Nos últimos anos, a variedade de mudanças inerentes ao ambiente organizacional tem sido objeto de discussão nos meios corporativo e acadêmico, sendo identificada a inovação como importante elemento de determinação para o melhor desempenho empresarial. Esse cenário induz à questão de que empresas com forte caráter inovador teriam intensivos investimentos em intangíveis e apresentariam vantagens competitivas capazes de influenciar a geração de valor para a empresa – enfoque adotado como pressuposto teórico do estudo. A pesquisa analisa a relação entre as variáveis ativos intangíveis e grau de inovação e o desempenho das empresas listadas na BM&FBovespa, participantes dos setores mais inovadores do Brasil, segundo classificação do Índice Brasil de Inovação (IBI). Trata-se de pesquisa descritiva, de natureza quantitativa, reunindo uma amostra de 174 empresas, compreendendo os anos de 2008 e 2009. Para tanto, utilizou-se como proxies: para os ativos intangíveis, os valores contábeis desses ativos divulgados nas demonstrações financeiras das empresas e para o grau de inovação, considerou-se o grupo de intensidade tecnológica que se enquadrasse à empresa, conforme a classificação setorial do IBI. O desempenho empresarial foi mensurado a partir do valor de mercado e o retorno do patrimônio líquido (ROE) das empresas disponível na base de dados do Economática®. Os resultados indicam que os investimentos em ativos intangíveis têm relação positiva com o valor de mercado das empresas pesquisadas, mas não se confirmou o mesmo contexto com o ROE. Quanto ao grau de inovação, os resultados indicaram haver relação positiva entre o ROE e os investimentos em intangíveis das empresas componentes do grupo 3 do IBI e negativa com as do grupo 2. Nenhuma evidência estatisticamente significante pode ser inferida sobre a relação entre o grau de inovação da empresa e a maximização do seu valor de mercado.

The purpose of this article is to determine the contribution of the Mandalla Project into guiving meaning and significance to the work of the family farmer. It consists of a descriptive exploratory study, qualitative, through analysis of reports, videos and interviews. The results indicate that the Mandalla Project is a Social Innovation that enhances the pleasure in work, as they increase the sense of belonging of rural workers, their social relations and the perception of significance of their work, helping to prevent their migration to urban centers while strengthening family agriculture

The results revealsome entrepreneurial characteristics more frequently among the students as Persistence, Influence, Initiative, Objectivity and Financial Management; nevertheless, even these entrepreneurial characteristicsstudiedhavelittle influenceon thedemand foran incubator.

O caso destaca os trabalhos desenvolvidos pela Agência de Desenvolvimento Econômico Local (ADEL) através de programas destinados a agricultores familiares e jovens empreendedores rurais, residentes na região. O caso é indicado para disciplinas de inovação social, que promovam discussões a respeito do papel das tecnologias sociais para promover transformações sociais e do desafio de transferi-las ou reaplicá-las em novos territórios.

This study draws from the resource-based theory and investigates the interrelationships between three types of eco-innovation (process, product,
organizational) and their impact on business performance. Using a structural equation design with 70 samples collected from textile industry,
research results showthat business performance is affected by product and organizational eco-innovations. The process and product eco-innovations
significantly influence the effects of organizational eco-innovation, and there are connections between process and product eco-innovations. Research
reveals that each type of eco-innovation has its own attributes, determinants, and contributions to business performance. Study on the textile sector
broadens the discussion of interdependence and co-evolutionary relationships among different types of eco-innovation and demonstrates that the
development of efficient innovation programs requires a holistic view and organizational and technological capabilities

This paper aims to explore critical elements for eco-retrofitting a conventional industrial park, based on a survey of companies and institutions located in Brazil. The study investigates social barriers to be overcome in promotion of opportunities for waste exchange. Our results indicate that values, trust behaviour, waste cognitive domain and environment engagement are necessary for the creation of an eco-industrial park. Similar values of benevolence and universalism are essential for company engagement to eco-retrofit. Low levels of trust behaviour combining with limited waste cognitive domain prevent firms from establishing agreement on waste exchange initiatives. The findings lend support to the view that social barriers are prerequisites to engagement among firms in establishing technological and logistical solutions. Serious attention needs to be given to these social barriers because they are not easily overcome in the social and economic context of developing countries.

Purpose – The purpose of this study is to propose a multidimensional view of social innovation.

Design/methodology/approach – It offers a detailed analysis of the activities performed by ADEL (Agência de Desenvolvimento Econômico Local) – a regional non-governmental organization located in one of
the poorest regions of Brazil – which is succeeding in engaging young people in the promotion of local development. The case was analysed drawing on the dimensions structured by researchers of one of the main
centres of social innovation in the world, the Centre de Recherche sur Les Innovations Sociales (CRISES) based in Canada.

Findings – The results found characterize ADEL as a social innovation based on the dimensions of social innovation described in the CRISES’ conceptual encyclopaedia (Tardif and Harrison, 2005). The results highlight the singularities of the case studied, which allowed the elaboration of a revisited table of dimensions proposed by the CRISES’ researchers.

Research limitations/implications – For future studies, using the CRISES’ table as reference of analysis for other social innovations, the possibility suggested is the quantitative exploration of these dimensions.

O presente artigo tem como objetivo principal identificar aspectos e princípios de Inovação Social e Economia Solidária em uma Bodega localizada no bairro Conjunto Esperança em Fortaleza/CE: a BudegAMA. Enquanto parte da Rede Bodegas, é formada por mulheres que se reúnem para confeccionar e comercializar peças de artesanato; disseminando entre elas a importância do trabalho associativo e da criatividade de cada uma. Para o objetivo, realizou-se um estudo de caso e uma pesquisa qualitativa, exploratória e descritiva, utilizando a técnica de análise de conteúdo. Verificamos que a Bodega se caracteriza tanto como Inovação Social como Economia Solidária, havendo consistência e relação com os três eixos propostos por CRISES (2004).

Este estudo identificou as competências interculturais desenvolvidas por estudantes estrangeiros que realizaram intercâmbio na Universidade Federal do Ceará no período entre 2008 e 2015. O modelo de Avaliação da Competência Intercultural (ACI) de Fantini (2007) foi utilizado para identificar e mensurar estas competências. Os resultados evidenciaram que houve aumento em cada um dos componentes do modelo. Os estudantes portugueses apresentaram o maiores índices no início e no final do intercâmbio, enquanto que os alemães obtiveram o menor no começo do intercâmbio, e os espanhóis apresentaram um menor índice de competência intercultural no final do programa.
