
secularization and rationalization, society gets rid of the supernatural by dividing God from the human. But in
this process, it does not also lose the object of worship; it only exchanges it for something, which seems more
tangible. Therefore it begins to worship the Human, not the human in his actuality, but the idea of the Human, an
ideal, from which the human and citizen rights are also derived. And this is why the object of state worship is
actually the state itself, which positions the human as the idea of a free citizen, which is the reason for the
existence of the modern state.
