A Set of Four Christmas Cards

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? We have had a busy few day. There are still issues with the care we have set up for my in-laws. I am sure everything we get sorted out soon.

When I have been feeling like crafting I have been making Christmas cards. I find these the most restful things to make. I have done a lot of colouring lately and that helps too.

I was given some old cards that all matched. They were used to make new cards and I used up lots of off cuts of patterned papers.

There were lots of scraps left over so I made a Snippets background for one of the cards.

This was a great way to use up some things that had been hanging around my craft area for a while.

I actually think this is the first card I made. That paper is so pretty.

There we have the  four similar cards. I still have more I would like to make.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Left over Designer Paper Thank You Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? We had a quiet one. The weather was good for crafting. We did get out for a couple of walks between the showers and we did a little gardening. Today restrictions are lifted a bit more. We won't be rushing to do anything. There is plenty of time. It does mean that the walking group my husband attends on a Monday won't have to restrict their numbers to six.

When you have a birthday you need thank you cards. So on Sunday when it was raining and that is what I was doing. I managed to make seven. I was trying out the Diamond Point card design. I did make a few which I will share with you later.  I was left with lots of off cuts. So being me they just had to be made into card.

Apart from the Glitter card just about everything in this card was made from left over bits and pieces. The background was made with bits of Claritystamp Designer papers laid over each other. All the papers I used were from the Antarctica pad.

This is one of the Claritystamp club dies. I have used if for thank you cards  before. I like it a lot.

That's the cards made now they need writing and some will be posted and some will be hand delivered.

Snippet busting Tag

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitor

We had snow yesterday. We came out to the supermarket it was sunny and there was snow falling. It was very cold. The heating has gone back on for a while. We also popped to the garden centre yesterday to pick up a few bits for the garden.

I had a bit of a play yesterday afternoon. I have seen a few other people making very nice things with the leftovers they have from their crafting. Well I think lots of us have those. I decided to make a tag. I treated myself to the John Next Door Luggage Tag die set. You do get a good sized tag with that die set.

I cut the largest tag die from the die set. I hunted through my backgrounds and found a strip that would make the background for the lattice that was cut from a scrap of white card. Making a tag meant that I could use up thinner strips of card and paper. Can you see the leaves? They are made with the Aster Die Set. I used some very small bits of green card.

I have a pot of all the die cuts I have made and not needed. This is where the John Next Door Dragonfly came from.

All the Cornflower and the centre from the Small Flowers die were in that pot. Can you see the small dragonfly too.

There you have it. I enjoyed making this tag and seeing what I could make from all those leftover bits and bobs. No worries there are still bits left. I will have another go sometime.

Pretty Floral Easter Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? We have had some nice weather. Today isn't so nice. Today is also vaccination day for us. This afternoon we will be heading off to the vaccination centre. We were lucky and managed to get appointments together.

I have been making Easter cards. The Mother's Day cards I have made are in the post.

I just love the Small Flower die and the Small leaves die from the John Next Door range. I used card for the flowers that I had coloured with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens. They are no good for colouring anymore but the ink in them makes gorgeous papers. The leaves were cut with paper I found in my Snippets stash.

This sentiment was made with some of the Stencil Sentiments die set from the John Next Door range. I think I heard John say that some more words and phrases are coming in this style.

There you have it a pretty floral Easter card. I think I have all my Easter cards made now. I really ought to make some more Christmas cards. This is the first blog post I have completed on our new laptop. I am taking quite a while to get used to it. A friend helped my out by making me some watermarks.

Enjoy the rest of the week

February Rudolph Days Challenge - Merry Christmas

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been. On Tuesday when the weather was nice we went down to  Hamble which is near us. You can walk by the River Hamble and there is a place to get take away coffee. It is nice  to go there and is about 10 minutes drive from where we live.

I like entering the Rudolph Days challenge which runs every month from the 25th to the end of the month. This is the only Christmas card I have made this month. I have been rather busy with some bits and pieces I will be able to share with you early in March.

You know me I am always on the look out for ways to use up my scraps of paper.

Used the flag dies that came with the Shutter Card Die Set from the John Next Door range to make the flags across the top of the card. I think the effect looks something like a curtain. The paper underneath I found in my stash.

The sentiment comes with the round bauble die set from the John Next Door range.

These reindeer come from the same die set.

Here is another card for my Christmas stash.

Easter Wishes pretty floral card.

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? We had a quiet one as usual. On Saturday evening we do try to watch a film. There are a lot to choose from on Netflix etc. Last week we saw The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. This week we watched Late Night. We had some good news. We managed to get a Council tax refund for my parents as they are in receipt of Attendance Allowance. This has taken 6 months but we did get a whole years refund. Also our daughter went for a Covid test which came back negative. She was feeling poorly she is much better now.

I have been busy crafting but I can't share what I have been working on just yet. I found myself with a bit of time on Friday so I decided to make a few more Easter cards.

This is a DL Easter card.  The backing paper is from Polkadoodles.  I printed too much for a Design Team Project it was too pretty not to use.

I used the Stencil Sentiments die set from the John Next Door range to make the sentiment. It is great how you can use the dies to make different sentiments.

I used the Small Flowers and the Small Leaves die sets from the John Next Door range to make the flower spray. I made three cards like this and I cut the dies three times. This meant that I could match the leaves on each card. The dots are cut with the leaves die. The dots in the centre of the flowers was made with some Pearl PVA glue from Creative Expressions. All the flowers and leaves were made with scraps of paper.

I do want to make some more Easter cards. The next thing I need to make is an Anniversary card for my hubby it will be 39 years this year. I wonder if we will be able to celebrate next year.

Floral Tag

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your week? We finished not one but two jigsaw puzzles. I will have to order some more. Also I  was asked to make a cake topper. This was a first for me. When the card and the cake topper have been given to the recipient I will show you.

Well I really raided the scrap pile for this make absolutely everything was made from scraps. I treated myself to the John Next Door Luggage tags die set. This is what I have used here.

I used a selection of John Next door dies including: the Star Flower leaves, Small Butterflies and Small Flower die sets. The lattice is also one of his dies but I can't remember what that set was called. I used some Cosmic Shimmer Pearl PVA glue in the centre of the flowers.

I am pleased with the Luggage Tag die set. I think I will be using it a lot. It comes with some handy corners that might be good with Parchment Craft.

Christmas Star Nativity Scene Christmas Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you had a good weekend in spite of the weather. We did have a lot of rain. Our plans on Sunday were cancelled so we had a whole weekend catching up on jobs around the house. I even managed to get out to buy a pair of shoes.

When I have been making larger card blanks. There is usually a strip of card left over and I have been using this to make much smaller card blanks. Now I have quite a few of the smaller card blanks and I decided to use one.

When I was tidying some of my craft stash I came across some card blanks that had this pattern on one side. So I cut one down to go at the back of this card.

The frame was cut with the Christmas Star die set from the John Next Door range. I don't think it is available this year. For the scene inside the frame I used a mix of dies from the Nativity and O Little Town die sets from the John Next Door range. All the card I used on this card came from my Snippets stash. .

As I said I have quite of few of this size of card blank. I might be using them to make more cards with this design.

Nautical Card made with Snippets

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? Things just seem to be getting busier and busier. I don't know about you?

I was looking through my files and I came across this cute little nautical card.

From time to time I have been having a sort out of some of my stash. I had lots of strips of nautical themed patterned paper. I used these to make the background for this card.

The scene was created with the Nautical Scenes die set that came free with a magazine.

I have been making a few things for the sale at the end of August this is one of them. I had a meeting about the sale with my friend yesterday. Her garden is beautiful and a pleasure to sit in,

A Cute Bee Happy Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you had a good weekend. In spite of the rain we managed to get a lot of gardening done on Saturday. Then on Sunday we had friends round for lunch in the garden it was rather windy though. All in all it was a good weekend. I wonder what will happen this week.

As I have said recently when I am using digi images I often print more than one. I found this image and I had a go at colouring it with my Prismacolor Pencils.

The background was made with some inky kitchen roll stuck to some card. I used Snippets of black card to make the hexagons the sentiment and the bees.

This image is called Spring Bumble Bee and it is available HERE from Star Stampz.   The image was printed onto a blue background and coloured with Prismacolor pencils. I do love practising with them. I added a stalk to the flower with a Micron Pen.

I might send this to someone who needs cheering up.

Feel Better Soon Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How are you all doing? Are you managing to get everything you need? We are fine we even did a bit of shopping last week for  two older couples who aren't going out . The delivery slots are so difficult to get. We have told them to get in touch if they need anything else. On a positive note I have managed to get Attendance Allowance for both of my parents. My mum gets the higher rate and my dad the lower. The payments were backdated to when I phoned up and asked for the forms. Every little helps.

I don't know if you are like me but I am finding it very difficult to craft at the moment. If I do manage to make something I am usually not very pleased with it.

A little while ago I made this little feel better card.

I seached through my scrap box and found this background made with Distress Oxides that I had never used.

The banner was cut from a scrap of white glitter card. Both the banner and the sentiment are Crafter's Companion dies.

The splats/fireworks are the stamen from the Cornflower die from the John Next Door range. I have found that if you layer a 2½ wide strip across the middle of the die you get two small flowers and all the stamen. Because of this I had lots of stamen left over (I still have). I do like how they look on the card.

Is anyone else doing Barbara Gray's SHAC-Shack? It is at 10:00 every week day on Facebook. You sketch along with Barbara for an hour. I have done all of them and I can't believe what I have doodled so far. I have learnt so many tips and techniques already. The films are on YouTube as well.

Cornflower Lattice Friendship Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How are you getting on? I hope none of you have this nasty virus and that you can get the supplies that you need. What truly strange times we are living in. I am pleased that we are allowed out for exercise so I should still be able to walk. Recently we walked to our local Bronze Age burial mound. It is so strange that it is there. The mound is unimpressive when you see it but it has been there for a long time. There are some other paths and tracks I would like to investigate in the local area. I also have some seeds so I will be able to grow some flowers.

We wanted to lend a Beatles CD to our friends who are the Beatles fans. I also had a book to lend. So I decided to make a card to go with them. I have actually been finding it hard to craft. Which is strange as there is so much time, maybe that is the problem.

I wanted to make a pretty card with a lattice background. All the dies I used on this card are from the John Next Door range. I cut the lattice three times to make the background. I also cut the Ivy Spray four times.

I cut the Cornflower die four times in white. I made up the flowers and then I inked the edges with Distress Ink.

Because we love our friends and miss them I chose to use this sentiment.

You would not believe how many Snippets I used on this card. Everything apart from the mats and layers came out of my extensive collection of Snippets. It is strange but however much I use there always seems to be more.

You should have seen us deliver this we rang the door bell and ran away. What strange times we are living in. We did message our friends so that they knew it was there.

Floral Doily Thank You Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? Today there will be no invigilating for me as I am having lunch out with a lovely group of people that I used to work with. We go to a restaurant at a local college where the students wait on you and others cook the food. I must say that the food is amazing and the price is fantastic.

When I made my splat card (which you can see here) I had lots of flowers left over. Here is was I decided to make.

I saw a challenge somewhere to use a doily I am too late to join that challenge but it did remind me that I have lots of doilies in my stash. The patterned paper in the background is left over from our daughter's wedding.

The cornflowers cut with the Cornflower die from the John Next Door range are very pretty. It you lay a 2.5 inch strip across the middle of the die you get two small flowers and all the centres. As all the dies are on one plate there is no chance of loosing the small dies. I used the Star Flower Leaves dies to cut the leaves. This design is a great way to use up Snippets of card and paper.

The banner die and the thank you both came with the Crafter's Companion Advent calendar.

I did enjoy making this card. It is so bright and cheerful. I am taking place at the Hampshire Studios event again this summer and I am already thinking of what I can make for it. This year I will have much more time to plan.

Floral Feel Better Soon Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you have had a good weekend. We managed to be busy although not much was arranged. We did see our friend who had an operation last week. On Sunday we visited our daughter and son-in-law. We have started planning a special holiday with them. Today a full time carer starts work at my parents house to look after them. It has taken a lot of effort to get to this place.

I loved the dies I used on Friday's card so much that I decided to make a smaller card.

I found the patterned paper in a pad and I liked the colours so much I decided to make that the colour scheme of the card.

I used the Renmore die set from the John Next Door range to make a focal point for the sentiment. This time I used the inner die that that comes with the set to make a darker background sentiment. The sentiment is made from a scrap of the patterned paper. The sentiment die is from Crafter's Companion.

I cut the Cornflower die from the John Next Door Range in blues and yellows. As I was using smaller flowers I used the Star Flower Leaves dies to make the foliage.

The next two weeks are going to be rather busy I am not sure how much crafting will get done. I will try to keep up with my comments.
