New Twin boys

Hi Everyone

I hope you are all well and enjoying the summer. I work in a school so it is a good chance for me to catch up on lots of things.

This card was made for one of my daughter's friends who has just had twin boys.

The image is from a LOTV stamp that I have had for a while (the set of stamps was a good investment). I colured the images with Promarkers. The embossing folders was one of Sue Wilson's (Lattice Heart A4). The wording dies are Britannia  dies the "With Love" was a Spellbinders die.

Thank you for stopping by and for leaving any comments. I am trying to post more often.

Prickles' New Home

Hi Everyone

I hope you are enjoying our spell of hot weather. We have fans going in the house all the time I don't think we used them at all last year.

I recently received Sam Poole's release of Christmas stamps and I couldn't quite bring myself to make a Christmas card when they first arrived. Looking at the Hedgehog (Prickles) I started to think of Autumn and piles of leaves and that is where the idea for this card came from.

I did enjoy working out how to make the background as I was using a mask to emboss and I wanted a larger background. I ran it through the Grand Calibur twice both times hanging the edge of the mask outside the sandwich so as not to get a line across. Then I inked through the mask to make the trunks stand out. I also used Autumn colour to ink through a leaf mask. I used a script A6 stamp to stamp randomly with black ink over the background.

Thank you for coming to look at my Blog. I was trying to be better about posting more often but  this doesn't seem to have happened, life just seems to get in the way.

Lighthouse by the Sea

Hi

I hope you have all had a great weekend. I have a lot of family stuff going on so I haven't got as much crafting done as I would have liked. I have some deadlines coming up and I really should be getting on with bits and pieces.

This will be my last nautically themed post for a while as Sam now has just released an exciting range of really cute Christmas stamps.

This will be my Father-in-laws birthday card. The background is made from an old map covered in Micro Beads so it is very touchy feely just right for his partial sight.

The Lighthouse was stamped onto white card with Black Archival ink and them heat embossed with clear detail powder. Then I coloured the image with Promarkers and pencils. I made a frame using two Spellbinder dies.

The Ship in a bottle stamp was stamped with Black Archival ink onto shrink plastic. I cut out the shapes and then heated them one a t time with my heat tool. It makes a cool embellishment.

The sentiment was from the Lovely Labels stamp set.

So that is the last nautical project for a while.

Here is a sneak peak of Sam's new stamps.

Hearts and music 80th Birthday Card

Hi Crafty friends

As you can see from my previous post this has not been a good week for me with the death of my aunt. I have also been very busy crafting. Why is when you are really busy that is when people ask you to make cards for them. I do find it hard to say no as there is something special about being asked to make something for an important time in their lives. I'm rambling, on to the card. This one was a commission for a wife to give her trumpet playing husband.

There are lots  of musically themed elements: the backing paper, the Tattered Lace die cuts and the embossing folder.

The hearts were made from a Spellbinders die set. I covered a piece of card with a double sided sticky sheet and then die cut the two heart shapes. This way the sticky sheet goes right to the edge of the shape and I covered it with Morris Dance gilding flakes by Indigo Blue. The with the filigree part of the dies and the outer hear die I cut the top layer and stuck these on top of the gilding.

This is a Tattered Lace die and I must admit that it did cut beautifully.

I do like keeping the insert simple so that there is room to write.

Have a great weekend what ever you are doing.

Thanks for stopping by and for any comments you might leave.

Sympathy Card for my Aunt's family

Today I lost my lovely Aunt she died this morning surrounded by her loving family. It has been a hard few years as she suffered with Vascular Dementia. So though she was there in body often her mind was not with you. She is at peace now all the struggle is ended.

I used so many dies and two embossing folders. I wanted it to reflect something of my Aunt she loved lace,  the colour mauve and she liked to sing. She was a very lovely person.

The detail on the heart is a Memory Box die.  All the other dies were Spellbinder dies.

This is the inside I often do inserts like this and I needed lots of space to write.

This is my Aunt she was a beautiful lady inside and out. She is at Peace now.

I hope you have a good week.  Hugs Jackie
