Uniko Sponsors A Passion For ProMarkers Challenge

Hey!

Apologies for being MIA for so long (again), things have been keeping me busy behind the scenes here at Uniko HQ along with life in general, including taking a couple of days off to celebrate my birthday!

Anyway, thanks for hanging in there with me I am (fingers crossed) back in the swing of things and have a few things to share this week.

First up I am super thrilled to announce that Uniko is sponsoring a new (to me) challenge Passion for ProMarkers challenge.

This is a fun challenge blog and you don't necessarily have to use ProMarkers, they accept entries using any marker, BUT to qualify for the challenge sponsorship prizes you must use some kind of Letraset marker.

This week is a special challenge as it is their anniversary - Congrats Passion for ProMarkers! Along with Uniko being a sponsor there are more prizes up for grabs so be sure to check out the challenge HERE. The challenge theme this week is...

Spots & or Stripes

Ok, so I don't actually own any ProMarkers as my followers will know I am a Copic girl (sorry ProMarker fans!) However, I was digging through the piles of stash still in the garage to be sorted to see if I had anything from Letraset and I came across a pack of 6 Pantone Tria inks my mum had bought many many years ago. Not being up with the knowledge of these inks/refill bottles I just had to experiment and go with the flow using them to create my card...

I simply used a brush to paint the inks which are alcohol based onto my SU! Whisper White CS and used some Letraset Special Effects Extender to 'blend' them. I then stamped the polaroid from Strike a Pose! and flowers from Pure Florals Cosmos in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and fussy cut them out.

The trio of stripes from Background Builders: Squared are stamped onto a separate layer of white CS along with the white Cosmos flower and sentiment from the set.

The layout of my card is based on the current sketch over at Fusion Card Challenge HERE and seen below.

Ok, that's all from me today, I will be back again with more to share this week. Until then, I hope to see you in the Passion for ProMarkers gallery :)

Happy World Card Making Day!

Hey & Happy World Card Making Day!

I do hope you are all having a lovely weekend & finding time this day of the year where we can celebrate as a creative community & enjoy our passion for making cards. I found a spare 30 minutes again today, thanks to hubby being home to make a card. I did tell him it was #WCMD2015 and it was essential! Lol!

This is what I came up with...

I'm excited to have Label Love: Thank you back in stock over on the website next week (available for pre-order from today & will ship Wednesday 7th Oct) that I had to show it some inky love. I'm still  on a roll making thank you cards and today I am thankful of quite a few things.

Today I am thankful for all of you who take the time to stop by the blog to see my creativity, for those who leave such thoughtful comments too, for those who purchase my products and those who follow me on social media. I could go on, but you get the picture, without ALL of you my dream job wouldn't be what it is and I wouldn't enjoy it as much as I do. So, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.

A small token to show my thanks to all of you I am doing a little stamp set giveaway over on Facebook & Instagram. Simply comment on either or both of the posts for your chance to win one of two Label Love: Thank you clear stamp sets.

As usual I had a play along with a challenge, it really does help spark my creativity when I only have limited time to create. This time I joined in with the Fusion Card Challenge seen HERE and below. I decided to use both the inspiration photo and the sketch. I combined 3 Uniko clear stamp sets on my card along with some Mama Elephant dies. All the products I've used are listed at the end of the post.

One last thing... as it is #WCMD2015 how about a 15% discount code?! The code #WCMD2015 is valid until midday (BST)  tomorrow Sunday 4th October 2015. Simply apply the code to the coupon box during checkout.

That's all I have for today, but as the beans are now tucked up in their cots asleep AND hubby is watching England in the rugby I will now sneak off to the studio and make a couple more cards!! It is #WCMD2015 after all!

Until the next time, thanks for stopping by today.

More Birthday Flowers!

Hey & Happy Weekend!

It's a Bank Holiday weekend here in the UK which means a lovely LONG weekend with my husband!

Partly because it's a long weekend and partly because we now only have 8 days till baby beans arrive (EEEK!) In celebration I have a special 20% off your order code valid over on the website all the details in the above graphic. Now is the time to shop and treat yourself to something ;)

Today I have another floral birthday card to share with you...

I made this card for my Mother-In-Law whose birthday was on Thursday. We had a lovely BIG family get together and BBQ on Thursday night celebrating birthdays, family reunions (Karl's cousin & family are over from NZ for the wedding), pre wedding celebrations and impending baby beans arrival! It was a wonderful evening filled with lots of laughter :)

I made this card at the same time as yesterday's card HERE, hence the same colour scheme and stamps used!! This time I decided to combine the Fusion Card Challenge sketch and inspiration photo seen HERE and below.

I'm really pleased with how the card turned out and my MIL seemed to like it too!! Here's a close up of the detail...

All the supplies I've used to make the card are all listed at the end of the post. I had best get on and complete a few more jobs in the studio, along with packing lovely customer orders as TIME is running out!!

I'll be back again tomorrow with more to share & until then, thank you for stopping by today :)

Happy Birthday Nonni!

Hey & Happy Friday!

Today I have a birthday card to share with you which I have made for a sweet blogging friend & fellow TIME OUT Challenges DT member... Nonni

Sandie from London Days, who is also on the TIME OUT Challenges team has organised a 'Birthday Linky Party' HERE and invited friends from all around the world & crafty blog community to join in and make a card.

This is what I made...

I'm still in LOVE with Flower Power #6 and it just doesn't seem to leave my acrylic blocks! I used a combination of challenges to inspire me for this card, firstly the inspiration photo over on Fusion  Card Challenges HERE and seen below.

I also used the new CAS(E) this Sketch! layout seen HERE and above. I started out by masking out a rectangle on my white CS and randomly stamped the flowers and leaves. I stamped the sentiment from Strike a Pose! in SU! Pumpkin Pie, securing it onto the card using foam adhesive. I then added a fussy cut flower and leaves to the edge of the sentiment for a bit of dimension too, but just used DST to secure it so I could pop it slightly behind the sentiment.

So, HaPpY bIrThDaY Nonni, I hope you have the most wonderful day :) You can join in too, all the details are HERE on Sandie's blog.

That's all from me today, until tomorrow, thank you for stopping by today :)

Fusion & French Cupcake Inspiration!

Hey & Happy Monday!

Apologies for my tardiness today in posting, I didn't make it into the studio to create yesterday & today I have spent most of the day catching up with my college friends, chatting & having lunch in the sunshine - Oh and ice cream!

I'm here in the studio this evening enjoying the slightly cooler temperature and getting my craft on whilst the hubby is out playing football! I decided to have a little play along with the current Fusion Card Challenge seen HERE and below my card for some inspiration and this is what I came up with...

Not a cupcake in sight, instead a little cluster of my current 'go to' flowers! I did use the inspiration photo, but for the colours it features. I also rotated the sketch counter clockwise.

Such a lovely soft colour palette and featuring aqua a favourite colour of mine :) Below is a little close up of the floral detail...

Short & sweet from me today, I want to make another card tonight to share with you tomorrow afternoon, as I am back the hospital tomorrow morning for another scan & check up on the not so 'lil beans!!

Until then, thank you for stopping by today :)

Gold Butterflies

Hey & Happy Friday!

Yay for the weekend :) It's been a long week here at Uniko Studio HQ, but I am happy with what I've achieved this week. I hope you've all had a good week too. I'm looking forward to an afternoon of crafting tomorrow as the hubby goes looking at new cars & test driving them with his dad.

Anyway, I'm here today with some gold butterflies...

This week CAS(E) this Sketch! are joining forces with Fusion Card Challenge and when I saw the combo HERE,  HERE and below I instantly had an idea and had to interpret the sketch quite literally!

Of course I had to use the NEW English Country Garden - Butterflies stamp set and my fresh Encore Gold ink pad :)

I'm out of the studio today getting some much needed fresh air and exercise! I do monthly health walks with my MIL run by a voluntary group and we visit a village or town within the North East, do a 2-3 mile walk and then enjoy a nice lunch and a spot of shopping in the place we've walked to. I started these walks not only for the exercise but also to visit towns and villages I might not necessarily visit in my own time.

Anyway, enough chatter for today, I will be back tomorrow with more to share & until then, thank you for stopping by :)

Birthday Butterflies

Hey!

How is everyone? I do hope your having a lovely weekend. The weather isn't so great here in the North of the UK, perfect weather to stay in the studio crafting!

Today's card is one I made yesterday...

I used a couple of challenges for my card too. Firstly I used the current Fusion challenge HERE and seen below. I just love the sketch and there are so many colour options and themes you could use from the inspiration photo. I used the inspiration for my colour choices and kept the brights muted by placing a vellum butterflies over the top of the coloured patterned butterflies.

The reason for choosing butterflies was because of the current 'Less is more' challenge HERE, which is to create a birthday card for Jen, Jen likes butterflies and so that is the reason for my butterflies! I'm super happy with how this card turned out!

Friday was Midsummer Solstice here in the UK and the Northern Hemisphere, so to celebrate Uniko Studio has an offer on of FREE WORLDWIDE SHIPPING on ALL orders, not just those over £50! Be sure to pop on over and take advantage of this special offer as it ends TODAY Midnight BST!

That's all from me today, I'm going to sort a few things in the studio, organise myself for the coming week and make a few more cards!

I hope you all have a lovely day & thanks for stopping by today.

More Watercolour Blooms...

Hey!

Wednesday already?! This week seems to be flying by, probably because it's a busy one here in the studio. I have a card to share though which I made this morning...

Another watercolour bloom and quite different from yesterday's watercolour bloom HERE. Firstly because I used Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum and secondly the watercolour technique I used is the same one DT member Amber used HERE

I used the soon to be ending Fusion #8 challenge seen HERE and below both for the layout and inspiration for my card.

I tell you this card took me AGES and not because I couldn't decide what to do, it was the ribbon tying that took the time, sometimes I get it perfect first time but others like today it was frustrating! Anyway, you might spot a little peek at a NEW product launching this weekend at the Looka' Teesside Craft Fair in this next photo...

Don't worry if your not local it's not long till the NEW products will be available on the website HERE. Oh, and if you've been waiting for them to come back in stock the Pure Florals: Chrysanthemums are back in stock today!

Ok, that's all from me today, I best get to the Post Office to get some stamps on their way to some lovely customers :)

Thanks for stopping by.

Just a note, Hello

Hey!

How are we all doing? I hope everyones week has got off to a good start, my week has here in the studio as I have a guest with me for the next couple of weeks... Abbey a soon to be graduate from Cleveland College of Art and Design arrived in the studio yesterday & is undertaking an internship for work experience. Abbey has been a tremendous help already and it's all go in the studio! You'll get to hear a bit more about & from Abbey later in the week as she will be doing some guest posts here on the blog and sharing a project or two!

Ok, how about a card...

Another super CAS card today, this time I've used the current Fusion challenge seen HERE and below for the layout and colours of my card.

I've combined a few Uniko Studio products on my card today which are listed below in the supplies. Another layered vellum butterfly too on this card, the vellum really helps to soften a strong colour like the Chocolate Chip I've used and also gives the fluttering effect of butterfly wings - well I think so! Haha!

That's all from me today, lots to be done as Uniko Studio prepare for the Looka' Teesside Craft Fair on June 1st in Stockton-On-Tees & the up coming June Release! I will be sharing more about these events soon on the blog.

I'll be back tomorrow with more to share, until then thank you for stopping by :)

Glorious Sunshine!

Hey!

It's another glorious day of sunshine here in the UK and I hope to be saying that for a few months just to pre warn you - Haha! The sunshine certainly makes me happy and gives me a spring in my step, plus I seem to get more done - Haha!

Anyway, onto todays card...

I decided this morning to have a little inky session early and played along with the current Fusion (Hypothesis) #5 challenge HERE and seen below.

I fused both the sketch and the colours from the photo inspiration on my card and fused Wonderful Washi, the graphic flowers from Time & a sentiment from Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum

I started out by masking the strips I wanted to stamp on my card base as I didn't want the washi strips to be as wide as the stamps. The flowers were stamped, fussy cut out and adhered to the card. I used foam adhesive for the 2 smaller flowers to add a bit of dimension. I then stamped the sentiment & added a rhinestone to each of the flowers to finish it off.

That's all from me today, time to tick off a few more jobs on todays 'to do' list and maybe find a little time to soak up some sunshine!

Just in case you missed the announcement yesterday, there is a SALE over at the Uniko Studio SHOP!! There is 10% off selected stamp sets and 50% off digital products AND how about FREE WORLDWIDE SHIPPING on all orders!! Pop over to grab yourself a bargain!

Thanks for stopping by today, I'll be back tomorrow with more to share.

Flower Fusion

Hey!

Popping in quickly before we head out for Sunday dinner with a card I made this morning using the new Fusion challenge seen HERE and below my card...

I used both the sketch and photo inspiration for my card. I wished I had more of the turquoise colour showing on the card, but hey ho thats the way it goes!

It's been a while since I used the graphic flower trio from Time and I decided to pair it with Flower Power #1 and a super pairing even if I do say so myself! This card is also perfect for the Addicted to CAS challenge HERE, the code word being Flower.

My tummy is rumbling now so I guess it's time to go!
Thanks for stopping by today.
