Happy cards at Moving along with the times!

Good Morning all
(Well it's morning where I am!)  I'm on my hollies in Florida and this is the one and only card I managed to make before we came away.   With all the good intentions in the world it just didn't happen as things just got so busy with so much to do before I left that my crafting had to take a back seat - after much stressing about it in the end I had to let it go because after all crafting's fun and life is life and sometimes fun just has to wait!!

Anyway.... its my turn to host this week at MAWTT  and I chose the theme

Make a card with the word "Happy" on it

As you can see I've got a "Happy Mothers Day" card to share - I decided it fit the challenge perfectly and so I kept it especially for this challenge - even though Mothers Day is long gone (in the UK - maybe I'll catch some US challenges because its in May here!!)

I used a lovely LOTV stamp called foxgloves available here - one that I haven't had for very long but it is one of my favourites - I just love the way the flowers fall on this card and its so lovely to colour.  I made it for my own mother - very clean and simple and I really liked how it turned out
This is what I did ....

Stamp - Foxgloves by LOTV
Paper - LOTV Antibellum pad
Sentiment - Stamping all day
Ribbon - Crafty Ribbons
Card and pearls from my stash

I'll be trying to fit in some visiting to you all soon - so get the kettle on

Challenges I'm entering with this card

Addicted to stamps - happy
Add a little dazzle - mothers day of anything goes
Crafting with dragon flies - mothers day / for a special lady
Creative moments - girly
Whimsy Inspiration - anything goes

Use your favourite colour combo at Pennys Papercrafty Challenge

Good morning all

(I'll be back later this morning with my DT card for the Paper Shelter)

Its time for another challenge at

 Penny's Paper Crafty Challenges

This week we have an easy peasy challenge for you

Use your favourite Colour combo

I used a Pink/Kraft combo

The image is called Butterfly and Bluebonnet from Eureka Stamps available here
I just love this pretty image - I thought it was Lupins but Eureka call it Blue Bonnet.  Maybe its just the same thing different continent! - I'm sure some botanical person will be able to put me right.
The picture looks brighter than it actually is - I photographed it with a flash photo and I think its picked up the white areas and brightened them!

I'm feeling a need to get a bit distressed and inky lately so really enjoyed making this card- this was my direction when I very first started making cards and I've meandered into allsorts of other places on the way  - I've just sent for some lovely vintagey (is that a word!) stamps - so watch this space for the return of vintage!!
I sent this card to a lovely blogging buddy of mine for her birthday and I know she has it now so its safe to show!

We have two great sponsors this week

I chose to use this really cute image by Crissy Armstrong
called Cupid on a cloud it's available here

I decided straight off that he would fit perfectly into this frame and chose my papers before colouring him up.  I started off with a whole bunch of embellies - hearts, flowers, butterflies, glamourdust as well as those you can see, but - as seems to be my habit lately - most of them didn't make it on to the card.

This is what I did....
