Stencil Restock & NEWS.

Hello & Happy Friday!

Thank you for all the birthday wishes earlier this week and for all that have kept me busy order wise, taking advantage of the discount code I offered.

If you've not signed up for Uniko's newsletter, I do recommend it as it's the main way I let you all know about codes, restocks and new releases. I do by best not to send too many emails, 2-3 a month, depending on how busy the month is! You can find the sign up at the bottom of the website homepage.

Talking of the website.

I'm super excited to share with you that I have a brand new website launching soon. I'm so excited to have a fresh design and new features.

Unfortunately, I am unable to take your account information over to the new website. So if you would like to save any information for your personal records, such as order history and wish list. I encourage you to do so by Sunday 19th May 2024

If for any reason you are unable to do this or you would like some assistance, please drop me an email ([email protected]) with your account email and I can save and forward you the information.

Stencil Restocks.

I apologise for the HUGE delay on stencil restocks. It's been a bumpy road with manufacturers. My original manufacturer is flying high with their business and was struggling to accommodate my needs. So as good as the manufacturer is of my stamps, their quantity for older designs is a bit too much, so I've been testing out new small business suppliers and I have hopefully found the one who can accommodate me.

Anyway, I am pleased to say I have a small number of the following restocks, that landed in the studio today...

Clear Stamp Restocks.

I will be updating the website this weekend with expected clear stamp restocks and make them available for backorder. These are due in the studio 29th May 2024.

Now, I couldn't let the day go by without making a card, so I dusted off the Quilted stencil as it's been a highly requested and anxiously awaited by a few crafters...

Unusually for me I opted for some softer pastel shades, Nectar and Powder. I love the quilted pattern and white spacing, so kept my card pretty free of colour other than the stencilled design and background mat layer.

Pure Florals Cosmos has been neglected a bit and so I opted to ink it up and pair it with the Thank You sentiment from Everyday Sentiments

That's all I have for today. Now back to work on the new website.

Introducing... Stencil Flower Power #6

Happy Tuesday!

Welcome Back to Day 2 of the introductions. If you've missed anything or you are wondering what is going, please check out this post HERE. Also, we had a fun stencil introduction yesterday HERE

Today I am delighted to formally introduce you to the next flower in the Flower Power series of stencils, Flower Power #6.

The idea of these Flower Power Stencils are to have a larger version of the flower to create more creative opportunities pairing them with the original stamps, using them on their own or pairing them with other products.

I absolutely love what the Brand Ambassadors have created, be sure to hop along and see.

What a fun hop and I sure got some more ideas I would like to try. What about you, do you love the new sizing of this Flower Power rose?

I do hope you will pop back tomorrow for the last two stencil introductions. They will all be available to purchase 9am GMT Thursday 3rd November 2022.

Until tomorrow, Crafty Hugs

Brand Ambassador Inspiration - CASE Myself

This is a second special Birthday-surprise for Bev!

Today it's on me to join into the fun of the CASE myself event on the Uniko Blog!
There's a difference to the other participating crafters - they are all Alumni Team Members who just came back to celebrate the 10th Birthday of Uniko with Bev, the team and all customers...
But I am still an active member! During the next days you will see what I'm talking about... the February Release is coming closer - just a few days left until the Sneak Peek and Introducing Days will start!
😀

Beverley released her very first stencil designs in autumn 2017.
I was so honoured when Bev asked me to join a small team with a focus on stencils! Sure I wanted!
During the years I had some Guest Designer postings, but wasn't a permanent member of any team before!
On February, 17th 2018 Bev introduced our new Stencil Design Team on the Uniko Blog
- Sarah Gray, Julie Beech, Linda Walmsley and me.

But first let's return to the CASE myself event!
Is there anything closer than using my very first contribution I made as fresh team member of the Stencil Design Team and CASE it?
Definitly not!

This is the card I used as CASE inspiration:

KomMa-designed_K1-907
K1-907 - fly by balloons

I made three new cards.

For the first one I used the Equalizer block Stencil, The English Country Garden Butterflies Stamps and Dies and a sentiment of the Anniversaire Arts Décoratives set.
Here I've used the layout and the colours of the balloon card. I also took the three different colours of the balloons to the butterflies. The background isn't embossed here, but the front of the butterflies and the sentiment are. The butterflies are adhered one side flat, the other one with a mix of 1 mm and 2 mm dimensional pads.

KomMa-designed_K1-1561_#2
K1-1561 - Birthday Butterflies

The second one is made with the Honeycomb Pattern Stencil and the Bee happy and Simply Said Blocks II.
Here I've used the layout, but different colours. Again I intensified the colours from top to bottom. The three bees are identical, but (like balloons in the wind) they fly in different directions. The sentiment isn't on a banner this time, but it has a black background like in the original card.

KomMa-designed_K1-1560_#1
K1-1560 - Bee Wishes

And the third one is in the background like the one before, but I changed the sentiment to one of Floral Vines and the bees to "the one" of Mid Century Modern Florals.
Maybe you can remember, where you have seen these bees before?
If not, hop here or here and you will find my funny special own bee-creations - it's like a second act of CASEing myself.
The little rings and dots give an optical kind of black background for the sentiment, but with a lighter, less bold look.

KomMa-designed_K1-1559_#1
K1-1559 - Happy BeeDay

Stay inspired and be excited, what the Uniko BA-team will show you soon!

Hello December & A Winner!

How did we get to the final month of the year?

I really don't know where November went, but one thing I am determined to see 2021 out with some festive fun, so you're really going to want to stick around and check in 😉 regularly!

So I am starting the day off with some festive creativity and a belated winner as I simply forgot to announce it, so my apologies 🙈

First up I have two cards to share using the prize going to one lucky person at the end of the post...

My first card I wanted to pair the Stencil - Mid Century Modern Shapes with Designer Die Sparkling Snowflake. I think they have paired together pretty well, especially with this icy aqua colour combo.

I used three shades of Altenew Sweet Dreams ink collection , Dew Drops, Aqualicious and Teal Cave. I added some sparkle to the snowflake and a sentiment from Simply Said Blocks Christmas.

As we've officially begun the countdown to Christmas I decided to put a festive spin on the Flower Power #5 stencil...

My idea is it represents a modern interpretation of a white Christmas rose. I used white pigment ink through the stencil and once dried I added yellow ink to the centre.

I then decided to add a sheen with embossing through the stencil with VersaMark & WOW Glossy Clear embossing powder. I then added a simple sentiment from Christmas Sentiments.

Okay, so that's my creativity for today. How about we get to that winner...?

With the help of Random.org the lucky comment left on the post HERE is...

Wow, these are gorgeous stencils and very unique!

Congratulations 🎉 please send me an email with your postal address no later than Friday 17th December 2021 to claim your prize.

Thank you to all those who left comments and joined in on the fun. Don't worry, there is SO much more fun to be had this month :)😊

September/October 2021 Release Sneak Peeks!

 Hello!

FINALLY! After a few hiccups along the way, the day is here and I can officially kick off the countdown to the September / October 2021 Release with some sneak peeks!

Though, you might have caught some HERE on the blog yesterday and on my Instagram HERE. Be sure to check the fun Funky Fossil and Uniko Collaboration Instahop out for your chance to win!

So let's have a peek at what is to come this week...

Firstly I have a sneak at a new addition to a popular series of stamps and one with a Scandinavian / Nordic feel to it.

Do I spy some new sentiments in my current favourite font?!

This looks intriguing! Honestly this is SO much fun 🤩 I had a blast designing this set and the concept to work with other festive sentiments and images that I have already released. Then it's been just as fun creating with it 😉

Lastly, but by no means least a new addition to the stencil line up...

Just a little release this time, but one that I think packs a punch and fits in well with our festive range of products.

What do you think? What are you most looking forward to seeing more of? I can't wait for you to see what the Brand Ambassadors have been creating!

We have our first product introduction tomorrow, so be sure to pop back and hop along with us. Until then, thank you for stopping by.

Countdown to Christmas Day 20 - Stencil Sunday

 Happy Sunday!

Today was a much more relaxed day for me, it has been nice to go at a slower pace and enjoy some time with The Beans and my husband.

I spent some time outside in the garage while The Beans had a play on their bikes. Our garage is a multi-function area. It is your usual storage of tools and bikes, but we have made it our home gym too. We have a treadmill, a cross-trainer and my husband has a weights bench in there and his pride and joy a full size pool (billiard) table!

Anyway, back at the end of Summer I spent an afternoon sorting and tidying a lovely workout area for my to do my home fitness programmes in and planned on getting some gym flooring to make it a little nicer and more appealing to do the floor work!

Then my husbands boss passed away and my husband had the job of emptying (and storing) the works unit and it took up all the lovely space I had made. So today we spent time clearing and moving stuff into the loft area so that the flooring I have ordered has a space to be put down and a new piece of equipment mounted on the wall.

As much as I find it easy to workout indoors, it is home fitness after all and I literally fall out of bed at 5:30, do a 5 min affirmation a bit of reading and then do my workout at 6am with an awesome group of ladies via zoom (my accountability / team), I keep the TV volume down and don't play music as to not to wake anyone!

It's going to be pretty cold in the garage at 6am, but I am looking forward to being able to have the volume up a little, listen to music and not worry about waking anyone up! I am sure I will soon warm up as I do my workout.

As you might be able to tell and if you follow me on Instagram, you might have noticed my sister account and how BIG a part of my life investing in my health & fitness has become. Not only have I seen a difference physically, it has helped me especially with my mental and emotional health post lockdown 1 and during lockdown 2. I'd hit a big time low in lockdown, being on furlough, not having time or being able to do Uniko, home schooling and all the rest took its toll on me and this came and has been my outlet of frustration which has led to enjoyment too!

Anyway, enough of my rambling, I didn't intend on 'sharing' so much! I even found some creative time this morning and it was lovely to find enjoyment in joining in on a challenge, something I haven't done for a while...

My card layout is from the current CAS(E) this Sketch! challenge HERE and seen below. It's been a while since I was inspired and had the time to look through some of my favourite challenge blogs.

I decided to ink up the Christmas Folk Snowflake as I don't feel I have given it much love this festive season!

It's another stencil that I am drawn to inking with red! And is it just me that uses WAY much more ribbon when making Christmas cards than any other time of year?!

Another super simple & quick Christmas make from me today & I think I am almost done with Christmas cards, yay! I am just doing neighbour & local friends cards that I will deliver one evening this week.

Okay, I best go and get these Beans to sleep! Their bedtime during the holidays gets later and later and this mummy is up early!

I'll be back tomorrow with more to share. Until then, thank you for stopping by today.

Countdown to Christmas Day 13 - Stencil Sunday

 Hey & Happy Sunday!

There was LOTS of excitement here yesterday as Santa came by our road on wheels! Yep, he drove by on an open top bus to wish all the children a Happy Christmas 2020 style. It made up for us being in a high Covid tier and not being able to do so many of the usual festivities with The Beans this year. Here are a couple of photos I took as I know many of you enjoy seeing and reading about what they get up to.

With that excitement I was feeling festive too and as I am without an oven until Tuesday (fingers crossed) I wasn't able to do any baking today, so I made todays Countdown to Christmas cards early ;) I've really enjoyed using all my Christmas supplies and as well as reaching for the NEW products, I have been dusting off the older ones too.

Today, I had a card layout in mind and I used it for both cards but simply switched the stencil design and the colours. First up I gave some fresh inky love to Stencil - Scandinavian Christmas.

For some reason I always reach for red or white to ink up this stencil. It is certainly a favourite and with the detail in the pattern the card doesn't need much embellishment. I did however ink through the stencil with a clear embossing pad before removing to heat emboss some sparkle!

I used a wavy scalloped border die (Mama Elephant I think) to create a detailed edge along the red sentiment layer and I gold heat embossed the Season's Greetings sentiment from the NEW Christmas Wishes clear stamp set.

Next I inked up the Stencil - Let it Snow and used the exact same card layout and just switched up the colours to my 'go to' snowflake combo!

I love shades of Aqua / Turquoise for snowflakes and I used Altenew Aqualicious for to ink up the snowflakes. Again, before removing the stencil I inked over with a clear embossing pad and used my Stardust embossing powder to add some sparkle.

I also heat embossed the Let it Snow sentiment, another from the NEW Christmas Wishes stamp set. This sentiment set is packed full of festive sentiments and combinations.

That's all from me today, but I will be back tomorrow with more to share. Today is 'homework' day for The Beans! We have a few options to choose from, but they have selected to make a Santa's workshop. Well, in their words its a Goomba (character from Super Mario) and a Caterpillar workshop!

Thanks for stopping by & have a lovely Sunday.
