Fantasy Stampers - All About the Boy

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

The weekend is here. I hope whatever you have planned works out. We are hoping to get some bits sorted for our niece's wedding believe it on not we have to mount an Admiralty Chart for the table plan. I say we because I can't do these things with out my husband.

Today sees the start of a new challenge on the Fantasy Stampers Challenge blog. The new theme is All About the Boy. The Design Team have interpreted it in lots of different ways they are worth a look.

I created the background for this card with a free footprint stamp from a magazine from some time ago. I stamped it with Perfect Medium and heat embossed with a sparkly black powder. Then I inked over the background with several shades of Distress Ink.

The main image was created with The Adam set from Crafter's Companion. I stamped the image in black ink on to the background. Then I stamped the image again on anther piece of paper and this one I coloured with my Promarkers before I cut it out. I did do a bit of inking on the background for the grass and sky before I added the cut out image on foam pads.

I hope you have a great weekend. The winners will be posted tomorrow.

Happy Father's Day in the Garden

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? I keep getting confused as to which day of the week it is. I don't work this afternoon so I will have some time to craft. I need to catch up on some design team bits and then it is on with the invites.

I set myself a challenge the other day. I was looking at my snippets box and I thought there is a card in there. So I decided I would make a card using as many of my snippets as I could. I would like to enter Pixie's Snippets Playground Weeks 175 / 176.

Recently I made a box for a present and I needed a piece of A1 card this meant there was a large piece left over that made a 7" x 7" card blank. I cut all the mats and I ended up with a piece of stamping card I stamped the Visible Image footprint stamp with brown, black and clear and them they were heat embossed. Then I inked over the footprints with green Distress Ink.

I wanted to use this image again I love the idea of gardening and then having a break. This time I cut a tree with an  Memory Box die I did extend the die a bit you can see the join in the photo.

I used the leaves die that came with the tree and I made an owl all from the same set. The Father's Day stamp came from a cover mount set from Do-crafts magazine last year.

I love the Spellbinder flower pot dies they mean that you can put flowers on a masculine card and they don't look too girly.

I popped a cheeky little cat popping out from behind the tree.

This card will be for my Father-in-law who loves gardening. I was looking at the new challenge on the Cardz 4 Guyz challenge blog and the theme is gardening so I would like to enter that challenge too.

I hope the rest of the week is kind to you.

Gardening / Drinking Tea Birthday Card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope your week has started well and continues in the same vein. What a busy week I had last week two Design Team posts in one weekend. My husband made my storage solution on Saturday. Now I have lots to sort out.

I made this card for my dad, with the idea of entering the Challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz this week the theme is Pastimes.

I found a fun backing paper in my stash and cut it to size. To make the foot print paper I used the Visible Image footprint stamp that came with Craft Stamper magazine last November. I remembered my friend Diane saying they would make good wellie prints. I used black embossing powder to make the footprints look mucky. I used Distress ink to add the colour to the mat.

The image was a Forever Friends one that I had in my stash. After all the hard work gardening he deserves a nice cup of tea.

I added the pot plant to show what he has been working on. This was cut with one of my favourite Spellbinder die sets.

Of course he would be sitting under the shade of a tree.

This the corner of the dining room before the storage unit.

Here is my husband making my crafty storage unit on Saturday afternoon. I was finishing my Easter cards while he did this.

Here is the unit full up and in the corner of the dining room. We do have doors for this unit they will be added soon.  I do have a big pile of stuff that didn't fit so I need to do some sorting out.

I hope my dad likes this card he doesn't often say much. I hope rest of the week is good for you.

Secret Santa

Hi Bloggers

How is your week going? Mine has been a bit up and down but then most weeks are. There is still so much to do for Christmas. I hope your preparations are going well.

I made this card to as an entry to a  competition on the Visible Image Facebook page using the cover stamps from the December issue of Craft Stamper magazine.

I had wanted to go in for this competition for a while but I had no idea what to do with the three free stamps. A friend of mine came round for a crafty afternoon and we were using my number dies on the project we were making and the idea to use the date struck me.

I started with an A4 piece of Kraft card and I made the largest square card blank that I could. For the red mat I stamped the footprint stamp with CS Perfect Medium and heat embossed them with a clear sparkly embossing powder. Once this was done I used two shades of  red distress ink to reveal the footprints.

The green mat was created with the HO HO stamp (I nearly stamped OH OH). I used CS Perfect medium to stamp and  then alternately heat emboss with gold and then with detail white embossing powder. Finally I inked over with three shades of green Distress ink.  The numbers and letter were cut with some X-cut dies.

The Believe stamp was stamped with Black Archival and heat embossed with clear powder. I inked round the edge and mounted it on black card.

I assembled all the mats and then I wrapped some burlap round the mats before sticking the mats to the card blank. The final touch was to add a black embellishment.

I called it Secret Santa because I thought the stamps hinted at Santa.

Enjoy the rest of the week I hope all your Christmas shopping is going well.
