This study examines the efficacy of the Canadian Memory Fund to advantage the use of digital archives for the purposes of developing historical consciousness in Canadian students and lifelong learners. The perceived significance of digital archives to this end is reflected in the launch of the Department of Canadian Heritage's (PCH) Canadian Culture Online Program (CCOP) in 2000. Employing a qualitative research design, this study examines how PCH defined the challenges to Canadians' historical memory, and conceived of a technological solution to this inherently cultural and educational challenge. Using a case study, the strategies deployed by the CBC and Radio-Canada digital archives units, funded recipients of the CMF, to achieve the intended goals of the CCOP, and whether the resulting websites meet the technical criteria for the study of historical consciousness, are examined.

This study explored the media exposure of digital native first-time voters and tested its mobilizing potential to influence their decisions in the 2016 general elections in Ghana. It distinguished between different content types that first-time voters receive on Facebook and Twitter and test for variation in mobilizing potential of these content types. This study employed survey questionnaire and Focused Group Discussion approaches and with the help of convenience sampling technique, selected a sample of 100 voters to provide information regarding the use of Facebook and Twitter by the two dominant political parties, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2016 general elections. It solicited data on the relationships between political message dissemination on Facebook and Twitter, the political knowledge, effectiveness and its influence on first time voters in the Ghana Institute of Journalism. Key findings revealed that first-time voters are more exposed to direct communication from political actors than experienced voters while content from news media on Facebook and Twitter played an equal role in both groups. It concludes that Facebook and Twitter potentially socialize young voters into polarized information environments that increase their involvement in the 2016 general elections in Ghana. It, therefore, recommends that the use of Facebook and Twitter should be encouraged since they played a significant role in the media diet of digital native voters and can foster campaign participation.

Gender is referred to as a socially constructed characteristic of both women and men, like norms, roles, and relationships of and between groups of women and men. It changes from society to society and can also vary sometimes. Some gender roles in some societies are more rigid than others, for instance, in Pakistan, the role of men is to decide what the lady and females should do, hence, they are seen as the main decision-makers so women aren't given the chance to talk up albeit they don’t just like the idea.

This paper seeks to analyze the National Gender Policy to seek out how best it's transformed society. Various scholarly and literature materials were consulted and used to draft this paper. Gender empowerment has been the main key for development in many countries across the planet but there are tons of nations still finding it difficult to offer the chance to women to require up certain roles in society and also to form certain decisions to assist cause development. 2018 Statistics from the World Bank show that 79% of men structure the labor force participation rate and, 64% of girls structure the labor force participation rate, obviously, this shows most girls are marginalized within the society even at the workplace.

Agriculture has been the main benchmark for development in most agrarian economic-based countries in Africa, starting from livestock, forestry, crops, fisheries because of its subsectors. In Ghana, the world has remained a dominant employer as statistical data from the Ghana Statistical Service, 2019 states that about 60.3 per cent of the working population are into agriculture with about 74.4 per cent and 46. 8 per cent are males and females respectively. The agriculture sector can't be undervalued because it provides employment, food security, boost revenue generation through product exportation and has the tendency to eradicate poverty within the country. To reinforce productivity within the agriculture sector, the extension is viewed because of the corps d’elite movers of growth into improving the quality of living of the people (Pickering, 1983; Lemecha and Mume, 2011). In many parts of Africa, agriculture extension has been unrolled to assist boost the efficiency of the world.  However, Agriculture extensions are often defined as a system focused on building the capacity of farmers by improving their access to technical know-how, credit and loan facilities and natural resources management skills to enhance their livelihood and ensure agriculture sustainability (Christoplos, 2010). Communication and learning activities are mostly utilized in rendering the extension services to people that are into rural farming by agriculture educators from different disciplines (Waddington 2010) which incorporates technical assistance on growing seedlings, fertilizer application, equipment use and maintenance, marketing advice and therefore the likes.

En marge de cette présence dans la société, les relations triangulaires sont aussi observées depuis quelques décennies au cinéma et elles intéressent de plus en plus de chercheurs. À l’aide des travaux de Serge Chaumier sur la représentation des triades au cinéma et de la recherche sur les coalitions au sein des triades de Theodore Caplow, nous souhaitons observer les rôles et les fonctions du tiers afin de savoir s’il contribue à la reconfiguration de la société patriarcale.

Nous effectuons cette recension des rôles et des fonctions du tiers dans trois films français (Wild Side, Sébastien Lifshitz, 2004; Les Chansons d’amour, Christophe Honoré, 2007; À trois on y va, Jérôme Bonnell, 2015) à l’aide de l’analyse de contenu qualificative, qui nous permet de définir avec plus de précision ces nouvelles constructions identitaires.

S’inscrivant dans la poursuite des recherches de Chaumier, notre étude permet de mieux comprendre les nouveaux rôles du tiers au cinéma : il est aujourd’hui perçu davantage comme un allié plutôt qu’une menace. De plus, il est moins représenté à titre d’amant caché. Par contre, les dictats de la société patriarcale imposent toujours leur joug et forcent souvent les relations triangulaires à vivre cachées ou à se déconstruire.

The imminent enforcement of separate cyberbullying laws established in 2014 by Australia and Canada stems from a single objective of creating a safe online environment. The countries have similar western lifestyles, education systems, and diverse cultural perceptions. People in both countries are experiencing cyberbullying’s harmful effects in schools, higher education institutions, and workplaces. One consequence of such behaviour is youth suicides. Sharing a common first language (English), both countries’ states/provinces have similar laws but different procedures and penalties (for example, for education and healthcare), and federal laws with respect to cyberbullying apply to all states/provinces. This paper will outline a research project to be undertaken that will examine cross-cultural ethical differences in the societal effects of cyberbullying from a philosophical perspective that is geared for practical science, technology, and ethics application. The proposed cyberbullying theoretical framework illustrates the overlapping of the three essential elements—technology, ethics, and governance. These three elements are analogous to the trinity doctrine.

Noticing that there are ever more popular television shows centering around the workingclass, this thesis analyses the complex representations of working-class, female characters on the popular prime-time television shows 2 Broke Girls, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, and Shameless through a mixed method, phenomenological approach focusing on a visual and textual analysis. Primarily making use of a Cultural Studies and feminist lens, I focus on deconstructing the categorical codes: body language, attire, attitude, language, interaction with others, and class comparisons that present themselves in each episode and argue that these shows' representation follow both a dominant ideological framework and present forms of agency that illustrate how intersectional these characters are.

As we enter a new era marked by changing values, driven by disruptive technologies and leading to the erosion of trust, organizations today are facing crises at greater frequency than in the past. Transformation is a phenomenon that appears to have taken place in each and every period of history, but it has never been as rapid, comprehensive, and unpredictable as we observe it today. There are an increasing number of people who name the era that we currently live in as the post-truth era where the focus is on narratives, their significance, and their abilities of persuasion, rather than focusing on presenting knowledge or the truth. Causality, or the rational paradigm, that was defended by modernism, does not seem to have enough prowess to interpret today's complexity and phenomena. This perspective and transformation are also valid for at organizations that encounter crises. This article gives a theoretical framework for scrutinising how organizations deal with obstacles within post-truth times. It suggests that the value-based and emotionally-driven framework of the narrative paradigm might be the most powerful communication approach adopted by an organization during a corporate crisis in this new era.

Cyberbullying refers to the behaviour of inflicting harm upon a certain individual or group by using information or communication technologies. Although it originally became a topic of discussion in Europe and North America, it has now become a worldwide issue. Bullying is not a new phenomenon but 'conventional bullying' is now being replaced by cyberbullying. With the increasing use of the Internet, mobile devices and particularly the spread of social media, the number of individuals vulnerable to cyberbullying is on the rise. In this context, angry or offensive messages, those mocking, teasing, intimidating, acquiring private information by means of fake accounts or attempts to spread such information may all be considered as examples of cyberbullying. While conventional bullying may occur at a certain place or time, cyberbullying emerges anytime and anywhere people may have access to the Internet. Additionally, factors such as cyberbullying's capacity to spread more quickly and simultaneously to a larger number of people, its long-lasting effects and the perpetrator's perception of concealing his/her identity enhance the need for multidimensional scholarly studies on this subject.
